Are you measuring yourself as well as weighing yourself? Measuring yourself is a very good indication of loss in conjunction with weigh-ins. You should also only be weighing & measuring once a week at around the same time in the morning, after going to the bathroom. Because of your mobility issues, I would actually suggest…

Thank you to both of you. AnnPT77, yup...always adjusting as you go. That's how I was taught...:)

Thank you!

That link will certainly help!

The only myopic mindset I'm seeing is yours. You refuse to take the blinkers off and at least TRY something that has been suggested. Science applies to everyone. It may require an adjustment or two now and then...which we've all mentioned BTW...but for the most part it's CICO. There are many health factors that can…

Wow...well past a year since I posted last in this thread. My mental and physical health took a serious nose-dive this winter and it has contributed to me regaining nearly 30lbs. I've JUST restarted logging and measuring and when i saw the measurements I wanted to cry. Thankfully, instead of crying I just got angry...;)…

Not sure anyone mentioned this, but if you're using the scooby calculator, exercise is already calculated. So you can't then add exercises. It's an average so that's why you have to be as reasonable as possible when you select the type of activity level you have. So basically, you either use the scooby info or MFP, not…

ok...thank you so much for all the responses! Especially rick_po...I'll look those up asap!

My cycle is plotting to kill me...it's the weirdest damned thing to the point where I'm wondering if I could possibly be going through premenaupause already. My actual period barely lasts 3 days...as in there is blood and I need protection. And I just BARELY need protection...I barely bleed those 3 days. I start getting…

Hahahahaaaaa!!! Now THAT'S what I call effort...:)

Thanks Dope and Sara...:)

I have a lot of reading to do...:) I'm a complete noob to lifting. Should I be paying more attention to particular vids over others?

I have a LOTTTTTT of reading/watching to do...:)

Where's the damned love button....

Where is the like button damnit! The greatest advice on this thread you can be given is to stop watching Dr. Oz. All watching him does is fill your brain with rot. Biggest Loser et al should also be ditched because of the unrealistic portrayal they give of weight loss. As much as I love Jillian Micheals' exercise plans, I…

Every time someone posts broscience, Jesus kills a kitten....STOP THE SLAUGHTERRR! *cries dramatically*

Is that a general offer??? :)

Measured how? If you used a measuring cup for your cereal, then you are not doing it correctly. You need a scale for solid foods and those measuring cups/spoons for liquids only. You'd be very surprised by how much that measuring cup will vary on a daily basis based on how it settles in the cup. As a result, it's very easy…

You would get more bang for your buck just buying a high quality protein powder for convenience. The vitamins in the good quality ones are a higher caliber than Shakeology, it's cheaper per serving and it tastes a heck of a lot better.

Are you guesstimating those calories or are you actually weighing/measuring everything that goes into your mouth accurately. Eyeballing portions doesn't work. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/872212-you-re-probably-eating-more-than-you-think Also, your body needs fat. Many vitamins and minerals are fat soluble only.…

Actually, 2lbs a week is quite a lot for someone with only 30 or so lbs to lose. It's certainly doable, but it's not necessary. A slower rate of loss may actually be more sustainable for you. Especially with the amount of exercise you say you want to do. I've only got 25-30lbs left to lose myself and I'm aiming for 1lb a…

I'm 5'2.75" and 37 years old. I've lost approximately 45lbs and approximately 37" around my body. I measure my arms, bust, under-bust, waist, hips, thighs and calves. I've recently noticed that my neck, wrists, fingers, ankles and feet are MUCH smaller. In fact, I've lost a whole shoe size. You should see what I have to do…

I don't know whether to be sad or happy that those jeans and that top are too big for me...lol! I can still wear the top, but the jeans slide down all day, even with a belt!

If you have a tight budget, I doubt WW is for you. There are a lot of people who are successful on it, it's once they stop that is the issue. All WW is is a low calorie diet (the points keep you to about 1200 cals per day). You still have to meal plan on your own. I would personally recommend just sticking to a calorie…

HAH! At least the items that bare our name are cute! :D ILHA, thanks luv. I still feel a high from that day...:)

It's been a while since I've posted anything. This winter was very, very difficult for me but I still managed to mostly maintain the loss I have achieved. I only gained back 6 lbs which is awesome seeing as I was pretty much out for nearly 4 months with various illnesses, AKA no gym time at all. I went back to the gym in…

Tagging for later! thanks SS!

Keep in mind that due to the surgery, a regular TDEE calculation may not be what you need/right for you. I would seek a dietician (not a nutritionist) who specializes with people who have had bipass/weight loss surgury. This person may be able to help you get the nutrition you need better than even your doctor. Your doctor…

Your friend doesn't make sense. It doesn't matter when you do it as long as you stick to the same day/time/place. I weigh-in and measure every Saturday morning when I wake up around 9am right after I pee and in the exact same spot in my bathroom. I'm conveniently still naked so it's quick and easy. I log everything in an…

OMGZ! You will become fat and squooshy!!! :)
