  • Good luck to you! I also had VSG in 2012. Sip, sip, sip once you're able too! :c)
  • I had it really bad right after surgery and then my stomach quieted down, but it has recently started up again and I'm almost 4 months out.
  • YES! I am always cold now, and before I was always sweating, even in the dead of winter. My hands and feet are especially prone to being cold.
  • It's really important that you listen to your body, eat slowly and chew thoroughly. That will help with you feeling full. I was on liquids for 2 1/2 weeks after surgery, but I did sometimes have some soupy mashed potatoes or cream of wheat and it didn't bother my sleeve. Sometimes I also chewed things and spit them out…
  • Good luck to you! It can all be so overwhelming and exciting at the same time. I started the process in June of 2012 and had surgery 12/19/12. I am 14 weeks out and down 75lbs total since the start and 64lbs since surgery day. If you have any questions or anything, feel free to ask!
  • I just had my surgery on 12/19 and added up the bills...it was about $36k and I just had the sleeve. That was including the anesthesiologist (sp?) and radiology bills (for upper gi day after surgery).
  • It would depend on the protein, because some proteins break down over 140 degrees. I drink UNJURY protein, and their powder can be added to hot water under 140 degrees.
  • I tried their program 4 years ago, made it 2 weeks and had to return the food. It is very high in sodium content and gave me bad headaches. The food also didn't taste that great. I am with most of the other commenters here, teach yourself how to cook healthy, smaller meals, or if you cook larger meals just pre-package for…
  • It really depends on what is causing your acne....is it hormones or is it from makeup/clogged pores, etc. I know for me, I went without it until my late 20's and now I have it really bad. Mine is caused by my hormones, though, so I'm sorry I'm not much help. I have used Proactiv and that worked really well, or you can ask…
  • When you're using the Fitbit AND MFP, you want to stick with one or the other, as they're never going to match. I stick with MFP, and it has gone very well for me. According to the Fitbit I burn less calories than I would if I just entered in my exercise, but that just helps me work harder. There is a forum on here just…
  • I have been taking it for the last 3 years, and I have noticed that it helps with weight loss and my appetite. I take it because I have PCOS and insulin resistance and it helps to regulate my period. The big plus is that this medication reigns in my hormones and testosterone....so I have less acne, oily skin and my hair…
  • So you automatically look at people and BOOM..."you're fat/you smoke/etc etc so I have no respect for you and I won't even give you the time of day"...without even talking to them first? Wow....and I won't even get into the fact that being overweight is not always a choice. That's like looking at an overweight person and…
  • I haven't played a console game in YEARS, but I do love some World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Aion, Rift, etc....I don't currently play all those but I have enjoyed them!
  • I have never heard of the Wheat free/Dairy free approach to help with PCOS. I have been battling it since I hit puberty and my weight has just yo-yo'd all these years. I really hope that this works for you! I know how frustrating it is to work so hard and not lose weight.
  • Frozen blueberries (which I just discovered recently!) and sometimes a spoonful of natural peanut butter...yum!
  • ANY activity you do outside of your normal "lifestyle" activity does your body good and counts for calories. The reason it doesn't do you any good is because you do it daily...that isn't the case for someone who leads a more sedentary lifestyle and doesn't clean their house daily. This is the reason so many people on here…
  • I'm in Akron...Cleveland.
  • I would say don't be discouraged when things don't grow the way you want or expect them too. Last year was a bad year for planting for us in Ohio, and some of our stuff just didn't grow from seeds. This year we plan to move to the community garden to try out luck (we were planting mostly in pots/buckets). It is definitely…
  • When I am on the elliptical, my fitbit does register my activity. If you're looking to really know exactly what you're burning, then go HRM. I am still loving the fitibt though!
  • GREAT JOB! It is amazing what you can do to bring those numbers down just avoiding the bad foods.
  • I went last Friday to Best Buy looking for the Polar Ft4 HRM and bought a FitBit instead...and I am really loving it! I was skeptic about the strap going around you and I was afraid it wouldn't fit me. Plus, when you think about getting sweaty I would think it would get uncomfortable, but I don't know. Good luck!
  • This sounds so yummy! Thank you for sharing!
  • I just found Chocolate Instant Cream of Wheat the other day at the store...YUM!!
  • Wow, I can't believe that so many people want to blame Paula Deen for obesity in America! It's like she brainwashed you into forcing yourself to cook her recipes and then shoved the food down your throat! When did it become the norm to blame someone else for your own actions? I mean seriously! If you don't agree with her…
  • Congratulations to you! You look amazing! Thank you for sharing your story!
  • I agree with Suzi, when I am taking my Metformin regularly (which sometimes I forget because I take them at night before bed) I do lose better than without taking it. It also helps me feel better when my hormones are in check.
  • Congrats to you! You look wonderful!
  • I am having a hard time with the same thing. I am an emotional eater, and things have been really rough lately so I've had a hard time controlling it. It helps staying active, and also trying to avoid doing things that make you want to eat, say getting on the computer, etc. Good luck to you!!
  • Kashi blueberry clusters, YUMMY! Barbara's Peanut Butter Puffins is good too.
  • Thank you for sharing! Love it!!
