Totally agree. It can also get a little lonely working out at home on your own and hard to motivate oneself. Both home and gym have their + & -. And don't forget the 'great outdoors'.

I left the gym also. Got fed up with queuing for equipment, people staying on for 6-8 sets and not letting anyone else on in between their 2 mins off. Bought my own mutli-gym (functional trainer) for the garage and haven't looked back since. Costs about the same as my monthly membership but so worth it.

You could just buy a heart rate strap compatible with a phone app if you don't need a wrist based display

Sorry but don't like to see rubber bands or other small objects in the pool. I see them as a potential choking hazard to other swimmers if lost and floating around.

I've had this surgery. Arthroscopic on left hip and full open surgery on right hip. Arthroscopic is a breeze in comparison to open but the open surgery has given me a far better result. Deffo do not cheat on the crutches. My profile pic is from my open surgery.

Aldi ones are cheap at 49p each and taste ok. Usually found at the checkout. http://www.newproductreviews.com/own-brand/new-aldi-products/aldi-berry-hike-protein-bar-55g-review/

I sorted mine by wearing a decent pair of calf compression sleeves. Not cheap at £40 but worked 100% for me. Tried cheaper ones but they never worked. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0711B9GRP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Did you actually watch the video or do any other reviews of this functional trainer? All depends upon what your requirements are. I am getting good results from it and we use it as a family so the built in smith machine makes it nice and safe. The ease of weight change also makes it good. Replaces just about every weight…

I recently purchased an Inspire FT2 functional trainer (£3500, 36 months interest free instead of gym membership). Fantastic bit of kit with a small foot print. Well worth a look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wieyfOeJYuM

Fantastic

Having eventually got fed up with the over subscription at my local gym and having to queue for equipment I bit the bullet and purchased an Inspire FT2 functional trainer. Definitely not cheap but a great piece of quality semi commercial equipment. There is nothing that you can do at the gym that you can't do on this,…

I have a concept 2 model D. The main benefit is the rowing community and the ability to train and race online in real time via the rowpro app. It really keeps the motivation going. There are groups for all speeds. Details of the rowpro can be found at digitalrowing.com

If you have a smart phone then you can purchase a compatible HR chest strap and use you phone for both GPS and HR. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wahoo-Heart-Monitor-iPhone-Android/dp/B006NZH0TU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406818255&sr=8-1&keywords=android+hr+strap

Do you normally exercise? Did you not exercise on your cheat day? If yes to both these then it could be the replenishment of your glycogen stores.

Yes it should. From what I can recall MFP alerted me when I had lost 10lbs and offered me the option to adjust my calorie target accordingly.
-
I weigh-in every day and log using an android app called 'Libra'. This app calculates trends and smoothes out daily fluctuations giving a prediction of when you will hit your goal. I personally find it good.

Yes it will grow back. It is quite common for runners toe nails to fall off. It has happened to me a few times. It is caused by the repeated banging of the toe nail against the end of the trainer.

+1 for Concept2. I use this in conjunction with RowPro to enable real time online rowing with other Concept2 users. A great motivational tool. Details here: http://digitalrowing.com/

Have a look at snapping hip syndrome. Probably just the tendons (hopefully).
