  • I tried that once and it made me gag. It tasted vile and there were all bits floating in the glass. I could have assurances that it would help me lose a pound a day, and I still would never drink vinegar from a glass again!
  • People have said to me that you look just right now/don't lose any more (I've lost around 12 pounds so far), and it really plays with your head because I know for a fact that at 144 pounds I am nowhere near my ideal weight and have at least 20 pounds to go to tone up my thighs and stomach. I don't know why people say that…
  • If you only weighed 129 pounds to start with then you're not going to drop a lot of weight in the first few weeks the way that someone significantly overweight might, you're looking more at toning. You've said that you've lost a pound a week, plus inches which is most important, so I'm not sure what expectations you had?…
  • That's exactly what I found lol. I walk about 11,000-13,00 steps at work and it's tempting to look at calories burned and decide to eat them back, but you will gain weight if you're logging just regular walking around. Going for a purposefully brisk walk and really getting your heart rate up is one thing, but your body has…
  • On an average workday I get in about 11,000-13,000 steps, sometimes more. I just count it as daily living though, when I was eating extra to make up for the calories that my fitbit was telling me that I had burned, I found that I gained weight from that. I eat around 1,800 calories daily now anyway, so I try to only eat…
  • Lol I tried that a couple of times mixed with honey and water, but I could not bring myself to continue. It tasted absolutely foul and the bits floating in the glass made me gag,
  • If you're doing the 5:2 diet to lose weight quickly then you really shouldn't be eating both KFC and takeaway on your normal eating days because your body will just store it as fat, remember that your previous calorie restrictions and your current fasting has likely slowed your metabolism down. It's better to try gradually…
  • I've found the same thing. I've lost 11 pounds, but my stomach is still the same size and I don't feel any area of my body looks significantly different, so I'm not sure where I'm losing it from. I'm 10 stone ten pounds at the moment so you'd think the weight loss would be at least somewhat obvious, but I feel like I look…
  • I haven't lost as much as you! But I'm similar in that I've lost 10 pounds recently and I can't see any difference at all which is frustrating, my stomach looks exactly the same size to me so I've no idea where I lost the weight from
  • Agreeing with everyone else that getting some counselling is your best bet. Presumedly when you're binging you carry on eating past the point of feeling full/it getting physically painful, so you would end up doing exactly the same with the gastric band and possibly harming yourself as well. The only thing it will change…
  • I try to just weight myself in the morning, but I usually get curious and hop on a few times during the day as well. Morning weigh-in is what I always go by though
  • Mine are still pretty big and I always felt like there was no significant loss, but when I look back at old photos from when I was 3 stone bigger than today they do look really maasive to me lol, so they must have gone down a bit. But if you have big boobs now then they will probably stay more or less that way no matter…
  • I wasn't losing ANYTHING when I upped my calories, I would have been satisfied with any gradual weight loss, however small
  • I looked it up for my stats a while ago, it said that my body needs 1,400 calories minimum to survive on, and that my maintaince weight is 2,200 calories. I did listen to advice on here and ate at around 1,500-1,600 calories for well over a month, but all my body did was maintain my weight. Yes my weight loss stalled at…
  • Thanks :) I have since decided to eat at around 1,500 calories when I'm very active at work and on my feet all day, but in my days off I'm still going to stick to 1,200 calories as that seriously seems to be the only way that I can lose weight. Some people refuse to believe that the BMR calculations don't work for everyone…
  • I was told through online calculators that my maintaince for my size was ALREADY 2,200 calories and that I would lose at 1,500, no one said that you has to eat more to first train your body to maintain on 2,000?
  • That's part of why I was confused at all the advise of you will maintain at 2,200 and lose at 1,500. Because I can't say for sure obviously, but I don't think that I was eating all that much above 2000 calories when I gained weight in the first place. I wasn't measuring calories so I can't say for sure, but I've never been…
  • Thanks for this post, that was really helpful! Honestly if anything I think that I was starting to overeat on 1, 500 calories. It sounds silly, but I had a post asking about it cause when you're sticking to lots of healthy fruit and veg, an egg for breakfast (mine weigh in at 103 calories) etc, my meals just weren't all…
  • So then what is the solution for me? Because my weight loss stalled more on 1, 500 calories than it ever did on 1, 200
  • Yep, I'm wondering if some peoples metabolisms really are slower than average and there's nothing we can do about it, eating at 1,500 calories sure didn't make mine move any faster
  • I was hoping eating that way would reset my metabolism, but yeah I'm wondering if we are all different and it just won't work for some people? (I'm 31) Right now I'm planning to stay at 1,200 calories, and then hopefully gradually increase it each week back to 1,500-1,600 once I'm ready to start maintaining my weight. But…
  • If you enter your exercise calories on the MFP app then it should take that off your overall calories for the day and tell you to eat more to make up the right amount
  • Yep same, I know how to dress to flatter myself, but that's a long way from being at my ideal weight
  • Yeah I agree, I think a lot of people say that when you're dieting and plannig to lose more because they panic about you getting carried away and losing a little bit too much
  • I feel the exact same way. I've lost 8 pounds which you'd think would be a pretty significant difference (I'm 153 at the moment), but I look down at my stomach and swear it looks exactly the same
  • I find that sometimes too, today I had a protein bar as a mid-afternoon snack and it filled me up so much that I couldn't manage any dinner after that
  • Sugar is the one I always always go over on too
  • Are you sure you're not overestimating your work-out calories? And I have the same problem with food. It sounds stupid, but I read here about people having cheat days of 3000 calories and I honestly don't even understand HOW you can eat that many calories in a day. I'm struggling with eating enough for 1,500 calories at…
  • Okay thanks! I'm just confused because everyone is always saying stuff like cheese or idk roast potatoes are good occasionally but not all the time, so I feel like I should cut back on stuff like that if I want to adopt a healthier eating habit, but I can't get much above 1,200 calories if I do eat completely healthy with…
