You are freaking gorgeous. I started at 357 pounds. You can add me if you want. :)

Ugh. I mention "Turbo Jam", and all the BeachBody coaches blow up my Inbox to sell me shakes. Happens every time...

Sounds perfect! :) I need something challenging to get myself out of this rut. Plus, I'm getting kind of bored with the DVDs I have. I've been blowing off exercise on occasion not because I don't want to, but because I don't feel like doing any of the workouts I own. I have some new stuff bookmarked on Amazon, so I might…

It also helps to weigh yourself first thing in the morning, after you use the bathroom. Food and liquids add weight throughout the day. My weight goes up 2-3 pounds by the time the day is over. Also, some foods (like high-sodium food or a crazy amount of carbs) can cause bloat. Whenever I eat pizza, I gain two pounds…

Also keep in mind that the more weight you lose, the more you'll have to pay for alterations. They generally don't recommend losing weight during the last few weeks because you've had your final fitting. You don't want the dress to sag. A dress that fits well on a 250-pound frame looks MUCH better than a dress sagging on a…

Nope. Family members' comments just made me more stressed out, which caused me to binge and fueled my social anxiety. It was a vicious circle. Besides myself and the mirror, my boyfriend was a huge catalyst. He never, ever said a word, and he was always SO nice about making sure we went to restaurants where I could fit or…

You can always make up for it the next day. Remember to think in terms of weekly calories, not daily. There are days I end up red, but there are days I'm well into the green too. It all evens out. If I have a piece of cake or some other treat, and there's no way I can exercise it off or make up for it that day, I just eat…

Not all Medifast plans are 1000-1200 calories. My friend is on one that is 1400-1600 calories per day, and the plan advises you to not exercise too hard, as it will put you under calories. They recommend walking 30 minutes per day once you're used to the plan (they say to give it 2-3 weeks). They further advise that if you…

I'm around 300 pounds. Would it be better to start with 30DS or the new Body Revolution workout? Is one harder than the other? I have to keep it pretty low-impact, but I have decent strength and flexibility since I swim and do Turbo Jam pretty often.

Lane Bryant's jeans suck for pear shapes now (they've forgotten how to make jeans for super curvy women and think everyone has little legs and no booty). I really, really, really miss their Right Fit jeans. I love Avenue. They've maintained their curvy cut and fit pear shapes really well. They're the only jeans that cover…

Oh, and the little flower grows as you do more activity. If you go for a long walk, it will get taller and taller. If you sit for a while, it will go back to just a couple leaves. The idea is to keep the flower as tall as possible. I managed to get it to max level for a while the other day when I walked all over campus…

When you're doing anything but walking or stair-climbing (real stairs, not the machine), the Fitbit has trouble registering it. For DVDs and such, you'll want to input your exercise on MFP. If you have MFP linked to your Fitbit, it will ask you to put the start time and end time of your exercise session. That way, if you…

Someone else (in the Fitbit group) figured it out. MFP is about four hours behind my Fitbit sync times.

I get what the OP is saying. I think of it like "stuff my grandmother ate when she was my age". Back when you made everything from scratch, bought meat from the local farmer/butcher, bought veggies, fruit, and dairy from local farmers, etc. No additives or preservatives. Everything was canned to keep it good through the…

The time zone is correct. My Fitbit matches my time zone too. It happened again last night. I checked at 12:15 AM, and it said I was about 200 calories over for yesterday, but when I woke up this morning, it said I was 900 calories over. /rageface How could it be one way after midnight and then another way this morning? I…

I have it set to two pounds per week, and my daily allowance is 1660.

But your pancreas would hate you. ;) This is how people develop insulin resistance. It really is a good idea to eat a healthy amount of carbs, which is probably half of what the average person (not on MFP - just average person on the street) eats every day. I logged one of my average, pre-MFP days once just to see what I'd…

I have it set to sedentary. I should have mentioned that. :) I haven't worked out the past week because I have, literally, been getting four hours of sleep every night and either working or writing my thesis. Since I work 50-60 hours per week and have class twice per week, I can really only work out on weekends. This thing…

If you aren't diabetic or pre-diabetic (insulin resistant), then you can go with the normal recommendations others provided.

Precisely. And just because the OP isn't married and doesn't have kids doesn't mean her opinion is invalid or that she doesn't have a right to ask. I'm childfree (yaaaaaaaay!), but I still ask my friends parenting questions and kid questions because I'm genuinely curious, and they're always happy to talk about their kids…

If you're happy with the way you look and feel, you could switch gradually. Eat another 100-200 calories per day this week and then another 200-ish next week (or whatever you need to get up there) until you get to maintenance so it isn't this feeling of, "Holy cow I just ate so much food!" It's similar to easing into…

If you're worried about someone finding them in that person's trash, simply take them to another dumpster and/or wrap them in a ton of other trash and triple-bag it.

Don't weigh yourself at the end of the day. You'll almost always be heavier because you ate and drank throughout the day. Most people are 2-4 pounds heavier at night.

I'd trust the BodyMedia if that's working for you. MFP's numbers can be skewed. To answer the initial question, though, it comes back to the "fill a car with gas" analogy. Some people end up too far in deficit and need to eat a bit to get back up to a decent calorie number. Some people eat very little and exercise a ton…

Your WAIST. Holy cow! You look wonderful. You have a beautiful hourglass frame. I also have PCOS. I found that the extended-release metformin didn't give me any side effects, so I've been taking it for a year. I also keep my carbs around 100g or 25% of my daily intake, whatever is lower. I also try to link carbs with…

This only happens to me if I eat the bad-for-you carbs, like a donut or pasta or something. It can take as long as two days to get rid of the cravings (since they stack), so I'm reaaaalllly careful now. I've been so much happier on the metformin (not being hungry all the time is so freeing). Could it be your cycle? I…

It's your weekly average that counts. If you're truly hungry, eat something, and then exercise a little bit more or eat a little less tomorrow. I always end up under my calories on Thursdays because I swim for an hour, so I get to overeat a little on Fridays to make up for it. It all balances out.
