Also, even while my weight is fluctuating, strength is steadily increasing. I believe this is probably normal for a novice lifter, but just thought I'd throw that out there.

Just track it, or have vanilla coke zero. Dat stuff is GAF

Optimum Nutrition, rocky road flavor. The double chocolate is pretty good too, but rocky road is my favorite so far.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll look into Starting Strength and Stronglifts. Probably aim for about 0.5-1 lb gain per week.

oh, and by the way, my current weight is about 143 pounds. Lost about 35+ pounds since starting my journey :)

IIFYM for the win? I eat whatever I want, just not as much as I want.

I completed Insanity a few days ago. Overall, I lost around 12 pounds and got down to 6-7% body fat. Muscle tone increased dramatically in only 63 days, loved the results. I just wish my t-shirt wouldn't take 4-6 weeks to arrive! My goal is to keep doing Insanity just to stay in shape until I get the stuff I need to do…

that sounds amazing to me haha

I kinda disagree with number 2. While unhealthy foods do impact your overall health and how you feel, when it comes down to body composition, a calorie is a calorie. If you have any significant self-control, you will be able to eat "unhealthy" foods every now and then and still stay on track.
-
Just plan ahead. If you know you are going to want fast food later, save some calories, carbs, and fats for that. Eating unhealthy food doesn't have to kill your diet, just make sure it fits your macros. IIFYM for the win!

Just a week left of my first round. I'm thinking one more round before starting Body Beast. :)

I'd say just go right to eating maintenance calories. If you eat slightly more, but still at a deficit, you would still be losing weight.
-
Net calories are how many calories you consume minus whatever you burn from exercise. You can eat those calories back because the calorie deficit for weight loss is already factored into that number. It would be best to eat those calories back to keep your metabolism going and your energy up. Hope that helps :)

you can either store them in the trash or in your thighs. Your choice

nice (and tasty) way to get ur healthy fats. Does work wonders as a moisturizer as well :)

It really depends on how much you have to lose. An obese person will lose weight much faster than someone who has 5-10 pounds to lose. When I started my journey, I'd say I was overweight, but not obese by any means. I've lost about 35 pounds in about 5 months. Good luck to you! :)

40 pounds of muscle is likely more than you could ever build over 5 years. A person with average genetics could probably put on about 30 over 5 years with a strict training regimen and diet. Maybe you should try setting a realistic goal.

Just think about it before you do it. Would u rather enjoy some chips for 5 minutes or look goooood in them jeans! Just remember what's really important to you.

Today was day 43 of Insanity for me. Lost about 8 pounds so far and toning up real nice. Ill post pics when I'm finished :)

I'd be great with losing 5 lbs by then. Gettin close to my goal weight, til i start bulking :)

You may be eating more calories than you think, you have to measure how much you are eating. Just because you eat some crackers doesn't mean you only ate 1 serving. If you are having almonds as a snack, those are actually pretty high calories, because they are mostly healthy fats. Take a look at how much you are eating and…

I have this same problem. I have to buy protein powder to meet my protein requirements for the day and I also have a few of my own healthy snacks on hand. Is there a salad bar at your dining hall? I rely on that quite a bit. If you are forced to eat something that isn't the best for you, eat in moderation. You can also…

Thanks for all the replies everyone! After I finish Insanity, I'll start hittin up the weights :)

I need some friends! haha. I just recently joined MFP and don't have any yet. I would love for you to be my first one :)

I really don't have any of these items. I just recently got into fitness, lost some weight, and all my current clothes are too big!
