  • My good friend(who is training for next fitness model competition) , has a cheat day on Sunday only where she eats whatever she wants and during week has pre-planned, 1300 cal diet. Works for her.
  • PS-total weight loss journey after started working out was only 5 weeks compared to 5 years..
  • Really-hips spread?? too funny! I was way over-weight after second child and I am 5'7-weighed 210 pounds. Stopped drinking and lost 20. Stopped eating as much and got down to 150. Stopped eating as much AND working-out 5 times a week for one hour and now weigh 140. That's my almost gw of 135. Good Luck!!
  • It has happened to me! I started at 148. Lost 9 pounds then, nada. Why? Because it takes less calories to keep me at 139 per day then, 148. So, either I can decrease my 1200(not gonna happen) or throw in some more exercise.
  • 1600 cal sounds great. How many calories do you burn, usually-per day?
  • Ugh, I have been reading and working at this for months and the only way to lose weight is simply eating less cal than you burn. I try not to complicate it w-omg!-what if I lose muscle this way??? Not the way my body works. I donno about others but, it's simple to figure out. I still have muscle and less fat eating at a…
  • Don't forget to take into account your "hidden" water you're getting from foods such as jello, coffee, melons-juicy fruits, cereal w/milk...etc. I do try and drink an additional 4 bottles of water per day to make sure I am getting the basic 64oz recommended daily!
  • I am 5'6.5"( every bit counts;) and goal weight was 135. Started at 148. But, now that I am 139 may change it to 130 since I still seem to need to lose fat. Or, tone -up to looking great in a bikini, whichever comes first!
  • Mine is public. However, I think many make the mistake I did on app for MFP and assume it is automatically set to public Mine was not and I had to do this in settings.
  • I am 5'6 and started back in May at 148. Goal is around 133-135. Right now I am at 139. This is a good ques as to does the calorie need decrease as I decrease in wt. it seems I am not losing but, have maintained at 139-140 for 2weeks now even though my NET cal is around 1000-1200 per day. Before this I was losing at rate…
  • I am 5'7 and weigh 139. Started at 148. Medium build. My goal was 135 but, as I am only 4pounds away thinking maybe 130 since I still need to lose inches. Losing tougher now!
  • I am a little over 5'6 and currently weigh 139. I have't measured myself but, I go on how I look overall based on my frame size. I am medium frame-according to internet measurement of bony part of my elbow. The frame size seems to make a rather large difference in what weight looks good on what frame. For instance, close…
  • I try to include as much protien, veggies and fruits as possible. I am on the 1200 cal per day allowance so I do try and incorporate as many nutrient-dense foods as I can. Protein helps keep me full: hard boiled eggs, tuna and chicken are easy lower calorie ideas to include in your diet rather than hamburger-which tends to…
  • Do you record all of your cal? Start there. Mfp usually will give average of 1200 cal/day to lose 1-2 pounds a week.
  • This is exactly where I am at w/my weight! I have lost 7 pounds . Thought I needed to lose another 6 but, I go down 1, gain 2the nextvweek, etc.. I am still on 1200 cal and working out w-weights etc 5days/week.. Maybe it is best to give it that 5 pound wiggle room. Then, guess I only have 1 more to lose? Ugh
  • I also like Publix brand(store brand) cereal-like generic wheaties and cherios. Cheaper, just as good
  • I use alot of pre-cooked frozen chicken breast strips. Although they can get a little pricey, they work well for one person and can be microwaved anytime-single serving for salads or meals..and are great tasting!
  • I do not eat back all of my exercise cal but, about 1/2 like others did because mfp over-estimated my burns by 100 cal or more at times. I found my work out online -video, and it gave me the actual cal burned. Went from 386 by mfp to 254. I would recommend u do the same and be more certain u are not making this mistake and…
  • I get it. But, it has taken me exactly 9 weeks to lose 9 pounds. That's 1200 cal/day and exercise 5times/week for 30-45 min..but, hey good luck!
  • 1200 is low and I thought the same thing. That was 9 weeks ago and 9pounds ago. What I did learn was I need to exercise and then, eat about 1/2 my exercise cal back because mfp was way overestimating my burns. This gave me around 1300-1400 cal per day that I would eat 30 percent protein , 20 percent fat and 60 percent…
  • Sounds like you can do a variety of non-weight bearing exercise like you mentioned(at least no weight on that toe.) Otherwise, isn't a fast sort of drastic? I am sure your body needs the nutrients to heal that toe!
  • t Totally agree. Only been two months for me. Surely takes more than that to change a lifetime of no exercise for me!
  • I only have 5 more pounds until I reach my goal as well. Everyone seems to tell me strength training is the answer. I have not reached a plateau (yet)-will weigh in on Thur so will see. But, I am not counting on a measly 5 pounds to make me perfect either because I have shed 9 so far and only see a small difference in way…
  • I think and have read that it is much more difficult when you have less to lose. I am 5'6 and weighed 148 9 weeks ago. Now I weigh 139-as of last Tues. I refuse to weigh again until this Tue. I find if I try and weigh myself more I see those 2-3 pounds in water, etc and get so pissed! However, there have been times where I…
  • I was just reading some ideas in this months Shape mag for work-outs from your desk, etc. maybe google some on internet and use the ones that won't cause further damage until u heal.
  • Just as prev posts said:I save mine for later! I try to stick to about 600 during the day since I work 8-5. Then, other half I have at night -600, to = 1200. I do go over at times to about 1300 but, am losing around 1 pound per week still!
  • Me too!!! His Total Body Sculpt videos are all dvr'd and I use do them about 3-4 days a week! These are newer than his older Bodies In Motion. Noticed Bodies' one is only about 20+min minus the commercials so try doing the longer and much more intense Sculpt ones! Either way I have found a fave!!
  • Sound advice! I believe increasing cal only has slowed my progress. Was not until I increased work-outs and really ate a cleaner more balanced diet did I see real results
  • This is exactly what happened to me last week! Started lifting and gained back 3 pounds! But, today (5 days later) lost the 3 gained plus 1 more! Likely inflamed muscle tissue causing gain. If you do not see a change in a week re-consider the amount of cal you are eating per day may need to be lower or don't eat the cal…
