  • She did note that her new goal would be 1470. I think she meant that MFP had given her 1200 (probably for losing 2 lbs a week).
  • Don't worry about anyone else noticing or being disappointed or happy or whatever. ONLY focus on you. You've done a great job losing weight so far, so just keep going! You already know you can do this. If you feel deprived, just eat. Eat the things you love and fit them into your daily goals. No guilt allowed.
  • Aria is turning into such an awesome character. *kitten* is about to get real with her...lol. I can't wait to see her go nuts on those who have wronged her.
  • I should add that I am using the article to teach them how to do analysis and evaluation. There are some logical flaws in the article that we have to unpack. Not teaching them that Game of Thrones is racist. haha
  • It's about race in the show and in the novels. The author thinks that the show magnifies some of the racial stereotypes in the novels and he ties that back to Tolkien and the racial stuff that was going on in LotR. What do you think?
  • Yeah, definitely want to teach college. I love teaching. :) IN FACT, tomorrow I am teaching an article about Game of Thrones. Funny timing, huh?
  • A PhD in English. Just about to take my exams and I'm terrified. :)
  • Okay, guys. I have to admit that I kind of hate Dany. I said it. She's annoying and the actress who plays her drives me nuts. My favorite character is Tyrion. He's such a badass. Would bang. BUT, I also love Jaime. I'm digging the way he's developing. (p.s. I'm talking about the show, obviously, and can't speak to the…
  • Yeah, it's kind of a bummer. It's also a bummer to look at their food diaries. They're so happy now ("so and so lost 3.4 lbs since her last weigh in"), but they're going to be frustrated when their weight loss completely comes to a halt and they plateau for months. I just try to remember that it's way, way better for *me*…
  • Terrible. Were these teenagers? In my experience, people of all ages can be cruel, but teens are the most vocal about it. I've gotten dirty looks from older women, but the only ones who have ever said anything out loud (often to their friends) were teens. I just chalk it up to serious self-esteem issues on their part, and…
  • You win the thread. I laughed. "Make em easier to catch."
  • I would never go on a juice fast or replace meals with juicing, but I will occasionally buy extra produce and make juices because they're tasty and have lots of vitamins. With juice I can make delicious combinations of foods that I 1) just plain old don't like, or 2) might not like to eat *whole*. Example: I don't care for…
  • I like you. :flowerforyou:
  • I watched this at least ten times and laughed hysterically. .. all while in the library. I guess that says something about what kind of person I am. Haha.
  • To the OP: I know how you feel. I have been cutting back on caffeine over the past year and I feel demonstrably better. Fewer sleepless nights, for one. Some people can handle it, but I can feel a difference when I limit my intake. If cutting diet soda works for you, then keep it up. P.S. I still love diet soda. I just try…
  • That was insane! I always knew about faking these pictures but seeing what he could do in one hour was pretty mind blowing. I hada friend who used to specialize in faking photos for salons. They would photograph women with gorgeous hair, mess it up with dyes and whatnot and then take the "before" shot. They would then fix…
  • I am obsessed with pressure cooking. We now have 3 of them, all in different sizes! Haha. I often make regular recipes, but I throw them in the pressure cooker and it cuts down on the cooking time dramatically. Soups and stews are the easiest to do because they aren't super dependent on precise timing, but I make all kinds…
  • Since it's a consistent activity, I think that changing the activity settings on MFP would make more sense than logging it as exercise.
  • Just adjust your activity level. I assume you currently have it on sedentary? Just bump it up to lightly active or active, depending on how much you move.
  • Honestly, it just sounds like you're not ready to make a lifestyle change. You say that you can't just start eating right...but that is what you HAVE to do. So whether you do a cleanse first really makes no difference in the large scheme of things. If you aren't ready, you're not ready. It's okay. But don't kid yourself…
  • I love that this song is getting played out on the radio. Awesome message.
  • I was thinking this, too. I am fairly confrontational and I don't like people telling me what to do, especially when they're being jerks about it. I might not be her bridesmaid if this behavior continues.
  • You can definitely alter the dress when the wedding is closer. Don't let ANYONE deter you from losing weight and getting healthier. No one's wedding is more important than your health.
  • I eat whenever I want to. Yesterday was my birthday and I knew we were going to an AYCE sushi joint, so I saved up almost my whole day's calories for the massive gorging that night. It was glorious. Other days, I eat small meals all day long. Other days, I eat a sh*it load of food in the morning and then I have a small-ish…
  • I've eaten Thai beef salad from lots and lots of restaurants, and I've never encountered one that served it with rice. So, my assumption was that the entries in the database were just for the salad (no rice included).
  • People have already said it, but for me anything high in protein and/or fat works like a charm. Like steak. Seriously, eat a steak and you'll be good for hours. Other things that help keep me feeling full: avocado, nuts, milk (2% usually), quinoa, and eggs. Certain high-carb foods also make me feel full and keep me…
  • Reese's peanut butter eggs (okay, I love all Reese's peanut butter products, but for some reason the eggs are my favorite). So full of yummy peanut butter.....mmmmm. I could eat a whole bag of them, especially just after Easter when they're way cheap. I have done it more times than I can count. Anyway, I don't have any…
