  • I didn't read everything, but I will say this. You are the example for your kids. If you are active they will stay active. Make exercise fun, include them or find ways to fit it in.
  • Kickboxing is better, but form is extremely important. So if you go with that make sure you spend time learning proper form. In the long run though the question isn't just which will burn more, the question is which one are you most likely to do. Try some free work outs online, YouTube and even your cable station probably…
  • Maybe your belly isn't fat but weak muscle? I would say do core exercises and ensure your getting enough calories. Eat healthy, avoid sugary foods and exercise. My daughter gained more weight back when she got back to working out. Mostly weights. Yoga and stretching are good too . Also will help with delivery to have a…
  • Actually it's not my son, it's my daughters room mate. I probably wasn't clear. You are right about generally needs accept this easier. I hope you get the right support!!!
  • Weight training can only help not make it worse
  • I had an adjustable desk at my last job and it was really helpful for me because I am naturally fidgety. I stand most of the night when we go out on weekends. Switching between standing and sitting for me was really helpful. If you are having neck and back pain you are probably also not sitting right: The top of your…
  • Hi Falcon, you should be proud of yourself for finding yourself like that. I am a 49yo mom with a gay daughter who is transitioning to a be a boy. He is a great guy, but having lots of family support issues. Good luck to you as you come out!!! I recommend weight lifting to you very much. It will be harder to bulk up for…
  • I think the dress looks pretty good and if you have to and don't have a problem with it, get some shape wear. I will be looking for the pics in 33 days though. you really should be very proud of yourself. Love all the shoes :) I agree lots of shoes because clothes don't always look good.
  • The 21 day fix can help you get started on the right track, but Tomnev1 is right, there is no quick fix. One of the problems you may be having is being too restrictive. I got off track recently because I got bored with eating the same things. I needed to shake things up a bit. I didn't do it right because I gave into it…
  • I use the blog here to get things out that are hindering my progress. I find that if I say it and type it then its real. Its a great way for me to vent, move on and hopefully feel better. Sometimes its about wins, lately its mostly about "I got this" or "I can't take it" or "I failed" but when I get it out and try to make…
  • Losing weight initially "dieting" is the easy part. Changing long term habits and staying motivated is the hard part. I was doing great then my daughter came home from college. My house is a mess and she buys all kinds of junk food that I get into. While there is no magic trick there are a few things that can help you.…
  • I do flavored coffee and add about 1oz of almond milk. I love good coffee and dropped the sweetener ages ago. Skim milk, unsweetened soy or unsweetened almond milk will smooth a good cup of coffee. No need for sugar. You don't need much so it usually is like 10 calories. Starbucks uses sweetened soy, so it adds a few more…
  • I sweat a lot too. Soon as I get warm at all I sweat. I am one of those people dripping sweat during the warm up. I am the girl asking to turn the fan on. I agree if you are sweating when you are not hot, get checked. There are things that can cause that. However, there are people who are just naturally hot or sweat a lot.…
  • Generally speaking none of it is an exact science. There are so many other factors that play into it. - People with more muscle burn more calories when resting. - Sitting all day at work can really damage the amount of calories burned - Fidgety people, you know that leg shaker or table tapper, actually burn more calories…
  • Lemon juice will not help you burn calories. However, there is a lot about putting lemon in your water to help you detoxify. I don't know about it actually working. Here are some facts: - Drinking 8 8 oz glasses of water does improve the look of your skin - Drinking water keeps you hydrated - Adding Lemon to your water…
  • Skipping a period and being late really are 2 different things. I have never been very regular, which was a *kitten* when I was younger and usually got my period the day after the negative pregnancy test. FYI, trying to get pregnant can cause you to be late too. Stressing over thinking your pregnant will also mess you up.…
  • Love the pictures and the goals. I have never cosplayed. I think about it sometimes but I am all about comfort and I get really hot at conventions. If I ever do it though it would be Batgirl, Wonder Woman or River Song. River would be the easiest and most comfortable, but getting my hair to hold that kind of wild curl…

  • First you are a working mom with time to Cosplay, that is really impressive. I love cosplay, but don't have time or energy to put into it. I am a 49yo working mom, empty nester now sort of (kid comes home from college in the summer and on breaks and weekends, etc). Second cool you have fans, that is so awesome. I…
  • I like Zumba. I love to dance, so I take Zumba, but here are some other things I have done: Roller Skate Ice Skate Dance Class Just put music on dance Jump Rope Kick Box I tell people to think about activities you liked as a kid and use them. Just have fun and move :)
  • I would be interested in the "controlled" studies behind it and the real results. The article sounds like it is just pumping something out based on the real research. It is possible that there is something wrong with the old research and that losing isn't linear and not that simple. Yes that I believe, but saying 7,000 is…
  • I didn't read the whole thread, but I am addressing the original question. I take Zumba and don't care what anyone thinks, but I have never had as much to lose as you. However, I see lots of larger women in class or at the gym and I am impressed that they are getting healthy and active. I have heard some rotten stuff about…
  • Why are we here, because we're here, roll the bones, roll the bones Why does it happen, because it happens, roll the bones, roll the bones Rush Song lyrics
  • I am so jealous of the Picture with Misha, Mark and Mark. I love that show and love those guys :)

  • I love lifting and while I am still overweight, I look a lot slimmer than many people that weigh the same as me. It is because I lift :) FYI, I also love Zumba. I do both and that is OK too :)
  • try measuring yourself :) Also look for little things, clothes getting loose, getting stronger, able to move faster, getting through a workout class, etc. There are so many other wins you can focus on. Just slowly look at those.
  • I will enter my in cardio as different things and use it as an estimate. It comes close enough since I try not to eat back all my calories and gives me an idea of what I burned.

  • I am only 5'2" and will never be smaller than a size 8. Why I have broad shoulder and a butt and big thighs. I weigh in at 172 right now and no one believes me. I lift weights, I am 49 and don't want saggy butt, so lots of legs. Body weight exercises will give you strength, will build muscle, etc. Just like lifting weights…
  • I am 5'2" weigh 172 and wear between a 12 or 14 depending on the cut. My daughter is 5'4" weighs 120 and wears a size 4 or 6. Size isn't just about how much you weigh, it is about how your body is proportioned. Also many of the variations we are all seeing are dependent on the brand clothing you buy, the cut, etc. Each…
  • I personally count it as 30 minutes. Not sure if right or not, but I don't sit in between. I move a little or stretch or something.
  • You are right, owners need to be responsible. Dogs are animals and there is instinctual behavior that can come out. It is not the dogs fault if the owner is negligent or mistreats the animal who then becomes aggressive or vicious. Even the sweetest animal can turn under the right circumstances. Protecting territory,…
