With your history having someone involved helping you with your weightloss is a good idea. That could be your boyfriend but maybe a medical professional would be better. I wouldn't say eat more as 99% of the time that isn't the answer. If you are not logging the weight of food in g and liquids in ml the chances are you are…

Leave the cake in the works kitchen for someone else to eat instead of me eating it, exercise more.

I said it on your previous thread and I will say it again, it takes time before your thyroxine dose is at the right level (at 16.7st I was on 200mcg) it took my gp 2 years to get it right for me. At 50mcg and still gaining, means the dose is too low and hate to say it but that means 1600 kcal is too much for you right now.…

I won't leave the house without washing my hair, so everyday for me with my hairdressers blessing. I have a very oily scalp and shampoo it twice (on my hairdressers advice) I do fork out for the professional shampoo though. I've tried dry shampoo in a bid to reduce the need for washing but it doesn't work in my hair and…

With a TSH of 5.8 there is quite a bit of play yet for you to increase on your levothyroxine dose, I'm on 175-150mcg a day with quite a low TSH( bottoman end of the noral range). I do medicate on symptoms (with the doctors agreement) with a nod toward my blood results but as long as my T4 is in range I'm happy. I was…

I have just got an Alta as a replacement to my broken charge, I find it is pretty much the same as the charge. Both dont seem to count my steps when I'm walking upstairs and add steps when I'm driving, so it sort of cancels each other out. I'm sure they are like for like on step counts, pretty happy with it really.

I gave some of my old work trousers that were hardly worn and a size or two too big to my mum recently, she's losing weight too but is a good 2 sizes bigger than me now. She'd said she needed new work trousers as she is shrinking out of hers so I let her have first pick before taking them to the charity shop. She was happy…

That is a starting dose the doctor should be checking your bloods after about 6weeks and upping accordingly I doubt you will stay at that dose. To answer your original question yes you can lose the weight once on meds. I have been hypothyroid since 2010 got up to 237lbs lost 70lbs to date. Also you can get really bad water…

Water, zero coke, salt(I don't track sodium) and pepper I do other herbs and spices because they can have some calories. I don't track tastes while cooking and I occasionally lick the knife (Nutella or peanut butter should not be left) that I don't log, I'm still losing so if that stops I may be stricter with myself.

I'm aiming for 160-154 pounds but having been 237, 160 seemed reasonable. Now I'm getting close to the 160 I'm already thinking of changing to 154, will see... I think I would look ill at 122 but everyone is different. (5'7 btw)

Had to look at my nutrition history but on average I eat around 30% of my cals in fat. 10% would make me miserable I don't know how anyone could eat that little and enjoy their food.

If you have pcos do you have insulin resistance with that? If so, either asking your doctor for metformin and/or going low carb (do your homework beforehand, I'm no expert but I do know this is the advice my sister who has pcos has been given by her gynae) may help. I would advice if at all possible to add the exercise…

The husband can eat over 3000 calories a day and maintain on that due to his job and I am at around about 1300 now as I'm trying to lose those last few pesky pounds to get to my goal weight. All the way through I have got him snacks that I am not that bothered about. Or having his and hers snacks. For some reasons having…

Hypothyroid here, I've just been calorie counting using mfp combined with a whole lot of patience 69lbs down as of this morning. (Very little exercise as I seem to lack the motivation to get off my butt, no other reason). Symptom wise I have more energy, my skin is better and I feel as normal as I suppose a euthyroid…

I second getting ovaries checked (if not already) I had a huge ovarian cyst which made me look about 6 months pregnant, it messed up my periods and I weighed about 6lbs less after they removed it.

Lost 5st being on 200mcg now on 175mcg of generic levo, I haven't cut any foods out but limit soy (as in I will eat soy sauce and if it happens to be in the shape of soy lechitin as part of the ingredients but not soy beans, soy milk, etc.) I also limit goitrogens but the advantage is I actually really hate the majority of…

I get it a lot now (still about 10lbs overweight) a group of girls at work are losing weight for some reason or other if we are discussing it I frequently get comments that I don't need to lose any weight (they don't know I have lost 5st already) I just smile or say thanks and then carry on doing what I do, its not for…

Just read you have thyroid disease, you could of course ask your endocrinologist to prescribe T3 for you which should help with your weightloss struggles but I do maintain only under strict medical supervision it isn't the wonder weightloss cure (and actually the reason why people who genuinely need it find it so difficult…

^^this so this T3 is incredibly dangerous in people without thyroid disease. And yeah you can lose 15kg in a month using T3, the L carnitine had nothing to do with it, but soooooooo dangerous keep wel clear if you don't want to do permanent damage to yourself!

I never get compliments it's usually the husband who gets told how great I look :( It would be nice if people told me instead but I suppose I will settle for indirect praise.

^^This andthey talk about exercise on mine but then a few of my friends are avid runners, one does the ironman challenge and one is a fitness instructor so it is to be expected. The fitness instructor uses it to promote her classes.

I have a friend who is what I suppose you'd call naturally thin. What I know is she is just as unhappy to be hovering in the underweight bmi category as I am hovering in overweight. She eats like a sparrow and struggles to eat more (hence underweight) and what she eats a lot of is 'crap'. Do I envy her, no, she is in the…

I tend to do the same protein for both of us and then the veg can be quite different for example if I do pork chops I'll do roasted butternut squash or salad and a jacked potato for me, mashed potatoes and beans for him. Pasta is usually the same but a much larger portion for him with cheese (none for me but I'm one of…

Same in the UK, for those who love the fox's rocky biscuits, aldi's version is actually the exact same biscuit made in the same factory (I have a friend who worked for foxes). I love their full fat greek yogurt, their forest fruit yogurt in the 500g pot, nice cereal bars, their cereal is good, tea, coffee, tinned soup,…

Mine doesn't and never has, I have to go into goals and only then will it update my calories. But as mentioned above if you are at 1200 it won't reduce any further and you will have to think of other ways to increase the deficit (exercise)
-
If you go into goals and select the calories section in there you can manually adjust your calorie goal yourself to account for breastfeeding.

It can be done I've lost a lot of weight but.... I don't lose as much weight as mfp says i should, what I mean is, if I set my profile to 0.75kg loss per week I probably only lose 0.5kg a week. My TSH is very low in the normal range and my T4 is right at the top end of normal. If they are not, I don't lose. So don't take…

I make a red lentil and bacon soup regularly which takes around 30-45min, so not too long, it tastes fantastic too. It's from the good food website, it's red lentils, tinned tomatoes, onion and carrot add 4-6 rashers of bacon and chicken stock. boil until the carrots are soft, blend and serve with some bread. I don't think…

How are you with things like beans: kidney beans, baked beans (in small quantities because of sugar), butter beans and such? Lentils/spilt peas? They are all protein sources but at least not of the animal variety, you could try upping protein that way. Maybe for reflux, smaller meals more often would be better if your…

Log it, acknowledge it, and carry on as before. No need to starve yourself for 2 days, if you really want to counteract it a little do some extra exercise next time, or be aware you may lose a little less than usual that week. It's life, you are allowed a day of 'pig out' everyone does it, social occasions happen and are…
