Really work in what sense? Running really works if you want to improve your running and cardio, eating less junk and overall calories really works if you want to lose weight, weights really work if you want to get stronger....zumba really works if you want to work on cardio....you can do all the cardio in the world and you…

I think it's a useful tool for people who are emotionally ready and mentally ready to accept the lifestyle changes that it requires to maintain it. There's a guy I work with who had surgery and by a year later. When I met him....eats like no tomorrow and has gained most if not all the weight back. Will eat dinner, and then…

so a flexitarian is a normal person who doesn't eat a ton of meat...or its someone who is just a picky eater and needs a fancy name for it to excuse their under eating? I'm still confused. I was vegetarian for years and now incorporate some meat (still no red meat and no pork), but I don't go around telling people I am…

If its really hot I wear just a sports bra (and running shorts) out on my runs. But it has to be really hot...otherwise I wear a running tank over. If I go hiking or paddling and its really hot I'll wear a bikini top since they are little bit more socially acceptable (not sure why though since my sports bra definitely…

Mid-morning is when I do any cardio (which is when I wake up because I work until midnight or 1am most of the time). I work evenings and overnights, on an overnight I go for a walk and do more stretching/pilates/light weights in the afternoon and don't worry about doing much cardio. I don't go to gyms.

I got 2 fun runs coming up. The Radiant Run in August - A glow run with loud music at the university. http://radiantrun.com/ And the Color Run in September. Its a start.....Next spring will be doing 10k in April...hopefully will be able to keep motivated to train over the winter.

Might be wrong for YOU since you seem to often weigh yourself outside the home....I only weigh myself at home...and the doctor weighs in kg while I weigh in in pounds, so I don't pay attention to what the weight at the drs office is anyways. I prefer to weigh myself before I put clothes on for the day...I can't imagine…

This is me as well. I am all arts and relationships (I work in a social work field), but I am also a kinesthetic learner, so I get much more out of eating healthy (and fitness) if I have to physically imput the data and understand why it is good (or isn't good) for me and what effects certain foods/habits have on my body.…

My fitness "routine" is Monday weds fri, but I still walk on tues thurs (usually with a friend or my mom to double as social time) and do something active, a walk or canoe or hike....so I guess like others have said I have "active" rest days.

July 24: 5km Met my goal...next month will not include rowing.

Of course getting out and moving is what counts! But walking is getting out and moving too, and there is nothing wrong with that!...I go on longer walks then that at least 4 times a week, so without incline and or terrain challenges I find it hard to call something a hike that is short and just as easy as a walk around the…
-
i'm not an expert, but I would assume with running outside there are other factors that might make it a more satisfying work out....like slight inclines, change in surface, change in scenery helping you mentally enjoy the workout....if any of these are factors I supposed you might burn a few more running outside, but I…

Lol, love this advice...but if your profile pic is you, you got nothing to worry about, wear whatever you want, and if your anything like me....try a 2 piece (doesn't have to be a string bikini), I find one pieces or "covering tankinis" actually seem to make my tummy bulge worse and more on display then wearing a bikini.…

Are you trying to cut out all dairy or just lactose...because for many the lactose is the problem and some dairy is good for you. You can buy lactose free yogurt, lactose free milk or soy/almond milk, almost recipes that use dairy can be substituted with the soy or almond alternative.

Hi I am Katie in Beautiful British Columbia (Western Canada). I love hiking, have been hiking as long as I can remember (or longer, we have pictures of me when I was about 2 at a beach that is only hiking accessible...) Living in BC I love how close I am to the outdoors! I usually stick to day hikes, but I LOVE doing…

Don't forget to stretch...I find I can increase my endurance and my muscles hurt less when I am religious about stretching before AND after running....common sense but I think its something beginning runners kind of slack off on. Get good shoes with proper support. Don't run the same route every single time....my endurance…

About 5 years ago I lost about 20lbs without really trying...looking back I think it had a lot to do with when I moved I changed from a mostly carb and fried diet (normal in the region I lived) to more veggies, less snacking and not frying food; the fact that I was working lots and didn't eat much at work/was limited to…

Unless someone dies very young....every generation usually has a royal "born in their lifetime". Or did Harry and Will just appear one day as 10 year olds?

Stoked to find this thread....sounds great!

I have 1 overnight pack, 1 small day pack, one normal backpack for a longer day hike, and a few large blue tubs for the canoe.
-
I use meetup to look for hikes/people to hike with as well....although I think people think I'm not interested because due to working weekends, there's very few I am able to go on.

July 19/20: Hiking while camping 8.2km

I agree with the previous posters and will add....why do you think cutting coffee will make your body produce more of something it isn't producing enough of? Maybe not deplete the levels as much, but it won't just start your body into doing something it naturally isn't doing, sounds like you might have overpaid for that…

lol...'cept I would NEVER cheat on my man....I couldn't find anyone who spoils me more!

All the sudden it all makes sense!!!! That's why my eating and exercise habits went to crap shortly after meeting hubby.
