  • I still eat out (probably once a week) and I try to go for the healthy option. I also make sure I do extra exercise and eat as 'cleanly' as possible before and after. A few tips when eating Indian: Top 5 tips • Enjoy the poppadum and chutney appetisers but avoid deep-fried snacks • Ask for foods which are grilled or baked…
  • 5ft 1in, 114lbs (2lbs from goal weight but these last few lbs have been harder than the 20lbs already dropped) Feel free to add me !
  • Was the shooting in Croydon anything to do with the riots though? I cannot find any info on BBC or Sky?
  • Change your goal from 2lbs per week, that is jsut not realistic if youhave less than 20lbs to lose.
  • I will only ever eat 1200 cals on the rare days I take zero exercise at all. I am normally between 1300 - 1500 per day (I eat back exercise calories!)
  • I understand where you are coming from - it just seems ironic that a few posts back you condem the Police for their actions over Mark Duggan and the whole gun situation yet actively condone violence should it kick off locally to you. We don't know the full SP about Mark Duggan but he is said to have been carrying a firearm…
  • I don't use mine at all - may have to start ??
  • A few hundred extra calories on one day isn't going to undo consistent hard work.. It's done now OP, today is a new day!
  • Lucy, you do a difficult enough job as it without these A-holes making life tougher. I cannot express enough respect for you and your collegues. From one Londoner (luckily in a borough as yet unaffected by the riots) to another I can only say how disgusted and angry I am about it all. I come from a working class…
  • Amen! I know how lucky I am and try to make time every day to remind myself how good I actually do have it...
  • After getting to goal weight [and being there for a while] my OH and I plan to try for a baby !!! Scary LOL! More immediate plans are a holiday - hopefully in the next month !!
  • If you are on 1210 calories a day and doing *say* 300 calories worth of exercise as long as you are eating aprox 1500 calories you are doing this the right way! 1210 and NOT eating back 300 exercise calories would mean you were only taking 910 cals per day which is too few!
  • Summer I find it easier to eat healthy (when it's hot all you want is a lovely fresh salad in the evening) but I do get really tempted to go out and sit in a beer garden... So I eat less when it's hot but socialise more - lots of BBQ's, evenings in pub gardens, friends round for prosecco on the balcony. Winter I find that…
  • Another office worker here, activity level sendantry, all exercise loggd (and calories eaten back!)
  • Some general tips on eating out: Appetizers: • Juices • Clear broth-type, boullion, consomme, vegetable, lentil, bean or pea soups • Gazpacho • Vegetable gumbo • Tossed garden or spinach salad • Fruit • Steamed seafood • Peel and eat shrimp • Fresh or steamed vegetables Salad Bars: • Make a meal of it but limit the…
  • This is the behaviour I have finally overcome since joining up here. Prior to MFP every other day was as you describe above.
  • 1 stone = 14lbs

  • 100% as a planner - always have used it in this way. I am not totally strict with myself [IE I can can change what I have pre-planned to eat LOL] but I find having a rough idea makes it so much easier. There is no point logging something AFTER you've eating it and then seeing it is very high in calories and wishing you had…
  • Well I am going to go against the grain here as I do not exercise much at all (in fact reading this thread makes me feel very guilty!) I walk an hour a day most days and try to fit in 30 minuts cardio 3-4 times a week [realistically I am doing my cardio twice a week at the moment] My weightloss has been 90% diet!
  • I eat back mine too - always have done - and lost 18lbs pretty qucikly.
  • Depends on your height and build. 112lb is fine for me at 5ft 1in and small frame but would be far too low for someone 5ft 6in with an athletic build.
  • If you don't normally drink why do you have to tonight? Can you not stick to soft drinks?
  • London here - am always happy to make new friends !!
  • I have my activity level set an sedantry but I log my daily walking (aprox 45 mins) I have always done the same walk but now I make sure I stick on my trainers and iPod and try to beat my own time each day - basically I treat it as exercise so I log it. I try to have a 30 minute power walk at lunch time and I log that too.
  • Will this be what you eat thorughout the whole day at work? Is so then 600 cals is fine for breakfast and lunch. I am on 1200 cals and everything I ate during work time yesterday came to 709 calories!!!

  • I'd go back to the Dr's hun, as you have a pre-existing medical condition maybe your GP can give you some advice? It doesn't seem right (tome at least and I know I am not an expert) to feel ravenous after eating? If you are going to do this you may as well make sure you are doing it 'properly' and seek some advice from the…
  • Just a thought - but have you spoken to your Dr about your diet? Could it be that you have trouble absorbing food as well as water?
  • What is your daily calorie allowance? Do you eat all your calories? Do you eat back exercise calories? You shouldn't have to stave off hunger - sounds like you may be undereating OP :-(
  • I cannot stress how much the ability to plan ahead has helped me on this journey!!! I plan as far in advance as possible and as well as helping me stay on track it also helps with planning the shopping!! What is the use of logging something and seeing how many calories it is AFTER you have eaten it? By planning you can…
