Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness

I definitely have a FitBit. I'm excited to see that day's step count. :)
-
Thanks! :) I appreciate that.

Just keep an eye on your weekly calories. I try to hit the weekly average rather than stick to the same calories every day. I like the variety, and I think it helps my weight loss. Plus, it gives me some wiggle room if we go out to dinner or go to a party.

Oh gosh, yes. They can be sort of expensive, but I know many women who continued to take them after their kids were born.

Have you spoken to your doctor? Some insurance will cover skin surgery if you've lost a certain percentage of your original weight and have kept it off for X amount of time. Your doctor will also need to document how it's affecting you. If you're experiencing pretty bad chafing underneath, they'll document that as well, as…

There's sore, and then there's TOO sore. You should feel sore but not so sore that you can hardly move. I think your body is telling you you're overdoing it. Make sure you do all of your stretches, and make sure you hydrate. Drink lots and lots of water to help your muscles heal. Also, make sure you're getting plenty of…

You could approach them with something like, "Guys, I really appreciate you feeding me. Seriously. But I'm getting fat again, so maybe we can cut down on the restaurant trips?" If I were your friend and you said something like that, I'd say, "No problem!" and then find other things to do for you, like paying for your movie…

Since you're having bloating/pain, there might be something else going on. Once your doctor rules out something physical, I suggest talking to a therapist.

Congrats! You look wonderful. It's amazing how much of a difference ten pounds makes when you weigh under 200. I bet you'll even see a huge difference after the next five pounds. :)

Oh, that makes sense. I just misunderstood the original post. :)

Exactly this. I felt like I had less time for homework and such, but then I had to be honest with myself and admit that exercise and cooking cut into Netflix time, not homework time.

Do you mean 6 months? 60 months is five years. :) I agree that the calculator is encouraging, but I use it as a guideline. I know some months will be worse than others. It's still awesome, though.

The machines at the gym get it wrong constantly. You can't rely on that calorie count either because the machine has no idea how hard you're working. Heart rate monitors can help. I use a Polar FT4. Nothing is 100% accurate, though, unless you're hooked up to fancy machines at the doctor's office and they measure your…

Mine vary. I've done the weight loss thing a few times now, and they always start off pretty light, but then they go right back to this:

You look amazing! Congratulations! Great job sticking with it. :)

Congratulations! I love your motivational quotes.

A 6-ounce bottle of Boost "Glucose Control" has 190 calories, 16g of carbs, 3g fiber, and 16g of protein.

Congrats! You ARE a success story, so don't say things like, "I'm not a success story yet..." Think of all the people you know who want to lose 5-10 pounds but haven't, and you've lost ONE HUNDRED. :) Also, I have PCOS, and I know just how hard it is to get that scale to move and those inches to come off. It is a daily,…

You might want to find out if some of the sporting goods stores in your area offer layaway plans. A couple of the stores here do. It would be worth an extra $400 to get something that won't fall apart on you. Some of them even offer free delivery and assembly.

There are people like this everywhere (and I mean actual jerks, not just people who disagree with you on a message board). You will not change them. Learn to ignore them and let it go.

Great job! Plateaus are so frustrating. I also eat at maintenance for a couple of weeks when I hit one, and then bam - four pounds will drop off as soon as I start restricting calories again.
-
Staying under 40 is why you're tempted to binge. You should really re-introduce carbs back in (slowly) after the intial two weeks of staying around 20-30. After that, you should eat 40-60 for several weeks and then 80-100 for "maintenance". If your weight loss slows at 80-100, scale back until you find your magic number. I…

I lost my first 40 pounds walking around my neighborhood. It has a couple of big hills, and I kept challenging myself to get up those hills faster and with less breath "lost". I started out panting my way up, feeling like death, and then it got to the point where they were a challenge but I didn't feel winded at the top.…

I eat pizza, chocolate, mac & cheese, and ice cream all the time. The difference is that I eat one piece of pizza instead of four, a Hershey mini or one Lindt truffle instead of a candy bar, a half-cup of mac & cheese instead of the entire box, and a half-cup of ice cream instead of a pint (or I'll have a cup of frozen…

Calories, carbs, water/sodium (if my sodium gets too high, I drink more than my water goal)

I loooooove Turbo Jam and The Firm. Turbo Jam's cardio stuff doesn't use weights. The Firm does, but dumbells are pretty cheap (about $1/pound). If you don't want to buy those, you can use canned goods. :) You can find 30-Day Shred on YouTube along with a bunch of other workouts. I found Richard Simmons' "Sweatin' to the…
