I had posted earlier that I would like to get to 110 (I am 5 ft). Really my goal is to lose weight, flatten my belly, slim down my rear and thighs, and firm up my arms. I really wouldn'tt care what the scale said if I looked like Jillian Michaels. That's my goal.

Isn't it crazy that something so small as that affects us -- especially during middle and high school. I am trying sooooo hard to make my son (almost 12) and daughter (9) understand that they should do fitness/sports even if they are not the "best" or on the A team -- just along as they like doing it.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Can anyone else point to a time in their lives that impacted their weight/fitness level that they wish they could go back and change? Mine was definitely moving in the middle of Junior High (middle school now for most).

What exactly is the message? I have been below 1200 calories before and I have not received that message.

Great information. Thanks!

Hi ladies, I have had Hashimoto's since 22 and have been off and on with medications since (I am 43) based on my numbers. My Dr. wants to remove my Thyroid now due to nodules and a goiter. I have had the nodules biospied about 10 yrs ago and they were beign (at least hopefully based on the posts) and they have grown since…

I work at home and I get up at 5:30 AM to work out. Just easier that way. BTW, I am a recovering night owl so I had to readjust my internal clock.

Hard call. I would suggest either the tortilla soup and sald without shell and sour cream. You could ask for a side of guac instead if they don't use sour cream in the recipe -- which I never understood why people do that. The soup should be pretty low in calories and will fill you up. Tacos tend to be pretty low cal if…

Love this thread. Being above that 40 mark always brings challenges .

The nutritional info does not include whatever beverage you are adding the powder to.

Hi -- We buy whey protein for GNC or Max Muscle. I like Optimum's 100% Gold Standard Whey Protein in Vanilla Ice Cream and Double Chocolate. It is "instantized" so you don't need a blender or shaker -- just stir until it is dissolved. They have other flavors like cookies and cream, etc. You add a rounded scoop (that comes…

Hi -- My husband and I have just started P90. We just finished the 6-day fat burning portion and now have moved onto week 1 (my husband says week 2) of the actual program. I lost 4.5 lbs the first week but the diet was very low in calories and carbs. I love the structure and the workout of the program so far.

Hi -- Thank you for the links. You were right -- I had not read seen or read them. One thing I did find out from the links and other searches on the internet was that the BMI/BMR is not accurate for really short people (i.e., 5 ft) or super tall people which makes sense. Actually the BMI page of this site states/warns that…

Thank you all for all your suggestions and advice. It is nice to hear from people who are actually doing this. Thanks!

I guess that is what is confusing. A 5'6" women around my age has the same calorie per day as me who is 5'0. BTW, I am 5'0 and 142 lbs (as of today) which is considered overweight. I have just started "dieting" last week and finished the quick start/1 week program that comes with the Power 90 fitness program. I just did…

You need to consider your age also. When I was in high school I was 93 lbs. Now at 43 93 lbs would be way too low.

I am 5 ft and currently weigh 143. My goal is 110. In my 20s I was 100-108 and thought I was fat. In my 30s, I got down to 115 after 2 kids and thought I looked great until i saw pictures. My hips and thighs were still larger than I liked. So now in my 40s I would like to try 110 and see how I feel. I think it depends on…

Hi -- I know I am a women but my husband and I decided to try Power 90 BEFORE we do P90X. Our research showed that Power 90 was a better choice for us to start off with since it was not quite that intense as P90X. When I first viewed the video (without trying it), I thought there was no way we could get any real results.…
