Started on this journey (again) last March with 155 to lose. I'd lost 70 pounds and managed to put it all back on. So far I've lost 43 pounds since March and that was with a 5 month stall from October to January. We just have to keep getting up each day and trying again. Sending an add and anyone who would like to add me,…

Oh and I will add you! I can always use more support.

Congrats on all your hard work! Awesome job and thanks for the inspiration!

Mike you are on an amazing journey. Congratulations on making those healthy choices every day, choices of what to eat, to journal the food, to not drink, AMAZING HARD WORK! You look great and I know you feel great. You are so right, in one of your posts on this thread you said the goal now is to be healthy, that is what…

Congrats on the NSV! Isn't it wonderful to pull out old clothes from the skinny part of the closet and they fit? Or are even a little big? You are an inspiration.

Congratulations on your loss and commitment to a healthier future. Appreciate so many of your comments here. What I really like about this site is the positive, mutual support. Encouraging and inspiring one another is a great win for all of us. Anyone want to add me as a friend for ongoing mutual accountability and…

I first joined over a year ago and didn't do much with the application. Truth is, I never logged in, kept eating too much and not moving my body. When I started back at this in March I was at 308, my blood sugar was out of control and I had just about given up. But I started logging everyday, walked the little that I could…

Great job! You look great! Congrats on all your hard work.

I think for me at this point is that I can pass up the bad stuff, like a chocolate cake today at Costco, and not feel deprived. My relationship with food has changed, I control it instead of it controlling me. Thanks for the great thread.

We can do this! You can do this! I started at 308 and I've lost almost 35 pounds since March. It isn't a race, each of us is on our own journey. Take it day by day, keep logging in and try and walk or do some type of exercise each day. Feel free to add me as a friend, I love the encouragement and enjoy encouraging others.…

Congrats! Thank you for sharing and since I have just started the journey this spring, and just as far to go, I would love to be friends. Will send a request your way.

This morning it is old fashioned oatmeal (1/2 cup dry) with 2 tbsp raisins, a tsp of butter and 1/4 cup of NF milk. Then I cut up a nectarine. Some mornings I make a vege omlette with whatever veges I have on hand, mushrooms, a little onion, spinach, a piece of a tomato, 1 whole egg and two whites. I microwave the two…

Good for you! I'm 57 and when I started was back at MFP in March was over 300 too. It was a wake up call from my doctor who when he was changing my diabetes meds told me "I can prescribe medication all day long, but if you don't change your life, it won't make any difference." Wow! From that point on I started using MFP,…

I joined last year but really started using MFP in March. Will send you a request. The community here is great to keep you motivated and accountable!

I am at 136 today.

I recently made true peace with the fact that maintenance will mean continuing to journal. Your post inspired me, thanks!

Thanks so much for posting. Congratulations on all your hard work paying off. Loved the comment about cake especially today because I am feeling guilty for a piece of birthday cake I had today. But I counted it in my journal and I'm still under for the day, but only because I worked out this morning. Thanks for the…

Most recently it is the Crunchy Rice Rollers from Costco. To me they taste like sugar crisp cereal! I open the package, they are only 45 calories each roll, but when you eat all 8 in the bag that is bad news! I can't buy them anymore because I can't control how many I eat.

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your success, it helps inspire me and I'm sure many others too.

Hi! I have 150 pounds to lose, have lost about 25 pounds so far. MFP friends help keep me accountable so I would love to have you add me as a friend, or anyone else that wants to encourage one another! :glasses:

Thank you for sharing your story with all of us! What great courage and determination you have and I know the future months will bring new triumphs and gaining strength while losing the pounds. You are an inspiration!

I also just picked my Bob Harper's "Skinny Meals" and he reviews at the beginning his 25 skinny rules. One of them is that one meal a week is a splurge. For me this will probably be Sundays after church, when my husband and I go to lunch.
-
Thank you all so much! This is a great forum and I really appreciate your honest and feedback. My goal is 2 pounds a week, so I get about 1470 calories a day. Great comments and ideas everyone!

I'm a diabetic and for the last year my fasting blood sugar was too high. I was eating all the wrong foods, still taking my medication, but not exercising or eating right. I went to the doctor and he suggested a change in medication and then told me as he wrote the prescription, "I can prescribe all the medication you or I…

Being able to go horseback riding and on an extended pack trip in the mountains.

Congratulations! You inspire me!! It has been two and a half months for me and I've dropped 22 pounds. Looking forward to my post in another 10 months or so when I am coming up on a year anniversary. Thanks for sharing your success and inspiring all of us!!

I joined MFP over a year ago and then didn't do much with the application or on my own. The first of March I went to see the doctor and he said something that really struck home. "I can prescribe all the medication you or I could want, but if you don't change your lifestyle, it won't make any difference." That really hit…

Congratulations on quitting smoking! That was a great first step. Keep logging in and it will be another step in the right direction. Feel free to add me as a friend. I also find it motivating when people "like" my logging in, etc. Feels like my own cheering section.

You inspire me! Congrats and you look amazing!

We all can encourage one another and be successful with baby steps that add up over time. I started out with 153 pounds to lose. Feel free to friend me.
