I've been stalking for a bit to see if this group would accept a complete beginner and you ladies are so inspiring! I still have yet to get a gym membership but I have a bar that I'm practicing form with. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself so hi!

Smaller sets?
I saw there was another program, starting strength, and i think the set are 5x3 VS 5x5, would that be a better starting point? Or do most just jump right into the 5x5?

warm ups?
I'm really new and so I'm going to lucky to get through the 5x5 squats, so squatting for warm ups I'm really afraid to try. Maybe a quick jog on the treadmill? What else can I do to get my body ready to lift? Any advice is SO much needed! Jumping the gun and joining a gym today.. yikes!

Am I doing this right?
I'm practicing my form with either no weight or my little 5.8 lb bar and the squats are killing me! I did maybe 3 sets 5 and the whole fronts my thighs and the backs of my thighs are killing me, ouch.. are these the right places to be sore? hell there is no way I can do that with a 45 lb bar...
