I used to run/jog even when I was very overweight- it did not help with weight loss, and now at my lightest weight as an adult I have been told by my dr. to stop jogging because it is aggravating the arthritis I have in my right hip. :( I love to walk. I do not enjoy doing resistance training, but I do it anyway because my…

You might want to try IF (intermittent fasting). I do not have much weight left to lose, and using IF seems to have kept my momentum. I am losing much more slowly (a half pound per week), but it is still going in the right direction. There is a lot of info on the 'Net about IF. Feel free to check it out.

I was listening to a podcast re: the WLS journey and one of the things I really liked was this---- regain and loss and such are NOT failures. They are a part of the WLS package. It is a constant balance of figuring out what works, what doesn't, what keeps us on track, what derails us--- and those things are constantly…

THIS^^^^^ AWESOME!!!

Wow. Sounds like you went through the wringer. Thanks much for the intro and WELCOME!! :)

My dr. did not set one for me. I was a little over 300 just before I had surgery. When my dr. asked me I said I wanted to get to 225---he said that was fine and he thought that was do-able. I blew past that goal in less than 6 months and have lost way more since then. I liked having a very reachable goal (225) because…

LOVE it!! You look great!

YAY!!! Congrats!!!

People at work knew because I was out for awhile, but I don't usually tell people I meet now. Some of my close friends know. You don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to- it is really no one's business.

What a transformation! WOW!! :)

WOW!! You are doing terrific! Thanks for the update! :)

^^^^THIS^^^^^ I want to get to this point. For now I am tracking things since I am a relative newbie, but once I get the hang of things, this is what i want to do.

My 2 cents... if this is howyou intend to eat for life, the longer it takes for the weight to come off, the longer you will have to develop the good habits you need to be able to maintain the loss for life. Be encouraged! You are eating in a way that is super good for you body-- yay! :)

Hello and welcome! Glad things went well for you! Yes--- coming off of the liquid diet is a joy. I was fortunate in that I only had to do shakes for less than a week after surgery-- by 2 weeks I was allowed to eat anything as long as I chewed it well. My dr. was a softie. ;) Anyway-- this is a WONDERFUL, supportive place…

I PM'd her. Thanks! :)

What a neat story!! YAY! My husband and I have both lost a lot of weight eating LC. My middle child is vegan. my youngest is about 80 pounds overweight and eats a lot of junk (she is 18). Even though I do not buy carby food, she buys it herself and brings it home. Anyway- she recently said she wanted to cut back on fast…

Heard. I was watching a video last night of a doctor explaining the research on the need for a low fat diet and on the alleged relationship between high cholesterol and high mortality being completely BOGUS. Despite knowing it was bogus, our government STILL set up the food pyramid based on false info. Oh-- and the doctors…

LOVE this. Awesome!

Heard. I spent a few weeks eating sugar-- stuff makes me CRAZY and I know it. Been on the straight and narrow since this past Wed. So far, so good. :)

AWESOMENESS!!! Congrats!!

Ok... sorry... didn't know-- but will def. keep in mind if I decide to make LC waffles. :)

I am just getting started and I am trying to make this as easy on myself as possible--- I don't care about calories right now. Carbs under 50g at the most (but I prefer to stay under 40). Shooting for 100g protein, but again I am so early in this I am really just watching the carbs right now. I will get to tweaking later.…

@CoconuttyMummy I bet if you added some fat to the batter it would help them crisp up a little (that was my father in-law's trick for making super crispy waffles). Maybe add some lard or shortening to the batter? His batter always had little "lumps" of shortening and his waffles (while not low carb) were AMAZING. :)

There is a WONDERFUL LCHF board here on MFP if you are interested in being a part of a community that supports that lifestyle. Send me a PM and I will get you the link. I avoid the main forums like the plague-- just too many meanies. :)

Totally feel you on the bath tub thing---I stopped taking baths years ago for the same reason. No worries now, though!!! Awesome!! :)

Wow!! Super progress!!!

Thanks! <3

Howdy! I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG)a year ago January. I have lost 132 pounds since then. I am seeking a long-term WOE - not super happy with the mod. protein, low carb, low fat plan I received post op. I have tried just counting cals, but my choices were often not nutritive. I also tended to avoid eating most…
