If it fit in with your diet plan sure... It all boils down to calories - only thing to bear in mind is unless your protein intake is high on a low cal diet, you WILL lose muscle tone; and that's just as important to bare irrespective of gender.

You need to first accurately understand your BMR - never estimate your daily energy needs. Always set your activity level to sedentary to have an accurate maintenance and then add your activity onto that.
