Good Morning, you all are rockin' as always. I hope you all are having a great Halloween! I'm a Spartan Racer! Last night's workout went so well. I'm really, really happy with it! Warm up with some @$$ to the grass body weight squats Squat 5x5 @ 35lbs. These suckers still hurt, but I can feel that I'm getting better. My…

Aine are you taking measurements? If you're pants are getting lose, I bet you're loosing inches. Congrats on your last day of Plank H3ll lol. Sammie, we all have those days and I'm glad you're not beating yourself up over it because you've been doing great! I'm either going to go to the gym tonight, which I hope to go but…

I usually grab a banana and some water about 30 mins before.

Oh and yes, it does get better :) Make sure your form is correct, my first round I wasn't in correct form and it was the front of my thighs, now its my whole thigh and rear too.

get some icy/hot, it burns but helps in the long run and yes, I'd take an extra day and up the protein. My first day.. oh man, I never wanted to squat, sit, anything that involved my legs, ever, ever again

Work out A last night for me too! And Officially finished my first week of Stronglifts 5x5! Squat, 5x5 @35lbs. I tried to use the rack and couldn't do it, I just always go down too far and then I get stuck. So I'm doing the box squats, or bench because that's what I'm using. Either way, I think I'm really improving on…

I really love workouts after a good run. I remember when I used to do way too many burpees a day, I would run and then come home and pound them out in about 20 mins or so. Felt amazing. Almost to level 3 my friend! How are you feeling, clothes fitting looser yet? I finished my first week of stronglifts 5x5 last night and…

Welcome! There's lots of us newbies here, and lots of veterans and plenty of amazing people who reach out and are helpful.

Hey there. I'm also a noob ;) however I read A LOT, haha. Anyways, as far as what I can tell, you CAN use dumbbells for the lower weights, but once you start getting up there, you need a barbell, just because it's going to be harder to manage two 50 lb dumbbells VS a 100 lb barbell. Correct me if I'm wrong pros ;)

NICE!!! Keep going! You guys are amazing. I know a lot of people don't give enough credit to the shred, but I've been there and I KNOW how brutal each day is. You're all so inspiring!

Thanks! I'm excited to go tonight, still sore, but upping my protein and trying to remember that the best way to get through this is straight ahead. I was told several times that I'm going to be sore as heck the first month and I have to just keep moving. Those squats are murderous lol.

I made it to the gym for Workout B! And this time I didn't quite feel as out of place Squats 0@45 lbs, the bar glued my body to the floor, luckily hubby picked it up off me 4x5 @ 20 lbs, I was so happy to find this bar. Oh and I put a bench behind me so I knew how far to go down. A tip from another lifter and it helped so…

Dang guys, you're all tearing it up in here! Great job! I made it to the gym Saturday and was a little less apprehensive about being there. I found what I believe is the female Olympic barbell (35lbs instead of 45lbs) and used that. It was still rough, and I'm sore EVERYWHERE, but it felt good to lift. Keep at it guys :)

I've never done one single pull-up in my entire life. But one day, one day, I will get there!
-
I don't think I ever followed the advanced girl, She was just out of my league haha. Great job!
-
That's great! It's nice when other people can see it too!

No inches at all? I'm not doing the program currently, but I've done it before, after 19 days you should have lost some. Are you pushing hard on the workout and eating right, getting adequate sleep and water? I'm sure something will happen soon for you. I hope that EX is green with envy of what is no longer his ;)

Watch some you tube videos. Buff Dudes had some good ones about what not to do when you squat and it helped me tremendously. From one newbie to another.. hello! Yesterday was my first session. Squats are my weakest point so far.

Oh wow, is that Scobby site accurate? I don't eat near enough. I changed my calories now.

It does get boring quick, but try and tough it out, it's only a few minutes. You can do it! It's so worth it!
-
haha Sammie, it's shark week for me too! No fun, no fun at ALL. I did get to the gym yesterday and I'm a lot stronger than I thought. I made it through my first workout of stronglifts and it was hard, oh man.. my whole body is achy today, but it was amazing to watch myself lift those weights. Keep on keeping shredders!
-
I used to eat some burpees for every meal, whats a burp-out lol? Anyways, I did it! I went the gym and lifted heavy things. I'm so happy and proud. Here's how it went: Warm up with body weight squats, just a few because I was afraid that if I did too many I wouldn't be able to try with weights. Then I used the assisted…

I've heard that chuck taylors are common shoes for weightlifting. That's what I'm going to do it with. Well at first I'll have to do it in tennis shoes because it's all I've got.

Thank you!!
-
Me too! Have you started it yet? Today will be my official first day!
-
Thanks for the warm welcome, and yes I've been asking questions and getting a taste of the "bomb-ness" of this group ;)

Great job guys! So there is now 2 in level 2? that right? I forgot how long the planks are, but planking all the way through is amazing!! I got my gym membership yesterday and I'm getting under the barbell tonight. Whew... nervous
