  • A lot of people don't even follow the diet plan and still have success. I did not follow the plan. Sure, my weight drop is slower, but I have other factors to deal with (PCOS and Hashimoto's), so I knew it would be an uphill battle no matter what I did. I set my weight loss to 1.5 lbs. per week and am almost always under…
  • @SatiaRenee, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you are able to stave off the degeneration as long as possible. I did WO6 today, and there were no moves I couldn't do at all, although some of the more plyometric moves are hard for me because I'm still so heavy. The plank rows are really hard, but I can power through most of…
  • I decided to soldier on through to workout 5 this morning, and I'm glad I did. I like it so much better than 3. The only moves I'm not great on are the push-up to side planks (can only do a couple of those right now) and the tricep push-up (can't extend my arm at all yet). My arms are definitely shaky today. I might stay…
  • @SatiaRenee, I'm struggling this time, too. I feel like last time I really got far in the program, I was already so much stronger at the end of the first phase than I am this time. There are a couple of moves in 3 and 4 that I still can't do. I'm really debating whether I should take an extra week on those or just head on…
  • Can I pop in? This is my third attempt at finishing JMBR. I got halfway through week 7 in 2012, when I weighed 30 lbs. less than I do now. Then I got a really awful sinus infection that settled into my chest, and I quit. I started in January this year, and quit just two weeks in. This time, I am determined to do it. I just…
  • I freaked out over the sugar my first couple of days, too. Then I decided to track fiber instead. I hid the sugar and focused on fiber, and I've been much happier. I know I still have too much processed sugar in the form of my coffee creamer, but I would rather consume that little bit than that little bit + whatever I felt…
  • I was on Wellbutrin for a long time, and I thought it was helping my depression (I think it helped me finally conceive!), but I didn't know what I was really missing out on until I added the anti-anxiety component to my regimen. I've been on Lexapro since December, and I actually have a full range of emotions, without…
  • Absolutely! I'm in TX, and I actually got moved up to AP English III this year, from Pre-AP English II. I felt major stress for that test, and I didn't even have the added stress of the increased rigor of the standardized testing the lower grades had! My group of juniors was the only one left on the old testing standards.
  • Me. I'm 36 yo 5'8" SW: 230 CW: 222 GW: 180 (realistically, although I'd LOVE to get down to 170) I am a teacher, and I selfishly would love to have people notice a fairly significant change when I return to school in August. I'm not vain, but boy did I let stress get to me this past year. I need to show myself that I can…
  • I don't have Zumba Core, but I got Zumba Rush. I did my first medium length class today, and I was dripping with sweat. It was so much fun! I'm going to pair it with Jillian Michaels' Body Revolution. I'll use Jillian for strength training and Zumba for cardio. Looking forward to dropping weight this summer!
  • I haven't been diagnosed, but if I eat bell peppers (particularly green), I will burp them for DAYS. I just avoid them if I can, and pick them out of my food if I can't.
  • It's a great addition to oatmeal, too. Yum.

  • Try flavoring it with teas, lemon/lime juice, or even Crystal Light. That's how I trained myself to drink water: Crystal Light or Mio. Now I drink nearly 150 oz a day now. The water really helps you flush out excess sodium, etc. It's worth it. Good luck!
  • I'm in! I shared my DVDs with my sister. She gave me back 1&2 a long time ago, and I can't find them now. I'll be starting with workouts 3&4 and will double up on them (work them for four weeks instead of two). It'll be tough, but I really like the structure of the BR. I got sick in the middle of it last time. I want to…
  • Another great way to eat them: grilled with a little salt (I love J&R's Bacon Salt - vegetarian, low-sodium heaven) and some lime juice OR a sprinkle of shredded parmesan.
  • I will!I did it a year ago and had great results. I'm ready to start again next week. I'm only going to work out five days a week to the BR, though. I'll reserve the other cardio day for playing with my kids, running, or something else. I'm eager to get started again.
  • Love avocados! I am going to start incorporating 1/2 an avocado per day into my diet again. Question for those of you who do this: how do you keep the other half from going brown until the next day? Anyone have a foolproof method of avocado preservation?
  • I was generally referring to the Weight Watchers brands of foods that are full of fillers so you can have cheese for one point or crackers for 2. I realize they are in it to make money; they just don't need any more of mine. I am glad you find support at the meetings. I am not denigrating any method that helps you; I was…
  • I'm a convert, too. I am through with the points system. Anything that encourages me to seek artificial sweeteners and fillers for fat-free food to stay under a seemingly arbitrary daily goal is not for me. I lost weight on it a few years ago, but now I know more about eating REAL foods and not the fake stuff. I have given…
  • Last year, when I did the JMBR, I lost something like 7 lbs. in the seven weeks I got through before I got sick and lost momentum. However, I lost 22" over my whole body! I actually had a coworker tell me I was getting "cut", even though my weight wasn't dropping. 1200 calories per day is WAY too low for me. I lose better…
  • I'm glad your plantar fascitis is better! I have been slowly warming myself up to the challenge of the BR. Monday, I did Jillian's 30 Day Shred. Yesterday, I am ashamed to say, I slept in. Today, I was about to do round two of the 30 DS, but I saw the ads at the beginning and remembered I had a Biggest Loser DVD I'd never…
  • I am with you! 50 lbs. to lose, a 40-42 DDD. I would LOVE to lose my boobs along with everything else. I had a reduction when I was 21 (almost 16 years ago now!), and I was a perfect D. Two kids and 50 lbs. later, and I'm back to big'uns. Honestly, I think it depends on genetics as much as anything else. I know people who…
  • Part of the reason Jillian seems "masculine" to some of you is that she has PCOS, a syndrome that includes hormonal imbalance (read: higher testosterone levels in women). If you remember, there was a big kerfuffle a few years ago when people took a remark of hers out of context. She said that she wouldn't have children…
