Petite girls! I'm 5'0 aiming to lose 25-30 lbs in 4 mon

Hi all!

Kind of new to MFP. I've been on and off. I'm 22 years old, 5'0 tall, and currently weigh about 143 lbs. My goal weight is 115-118 lbs - my weight before I started college. Trying to lose all the weight I gained during college, and then some.

I plan on doing cross training + bouldering about 3 days a week, running + pilates 3 days a week, and a chill walk/hike on Sundays. MFP gave me a goal of 1380 calories daily, but I plan on playing that by ear. I just plugged in Active as the lifestyle, and a goal of 1.5 lb a week on MFP, and I don't plan on eating my exercise calories since I figure the "active" lifestyle already factors that in.

Thoughts on the feasibility of this in 4 months? I just left my current job, and I'm spending some time traveling and really working out before I go to grad/professional school in late August. Aiming to lose 1.5-2 lbs a week, though it'll probably look like a 2 lb weight loss for awhile and then start to taper off to 1lb a week the closer I get to my goal weight.

Actually, 2lbs a week is quite a lot for someone with only 30 or so lbs to lose. It's certainly doable, but it's not necessary. A slower rate of loss may actually be more sustainable for you. Especially with the amount of exercise you say you want to do. I've only got 25-30lbs left to lose myself and I'm aiming for 1lb a week now rather than the 2 I initially was going for.

No, it should be 1 pound a week that eventually tapers off to .5 pounds a week. 2 pounds might be too aggressive.

its short term, it can be done.
  • I actually spent some time researching today and I will be shooting for 1.5 lb weight loss that should taper off from there. 2lb a week is aggressive.

I've heard a lot of different things about eating exercise calories and please correct me if I'm wrong on this plan I have.
I calculated my TDEE with an exercise level of every day (I'm counting daily 45min cardio) using this: http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/
My starting TDEE is 2180, and my BMR is 1332. I'm aiming to eat around 1680 calories.

I am 5ft1 myself and by about 140lbs in the past I have foun d I can lose 1lb a week maximum if I am doing it healthily. It is the downside to being short  However, even 10lbs especially with with a fit, well exercised body will look like you have lost loads more than an average sized person
