Hello everyone from the vast wilderness of months off 5:2. My lame excuse was that I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and put on steroids which turned me into the Very Hungry Caterpillar for several months. So now I'm back and looking forward to getting back on the wagon. Also feeling much better. Very nice to hear that…

well it's coming off from somewhere! Sounds like you're losing from the top down. Well done!

Hi Nadia and welcome! Lunchtime try a packet of chicken noodle soup. It does fill you up. If you need something sweet a teaspoon of peanut butter generally does the trick for me, or a diet coke ( not very healthy!) But perhaps the best thing to do is say 'I can have that tomorrow'. Good luck - it really does work.

my sil is a lovely lady but mil, not so much. when I dropped my weight it really pissed her off and one of my main reasons for staying slim is to annoy her as she keeps saying it won't last. When she comes to stay and is nasty to me, I nip into my room for five minutes, try a nice dress on, have a look in the mirror, then…

hi luvdogs and welcome aboard. bburg - the weekend's not so far away, and carby you're doing great!
-
sweets and biscuits are my downfall on FD . I have the mind of a six year old.
-
What a vile woman. Poor you x
-
All sounding very positive gals. Enjoy what is left of your weekend!

eyes on the prize then missus x

well done everyone! I have been awful this week - four semi-fasts ie. really good until 4pm and then inability to walk past biscuits, chocolate eggs and walnut bread. Two parents' evenings haven't helped. So under 1000 but pure rubbish and junk. But I tell myself the immediate goal is losing the last stubborn 5lbs and then…

ooh, another one. as i type, my arm is resting on a hip bone. yes, a bone , people. who knew there was an actual skeleton under that tummy?
-
yeah - i gave up mumsnet 5:2 as I spent too much time telling people to stop judging and to be nicer to each other. Felt like a kindergarten teacher. People here are rather lovely.
-
silly me, I meant doing the right thing for you and not her!
-
Oh honey - she noticed! Hence the lecture. You know you're doing the right thing for her, so as forever says, 'keep on keepin' on'.

Here's a weird and positive change - I gave my chocolate away. Here's the background: went out at lunchtime and bought a bar of rather expensive dark coffee chocolate. Tasted it and thought 'rather disappointing and cloying' Now, old me would have hoofed it all back to get rid of it, but new me plonked it on office desk…

well done on overall loss - that's just brilliant x
-
that sounds delicious - I think the general rule is eat when and what you like so long as you're under 500 but most people save them for the evening. I have allbran in the morning, a packet soup and then veg soup in the evening and I'm fine with that. Dull, but fine. Have a great Friday everyone. I am finally getting a bit…

not so much fingers crossed, as jaws wired. Hope it went well coby.

Hi there Shelle - it's actually much easier than it sounds. Glad to have you along! x
-
very cool - i watched a youtube workout - from comfort of chair... does look like loads of fun.

ok. going to google 'rebounder' now... I think my scales are having a sulky hissy fit. They refuse to go below 160. I'll step on, and they'll tease me with a flash of 159.9 and then whoosh back up to 161 again. They've been doing this for a while and I think someone needs to have a word with them.
-
Flumi - you can do it - you sound like you are in such a positive, happy place.Have a great Saturday everyone x
-
Hi Cath! very nice to have you join us! You sound like you've had a cracking start to 5:2!
-
bburg - you say you 'don't have tons of money to buy new clothes' so can I suggest a way around it? when i was at my heaviest, my wardrobe consisted of voluminous skirts and t shirts in weird colours, grabbed off a sale rail without trying on as I felt so hopeless about the way I looked. - i lost the first ten and bought…

hi miss coconut and welcome aboard.5:2 is not a relentless grind as it's broken up by days where we eat the things we love. So give it your best shot for at least a month. I did the fluid thing you mention for the first couple of fasts and then realized that it was a bit silly, and stuck to <500 on fds and <1500 on normal…
-
you're going to be a yummy mummy bburg! Like you, I'm fasting today and really hoping to break into the 50s soon. 155-160 will be my comfort zone. started at 205 and discovered lovely 5:2 at 176.
-
mwhite that's so good! well done indeed; your two rules are clearly working.
-
Karen - that's brilliant and Janette hang in there - it'll happen!
-
just make sure the carrots are washed... :o me: diet coke, chicken noodle packet soup, tea and my beloved ecig ( no real cigs for two years now, so don't even TRY to get me away from these...)
-
also, whilst on subject of things not moving, I finally worked out how to see how much fibre I am getting on a daily basis with food logging on mfp. Took a while to fiddle with setting, but I got there! Three bowls of allbran and lots of water and tea should do the trick I am thinking... Then I went and researched my…
