I love summer dresses.... I wear them everyday and plan too after baby. Grabbed them on sale at Target, Old Navy and Forever 21 when they are $10 or less. Also couldn't live with out maternity leggings... put them on under the dress for cooler days.

I liked them in the very beginning but around 18 w, I switched and never looked back. Maternity clothes are just so much more comfortable and worth buying early on so they can be worn for 6 months.

You may also try searching the groups to find others.

Love quinoa! I make cold salads all the time, no recipe just throw it together. Here are some of my favs: - tomatoes, cucumbers, mozzarella, balsamic, basil (optional) salt & pepper to taste - apples, sweet balsamic (or regular), dried cranberries, almonds Let them set for about 30mins - 1 hr

Cauliflower covered in sarcasm will get you every time.

These threads are so helpful I also need some advice. This is my first and I have no idea what to expect. Here's my dilemma. We live in Texas and all our family and friends live in NY. I have great friends in Texas but not any close enough to share the really personal/embarrassing stuff (ie- "Can you bring the frozen pad…

We have a separate Sept babies group if you want to join us! I sent you an invite :)

There is only one part that I can help with: Also are protein shakes safe while pregnant? My doctor said protein shakes are very controversial during pregnancy mainly because the protein sources can be chemically derived/altered. She recommended only organic non-soy protein shakes. Since I decided I'd rather be safe than…

I think some people also call them pocket diapers.

Ditto. Hummus! Also, if you eat meat, increase your portion.

^^^^ Um dude, she's 4'7.... And to agree with the others, nutrition is everything. This isn't one of those situations. I looked at 4 of my fav calorie calculators (I never trust just one) and according to them you're right on track. 1000 - 1100 calories to lose at a slow pace. You're doing the right stuff. How long have…

It's probably too late but Pottery Barn kids has a lamb theme.

Leftovers for the win! Sometimes I make things for dinner just because they taste better the next day.

Also, many health food stores carry the single packets which give you the option to buy & try a small amount before committing to a whole container. That's how I found my first protein powder years ago, I just bought 8-9 different kinds and tried them.

I second this. I'm currently using Vanilla Chai, but I like the Chocolate too.

I would ask your doctor again.

It really depends on your starting weight/body composition. Also, your doctor/midwife can give you the best guidance on this. With that said, I started about 20lbs overweight and I'm 5'2. With assistance from my midwife, my goal is to gain about 25-30lbs. I'm using the following equation: 1st tri: maintenance + 100 cal 2nd…

Do you have crockpot? (I would marry mine if I could) There is an endless list of possibilities including homemade mac & cheese, chili, chicken rice dishes, pot roasts, pulled pork/chicken.... Also, what about stir frys- assuming the kids like it. We use frozen stirfry mix and precooked beef or chicken, or shrimp. (15 mins…

I'm going to be the different one and say I believe in detoxing- but a different reason. I like to reprogram my mind and body once a year. I just eat raw organic fruits and vegetables for about a week with a lot of water and decaf tea. I feel like it keeps me in check and my intestines get a break. (Not to mention the will…

While I haven't had back pain, my hips ache at night. Aside from the pillow, which helped immensely, I see a chiropractor every 3 weeks. (I saw him before I was pregnant and one of his specialties is prenatal chiropractic care.) Anyway, when I told him about the pain, he made a few adjustments and it has helped…

It's a great resource and there are a lot of great people with great advice. Good luck on your journey!!! PS- I'd love to be on your team but be forewarned I'm…

I think there is a difference between fad diets and eating 25-30% protein. I'm definitely one of those people who needs more protein for various reasons. I think the "magic equation" is different for everyone. I also think it's worth adjusting those numbers until you find your sweet spot.

Not a quick fix, but learn to cook. I learn new stuff from Youtube. If you don't, you'll be posting the same thing in 10 years.

My suggestions: - Be careful with calories burned from exercise. If it seems too high then don't eat all the calories back. (I have a HRM but still use various websites when the number doesn't seem right.) - Measure food whenever possible, either with measuring cups/spoons or food scaled. You might be underestimating. -…

Ditto.... I also add finely chopped bacon :) Also, rice or quinoa are great with fish.

Yup, generally live in their own little world. He probably thought it was a great compliment and if he didn't, then he's just an *kitten* that's trying to make up for having a small penis.

They are jealous and unfortunately some people take a close relationship as a green light to comment without a filter. Defriend them or delete their comments.... or even better... use it to fuel your fire. You're doing great things with yourself and there's going to be those who can't handle it.
