What is your activity level set at? If it's set at sedentary, then MFP is going to give you minimum amount of calories. If you are hitting 15,000 steps a day, you should be set at active....could that be the reason the calorie goal is low?

6 lbs...man, I need more discipline in my diet!

Logging is part of my life. I even log my food intake during my vacations, but because I'm usually eating out, I'm not as precise as I am at home. I haven't gained any weight by estimating my food intake for that short of time. Even though the input is imprecise, having that data helps me not lose motivation when I don't…

I started at 229 and now weigh 203 (26 lbs down). I feel different...less thigh rub, I don't have to move my stomach off my thighs anymore, and I'm wearing smaller clothes. But no one has noticed which confused me until I saw a recent picture. Now, despite the changes I feel, I don't think I look much different...yet.

I second the warning on the tortilla chips! I weighed out 150 grams (around 5 oz) of chips the other night and that equaled 750 calories. Luckily, that was entire dinner so I didn't get totally derailed that day...

I agree with the other's that reviewed your diary. Measuring/logging solids in cups/TBSPs and by pre-packaged info (for example the bread slices) could be sabotaging your efforts. You list one egg but you did not list a weight so I'm assuming you did not weigh it. Egg weight fluctuates quite a bit and you may be…

I am definitely a delivery addict. I used to spend my Sunday's cooking healthy meals and then ordering out that night because I didn't want to eat anything I cooked. And then I would order delivery every day for the rest of the week because I still didn't want anything I cooked. In the end, I'd throw away all the meals I…

Thursday Confession: Today I ordered Indian food. I have not ordered Indian food in months but today I caved. Now 4 hours later, I ate all the food. I was enough for two, maybe three, days. But I ate all of it. Ugh.

I needed jeans for this weekend and the Lane Bryant was too far away so I braved the local mall with dread. I not only fit into Gap skinny jeans, I bought a cute pair of skinny slacks to go with a long shelved blouse for my trip to Broadway!

2 organic eggs scrambled in the grease of one slice of uncured bacon sandwiched into two small potato rolls with swiss cheese and 3 mugs of steaming hot green tea. 590 calories of satisfaction.

5 lbs before I'm in Onederland!!!!

With the weather getting cooler, I ventured into my closet to see if my old size 16 pants fit. I haven't worn them since 2015. Without the aid of shapewear, I was able to button and zip them but they were still too tight in the legs and gave me a pretty major muffin top. I was happy but also bummed they were not suitable…

I love beer. All my friends love beer. All my social activities involve beer. Beer is everywhere. At least it used to be. I no longer keep it in my house so I don't mindlessly grab one. When I have a planned event, I've gotten much better about exercising beforehand so I earn the beers. And I log them all. That last part…

I went 1315 kcals over yesterday. Unfortunately mine wasn't a mistake...it was beer...and lots of it.

I had a really good week: - I had a new set of blood work done and the doctor called to congratulate me as my cholesterol and sugar levels are now in the normal range. - My neighbor stopped me on the sidewalk to let me know she has noticed I am losing weight...first person to do so! - Sometimes I take a school bus from the…
Just reading the serving size and using measuring spoons and cups . I do plan to purchase a food scale, something digital when I get paid next month.
I agree a week is too soon to really know what's going on...but using spoons and cups to measure solids is very inaccurate, especially with highly caloric…

You do not need to get in shape beforehand...CF will take care of that fairly quickly. Any reputable box is going to require you to take foundation courses in order to teach you the basics. You should take full advantage of these because proper form is an absolute must. I started CF in 2011 and went 5 days a week through…

I love running but I too suck at it. Nothing in my stride is graceful or fluid. Even when I weighed 130lbs, I sounded like an elephant with every step. But man do I love the feeling of accomplishment when I finish. To help steady my breathing, I was taught to concentrate on pushing air out of my lungs. Our bodies will…

I'm at my most active in the mornings and I usually work out at noon. After that, I am very sedentary. With my schedule, MFP tends to award me a pretty large calorie adjustment in the middle of the day but ends up subtracting 250-300 calories from that adjustment in the evening. I find the projected calorie calculations on…

When I cook, I weigh/measure each ingredient and put those totals in the recipe builder. When I finish cooking, I weigh the entire finished product and set the servings to that weight. For example, I made black bean soup the other day and the finished soup weighed 2800 grams so I set the recipe servings to 2800. Then when…

This goes with what we were saying about trying different boxes. Mine offers nutrition classes as a separate option. I didn't sign up for that so I never have to listen about Paleo this or that. You'll never have to run in a weighted vest unless you choose to. My brother just started doing that to make his short runs more…

I love crossfit because of all the ways it made other activities easier. It made me more aware of how to engage my muscles during day to day activities. I have no issues putting my carry on in the overhead bin...and usually end up helping a few other people. I was shoveling snow last winter and on one scoop felt a twinge…
Sometimes I intend to do some yoga after an hour of TV but get sucked into that cuddling vortex.
I've lost many workout hours because of the damnable cuddle vortex!!!

I bit the bullet and finally hired a personal trainer. We had our first workout today and the success story is: I did not die.

When I was 135lbs, I wore a chest strap and HRM to measure my casual walks with the dog. A 15 minute walk with the pup averaged 70 calories. Now that I'm 75lbs heavier, I use 75 calories/15 minutes as a "best guess" scenario for my walks.

I use Fitbit for daily calories left since the MFP takes much longer to adjust...I also found eating 20-25% of the exercise calories on MFP keeps me in a good deficit too.

I had a favorite t-shirt but since I gained my weight, it didn't cover my stomach anymore so it's been hanging out in the back of my drawer. Today was house cleaning day, so I grabbed an old t-shirt to wear for the chore...it turned out to be THAT t-shirt and it fit...fit so well, I wore it while I ran errands around the…

I just hit one mini-goal which was to weigh less than I did a year ago!!
