Paddle on! Fellow beach chick here! So much fun!

What a LUCKY woman!!!! Sounds like you are lucky too. This brought tears to my eyes, in a good way.

Honestly, I really tried to find a reason this would matter. I just can't find one. I find caring about who is on who's friends list slightly insecure. Personally, I find men to be better friends.

My goal is a look. Lean. At my age, the lean muscle mass I can put on is not that what it used to be so getting to my goal does mean losing a few pounds but also for me means very slowly. I do have good definition "under there" already.

This! Walk proud, be proud. I find people who are comfortable in their own skin to be simply awesome.

I live in FL, 2 blocks from the beach so I wear bikini's for at least 10 months a year. Under everything. LOL. I have over 30 bikinis and about 10 tankinis. We have a "Bikini Company" here and they literally have hundreds of styles. I can't shop there though, not because they are $$$ but because I am so overwhelmed by all…

You will always drop water weight when going low carb.

Yes, the recommended is dieting for 4-6 weeks and then a full diet break eating at maintenance (of course adjusting the maintenance to the new weight you achieved). 10-14 day break. Then back to dieting. Personally, I feel that within 10 lbs of goal that a 10% deficit is better but YMMV.

People might also want to read up on cardo and inflammation as well as cardio and cortisol. My belief is that it isn't just about calories in vs calories out. I believe inflammation is a big key although finding studies is not easy. I am my own n=1. As a celiac, I've had to learn about inflammation in regards to foods I…

Who said anything about fearing fat? I certainly don't. How much chicken/fish or meat can I eat for the same amount of calories? What is more filling? I also don't enjoy the bloat that accompanies eating nuts. I've learned to avoid foods that bloat me up. Bloating from foods is NOT normal unless you can't tolerate them.…

this!

I avoid nuts. Too many calories and fat for so little pleasure. Just my opinion of course.

bananas!!! must have, and I eat 2-4 a day. I'm not dieting (although MFP seems to want to make me...LOL) In fact, I eat 4-8 fruit servings a day. I hate logging but am trying to get better at it.

Not a peeve at all but I know some would be annoyed. I thought the gym would be slow today because there weren't as many cars in the lot and adjoining lot. Wrong. The NY Yankees farm team was there!!! :) :) ahem, made my rest periods WAY more interesting. Polite and great form indeed. All you young gals would have been in…

Lyle McDonald wrote a book about this exact thing and it is called UD2.0 which is a book about dropping the last few fat%. It is a 4 days a week diet mode with depletion workouts (which thoroughly suck but I love them) and refeeding at the end of the week. Depletion workouts empty glycogen and you get to refill them at the…

some smart*ss told me protein powder mixed in cottage cheese is delightful. I threw up.

Lyle McDonald's Rapid Fat Loss Handbook. He doesn't advocate crash dieting but wrote a book so people can do it the healthiest way possible without losing too much LBM. He advocates this for special events, contest prep etc. And it works. You calculate your protein needed. Then just eat protein with some veggies thrown in…

Lyle McDonald (bodyrecomposition.com) says that a low carb diet (between 75 and 150 grams) with higher fat has shown to be best for PCOS. This also means avoiding processed carbs which does include bread etc. Personally, to keep thyroid levels healthy, I stagger carbs depending on my workouts.

If you lift weights you can focus on being smaller (measurements) than the freaking number on the scale. If you wear smaller jeans at the same weight, why is a number so important? One of my best friends is an inch taller than I am. She also weighs 5lbs less than I do. I work out with weights (thankfully I love it) and she…

hahaha! That was so ME. So 5 years ago, I became single and have never been happier! I love being single. I am never bored. I hate TV, hate movies, because I can't sit for that long and do nothing. I am always moving. I am also a single mom so I am very active with them. You can find us 4x a week throwing the football or…

are you eating enough? Insanity comes with a great section on calculating how much you should be eating and deficits and all of that. I can tell you, from experience, that if I don't eat enough when doing insanity that I feel like a giant, bloated, mushier than when I started BLOB. It is high intensity cardio and must be…

I find it hard to believe that 1200 calories is enough for you at 5'6 and 125. TDEE! Cortisol.

I do not deprive myself of red wine. Or vodka. I drink vodka with club soda and lemon/lime slices. I don't drink every day even though I would like to. LOL. Lyle McDonald mentioned either on his website or in one of his books that : women who drink tend to be thinner because they drink instead of eat. men who drink tend to…

I'm the aloof one with a heavy dose of sarcasm. They know if they ask me something they will get the truth non-sugar-coated, whether it is what they want to hear or not. Sugar coated - no. Sarcasm coated - absofreakinglutely.
