I also gained a lot of weight eating healthy and clean. It means nothing to me either.

In the context of postings that promote cutting out certain foods to lose weight, moderation is not at all vague and/or misleading, and it does not imply that you don't pay attention to macros/micro nutrients. How to eat has nothing to do with he actual loss of pounds, how much you eat does. In other words, everything in…

I eat a very healthy diet, with all foods I love in moderation. Said foods include some sweet stuff, as well as lots of veggies, fruits, etc. Clean eating and predominately healthy are within one's perception, so you really need to find a way of eating that is sustainable and what you feel is good for you. Really, there is…

Weight loss has nil to do with meal frequency and everything to do with eating at a calorie defict. Track/weigh your food, eat how you choose, stay in a defict and you will lose weight.

I have not heard of this, but I am curious. Your username is "150poundsofme," which leads me to believe you weigh 150 pounds. If that is correct, why do you want a balloon? How much are you trying to lose? Good job on getting help for your issues around food. :)

This is a GREAT idea!

Oh yes, the bread I make calls for it. It helps with it rising or something.....

The only way to lose weight is to eat less calories than you burn, no apple cider vinegar necessary. ;)

Never, never give your power away to someone like that. He was just expressing his opinion, and we all have a few here and there. You Tube is not the best source of information either. It's true, one does not have to exercise to lose weight but one must exercise to gain strength, stamina and enhance health (unless there is…

No way I'm giving up sugar, because it's actually one of the foods I can eat without upsetting my system. Can't do lactose, soy, wheat due to intolerance, and I won't eat things I don't like no matter how good they are for me, so gotta keep what I can eat and do like. I love my sugar, though I moderate it very well. 5-6…

You went to restaurant and had a quinoa salad, and the menu said 450 calories? I've had a Quinoa salad before and you are right- the quinoa itself has quite a bit of calories.

Surely, you're not saying that you got to 300 pound because you were in starvation mode. Setting aside any medical issues that needed immediate attention, you got to 300 pounds by eating too much--just like everyone else has/does.
-
This. 100%. OP, what you are describing is your experience and emotional processes that have brought you to the place you are today. It takes a whole lot more than what you're describing for metabolic adaptation (which, it seems to me, you might mean by starvation mode) to come into play.

I think this is a great question. Even with intermittent fasting, you keep your calories goals the same, you just eat in a different way. So, my guess is if you are getting enough protein you will be fine.
-
I'm just curious how you interpret tone up, and/or if you mean it to be spot reducing? If so, that is not going to happen because spot reducing does not exist. If you want muscle, that's going to take a lot of hard work with lifting, eating at at least maintenance, and eating about .8 grams of protein per pound of body…

old thread.

Yep, that's about it for me!

Macro division has nothing to do with the mechanics of weight loss. In other words, you can lower your carbs all you want but if you don't eat at a calorie deficit you will not lose weight. For some people, cutting back on carbs decrease hunger pangs because fat and protein have been increased, therefore creating a calorie…

Nothing, because there is nothing to give up.
-
It doesn't matter because people are going to enjoy you and will not be paying any attention to your stomach.

They're most likely overestimating.

This.

Just gotta say.....awesome! LOVE this!

I had to come back and take a look at this thread again. So inspired!

This. OP, please have it checked out again. :)

This is an excellent point, of being able to buy groceries with the hundred. Here, where I live, we have a wonderful farmer's produce store, open every day, where I buy the bulk of my produce, and it's reasonably priced. I can leave the store with three bags stuffed with my fruits and veggies for under $25. The rest of the…

I have not tried the product you are asking about, but I know how easy it is to jump in a buy something on a whim because I needed a kick start to my weight loss. Many years ago, probably before you were born, it was Slim Fast, Dexatrim, Ayds, and probably many other products I've forgotten about. What I learned is that…

The bottom line is your own devices is what will keep you on this weight loss journey. Believe in yourself and anything is possible. You CAN do this!
-
Well, shoot, I can help you with that. :) The only things you should not eat are foods/drink you are intolerant or allergic too, or you simply don't like. In other words, you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight. Set your goals up to lose your desired amount each week (.5 and 1 pound is recommended unless you…

The dirtier the cakes and candies are, the better. Like this......
