  • I can't help you with the science of bodybuilding, but I am in the last week of Push phase with Clalean and will begin Lean phase on Monday. The difference in my body is incredible. I lost over 20 lbs 2 years ago cardio only but was not happy with my results. I wish I had done research regarding importance of strength…
  • I'm 5'2" and agree every pound shows on shorties! I started at 142 lbs and currently at 130 lbs, goal weight of 120 lbs. 2 years ago I successfully lost and got to 112 lbs but felt too thin, I had only done cardio and was "skinny fat." This time I worked with a trainer and am doing a combination of weights 3x week and…
  • I'm in! SW: 142 CW: 133 GW by 3/31: 129 UGW: 120
  • I did Insanity and T25. I got results but NOT as much as I would have if I had committed more to changing my diet. I loved both programs. I just started Chalean Extereme last week and love it so far. Good luck to you!
  • Husband is taking me out to an Italian restaurant we love, so it will definitely be a splurge. I exercised a lot today and ate a light breakfast and lunch so hopefully won't be too over my goals....but I am avoiding all sweets. He knows not to buy me candy and I have not touched anything the kids have gotten.
  • If I have the calories, I love pasta for dinner. I had 4 oz the other night with a little olive oil and feta cheese and it was heaven.
  • Thanks so much for the info! I am going to look into that. I have done Insanity and T25 and enjoyed it a lot. I tried weights at the gym, even hired a personal trainer to get me into a routine and learn how to do everything safely. But, I hate it! I love cardio, kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, running but I really hate lifting!…
  • You look incredible! Our bodies actually look very similar (your before pics anyway!) How tall are you? I am 5'2" and I started at 142 lbs. I am currently 137 lbs and goal weight is 120. I lost about 25 lbs 2 years ago, got down to 112 lbs but I was "skinny fat." I see the you avoided that with the lifting. Can you tell me…
  • I am willing! Now that kids are back in school evenings will be busy, so I am planning to have a few drinks on Saturday night only to save on calories.
  • Hi Amber....I am close (Richmond, VA) but not close enough! What kind of training are you doing? A program? I am about to start Strong Lifts soon when I am done with my personal trainer end of the month.
  • I agree, I need to take pics. I actually took pics last September after I lost about 20 lbs (Skinny Fat) so I was thinner but still too high BF %. I will try to get some this weekend, thanks!
  • I know I am never going to have long, "skinny" legs (I totally accept that) but I am hoping to looked toned in that when I walk around in a bikini I don't feel like I have fat on my thighs flopping around. Just to be tighter, I guess? Maybe I am just being impatient!
  • Hi! Welcome! Feel free to send me a friend request. I have twin boys age 10 and twin girls that are 4. I am a bit further out than 7 weeks but I can remember how it felt! I didn't have weight problems til after I quit breastfeeding the girls at 14 months- then I gained about 20 lbs within the next year. Any questions…
  • Vodka and soda or vodka tonic with a lime, Smirnoff Sorbet Light with Sprite Zero, Parrot Bay Strawberry or passion fruit rum with Sprite Zero.
  • Just want to give my 2 cents....our stats very similar, I was 142 lbs at 5'3'' and I did 1,200 calories for most of 2014, I got to my goal of 115 lbs. I was definitely thinner, but my body fat % was still higher than I wanted. When you lose weight, you lose muscle as well as fat. I wish I knew what I knew now- I should…
  • This!!!! This poster is absolutely correct. I love my lower body workout days because it's easier for me....doesn't mean I can ignore how weak I am in upper body. Can deadlift, back squat and front squat moderately heavy (I'm only 8 weeks in!) but can barely bench press a 45 lb barbell. Trainer told that's normal- women…
  • Hi! I was the same way....so overwhelmed! I read New Rules of Lifting for Women (which is great, btw) but I still needed help with proper form, what weight to begin with, reps, etc. I hired a trainer and am doing very well, getting very comfortable. I know it is very easy to hurt yourself with free weights if not done…
  • This!!! I spent all of 2014 doing cardio and eating at a deficit....got to my goal of 115 lbs from 142 lbs. Guess what?? I was just a smaller version of myself with still way to high BF %. I have spent 2015 upping my calories and hired a trainer to begin lifting heavy, and 8 weeks in I see more difference in my body, more…
  • This!!!! I started at 140 lbs last year and through counting calories religiously and cardio (Insanity, T25, Jillian Michaels) I got to my goal of 115 lbs in less than a year. But I was skinny fat, and still not happy. I upped my calories and hired a personal trainer and am now lifting weights. I can see more difference in…
  • I just started with a trainer recently so I am new to lifting. Have been doing a variety of upper body (pull ups, rows, pushups, some things I don't know the name for!) and lower body (deadlifts, back squats with barbell, pushing weighted sled). Anyway, she says no complex carbs for awhile (bread, pasta, rice) and to aim…
  • You look incredible @ 150. How tall are you? I'm sorry about rough year, good luck on the 43 lbs!
  • Congrats to you! Awesome job.
  • I think you are awesome! I love this thread- I have never been obese, but I think everyone should feel happy in their own skin and I felt chubby and unhealthy 26 lbs ago. It's a personal choice- ironically, my husband liked me better at 140 lbs (he likes curves) than 115 lbs, but he knows I am happier and feel much better…
  • I think as mothers we always feel guilty about something. Exercise is important to our mental and physical well-being and I don't think you should feel any guilt whatsoever. I feel guilty about being gone working a 12-hour shift, having a date night, having to miss school activities at times. We aren't always going to feel…
  • I have the same issue- need to have something sweet after dinner. I LOVE Breyer's no sugar added vanilla ice cream- 80 cal for 1/2 cup and Keeble cone- 20 cal. I also love Dole banana dippers in dark chocolate- 4 for 100 cal. Just work what you want into calorie goal for the day. I completely agree with pre-logging- it…
  • I've had same issue. I simply added a Colace 100 mg before bedtime and that seems to have solved the problem.
  • I have lost 21 lbs since 2/3....It can be done. I have only missed 2 or 3 days of working out in 3 months and stick to clean diet. It's a commitment but can be done. Good luck!
  • OMG totally agree! My idiot husband brought home birthday cake the other day from the office "cause the they were going to throw it away." Wanted to kill him.
