I know how to use a leg press and have squatted with free weights, done cable kickbacks for my butt...but not much else! Any tips on how to begin (websites, advice, what to do)? :)

I'd recommend a program like Strong Lifts.

Hi! I was the same way....so overwhelmed! I read New Rules of Lifting for Women (which is great, btw) but I still needed help with proper form, what weight to begin with, reps, etc. I hired a trainer and am doing very well, getting very comfortable. I know it is very easy to hurt yourself with free weights if not done correctly, and machines don't do as much as free weights. Good luck!

I would second that recommendation...getting a personal trainer in the beginning is very helpful. They can create a program and show you proper form. Having a program or workout to follow will help you feel confident in the gym. If you don't want to pay for a personal trainer then checkout BodyBuilder.com or even UTube for free workouts. Also check out the previous posts about all the tools on BodyBuilder.com.
