  • I began Keto in October. I guess it was sometime into the second week that I noticed I wasn't looking at the clock waiting for lunch time to hurry up and get here. Now, I'm fairly confident I could go without, however, I eat because I know I need to. Things will change. Be determined and give it a little more time. I bet…
  • That was supposed to be UN-imaginable.
  • I am very sorry to hear about your loss. The pain must be imaginable. I would be honored to be a part of your support system. Sending a friends request your way.
  • I just turned 51 in October and am 16 lbs into a 115 lb loss goal since 10/12/13. I peeked at your profile, your food diary is not open. . I am interested in making new friends in general and am very interested in others doing keto w/ open diaries so we can exchange food ideas and expand our possibilities. My profile and…
  • 51 year old Dialysis Nurse doing Keto. I have a pencil (pen) pushing managerial desk job and I have 115 lbs to lose and have chopped away 15 of it in the past few weeks. I am interested in making new friends, in the nursing community and in general. I am very interested in others doing keto w/ open diaries so we can…
  • I think you're right. For some reason I didn't pick up on the fact that there was a lot of protein it them. AND, they're highly addictive. Because of those I was over on protein that night but was still under on fat. The next morning my bs was 91 I think. Not too terribly high. It was the second time my bs got in the 90's…
  • Don't shoot, don't shoot! I'm simply finishing off the light Hellman's that I have been using. A brand new jar of the real stuff is waiting in the pantry to be opened. Same with the cream cheese. I'm trying to mix it up a little. I have one more package of the reduced fat cream cheese to go. I have 2 full fat sitting…
  • I read the majority of this article and scanned the rest. I was not able to find any information regarding the effects on blood sugar levels r/t eating pork rinds. Can you cut & paste the piece of information you are referring to into one of these reply boxes? Thanks for the pointers.
  • You have made a remarkable transformation! You give us all strength and encouragement to continue on with our quest.
  • Welcome Walter & Eva. I'm an Okie. That's Oklahoma for the un-initiated in "redneck speak". Glad your here I myself started lurking a couple months ago and then got serious and dove into the deep end on 10/12/13. Together we are an army!
  • I see your posts in several places and you seem VERY knowledgeable regarding maintaining Ketosis. Can you explain a little bit about why a high protein / low fat meal could throw you out of ketosis? And, how little fat is too little per meal? I would like to friends request you so that I might learn some more.
  • I was newly diagnosed as being 51 on October 13... :glasses: I am going the Ketogenic route. I am also looking for a few friends that I can relate to on this journey. Please feel free to add me.
  • Just started eating Ketogenic 2 weeks ago. I have been keeping my net carbs under 20. You can see my food diary, it is open. I'm also looking for new friends traveling this same road as I am for strength and support. Feel free to add me. I reset my % on MFP according to the Ketogenic Ratios = Carb%, Protein%, Fat% =…
  • I am also looking for a few friends on this journey. I am newly diagnosed as being 51... I am going the Ketogenic route. My blood sugars normalized almost immediately and I just finished the first two weeks of induction. So, I am at the beginning of this change myself. I am a Registered Nurse working in dialysis.…

  • Thanks all. After doing a bit more research I discovered I was using the default % for weight loss from MFP. I have changed my % to Carb, Protein, Fat = 5, 25, 75. After this change I discovered I was on target. Yea!
  • I would like to know the answer to that too. I just finished 2 weeks induction. My Net Carbs are below 20 but my fat and protein grams are usually way over. My fiber is real low too.
  • If that's your current picture, you don't look like your becoming fat and lazy... Your picture is what I want to get back to.
  • I also am new to keto, need to lose about 120 total. It's good your starting young. I was diagnosed with DM-II about 4 years ago and am just now starting to do something about it. I have, as of today, completed the first 2 weeks of induction and have been maintaining my carbs below 20g/day. I plan on continuing this…
  • Nice article on Keto Adaptation. I did a C&P after reading to my Keto file. Question: I have just finished 2 weeks of induction, 11 lbs down. I recently started using MFP food diary for tracking and have huge protein and fat intake numbers. what are acceptable levels of on this diet and when do I need to start paying…
  • Thanks for the recipe. After 2 weeks of induction, I'm starting to branch out a little and increase my options without raising my 20/day carb limit.
  • I'm new to this too. I'm 2 weeks into the induction phase. May stay there for a while as I have a ways to go.
