You don't need the protein powder, you can add protein other ways as well. You can add extra protein just by having a glass of soy milk after a workout or an egg, some nuts. Lots of protein choices besides the powders However, Soy protein powders are an option.

I hurt my shoulder ages ago, tendinitis and possible tear. So I do shoulder exercises so as not to have it happen again. I do have to watch the amount and work with lighter weights so as not to hurt myself again, but definitely need to keep the muscles strong.

Most people struggle with it. Try planning ahead, pick a place to eat with healthy food, bring your own snacks. My friends laugh at me cause now when we plan stuff I always bring veggies.
