I am returning again after a few months of just being too tired and too stressed to think about anything but what's stressing me out and making me tired. I really identified with your difficulty getting with the program again. I am a teacher, have two and a half months off, and I'm determined to get back into the daily…

I have been on and off this thread for a few years - mostly off, but I'm back at it. I'm oddly not getting any younger, and the deaths of 2 people from heart attacks - both younger than me, have kicked me in the stomach. So I'm back.

Hi everyone. My name is Deb and I'm new... sort of. I have been on mfp before, this time since the end of December. I also followed Robin's Thread a couple years ago. I was so excited to see that it's still going stronger than ever! My goal is to lose 100 pounds, 1 lb a week for the next two years. I'm not in a hurry - I…

Every once in awhile, I do the same thing. I let myself have a day when I was exhausted and discouraged. I still logged every bite, though. I got right back to healthy eating the next day and continued. I still lost a pound that week. The key is to enjoy it, so you get some satisfaction out of the day. That makes it easier…

laralosingit42, I have 95 pounds left to lose out of a hundred. I've been overweight since I was 14, which is over 40 years. It took a long time to put on a hundred extra pounds, so I'm not in a rush to lose it. I hope to lose 1 lb per week over the next 2 years. So far, I've managed to lose a little over a pound a week…

I've had a Fitbit Zip for a week and I'm loving it! It's small and I can stick it on my bra each morning. Nothing on my wrist to get in the way and no worries about it coming unclipped from my waistband and crashing to the ground. I had not realized that I walk 4 miles a day at work! It's also helped me see how little I…

I started on MFP a few years ago, I guess. Life can get in the way and derail us, but you are already winning, if you pick yourself up and get moving again! Of 100 lbs I need to lose, I have 96.6 left! LOL I would love to support y'all and would be happy to have some cheerleaders, too!

Fantastic! Your photos remind me that I don't have to be in my 20s or 30s to exercise, change my diet and successfully take off my unhealthy weight. You look great - thanks!

I've been MIA for a couple weeks now. I got sick the second day of school and went home at 10 am. That afternoon I got a call that my Dad was in the ER, two hours away from me. I spent three days with him, drove back to work Friday, drove back to him on Saturday, and continued to be sick with a sinus infection. He is 84…

I am very thankful for this group, which keeps me accountable to myself and y'all! I am also very thankful that 16 of my 22 new first graders showed up for Open House. I teach in a high poverty area, which makes it tough for parents to leave work if they have a job. I had lots of Dads, aunts, and grandmas show up with…

First official day back to work and I came home at 4 and slept until 7. And all I did was sit through a meeting all morning, grab lunch (don't ask!) and sat all afternoon. Tell me again why teachers think kids should be able to do this???? I came in under calories because I was too tired to fix dinner, but I didn't get…

Last week's goals went well as far as diet and water. Still working on the exercise, although I got a few laps in at the pool over the weekend. My sister-in-law cooked all weekend, so I really had to watch what I ate, since she's a great cook! My challenge is to avoid stress eating while we try to get my Dad a little…

It's been a very rough week for my dad. It's hard to admit you just can't have the same life you had when you were younger. It looks like I'll be with him every weekend for the unforeseeable future. My weekends may not be great, as I'll be cooking lots of meat and potatoes, rice, and stuffing - anything to put pounds on…

I am fighting the determination to exercise. As in, I'm determined to find an excuse not to! I'm also looking ahead a couple weeks when school starts and I go back to work. My work day will run from 7 am to at least 4:30. I'm going to need somebody in my back seat on the way home with a cattle prod, poking me until I stop…

Deb / Queendebor I want to become aware of what I eat and how it effects my health. I also need the accountability of checking in with others and knowing I'm not alone! This group is wonderful. My favorite class was always band and lessons. I'm thinking of guitar lessons in my near future. I want to learn what the various…

Food - Did very well today. Exercise - What is that again? Ugh. Water - Not enough today - 56 oz, but still better than last week. Gratitude - I am grateful that my 84 year old dad is still alive, and that I'm only 2 hours away by car. I'm also grateful for his neighbor, Barb, who is keeping an eagle eye on him. Brought…

Finishing up my last glass of water - managed 80 oz. again. I'm back to having ankle bones again! Worked in my classroom for 4 or 5 hours today cleaning out cabinets, etc. So I feel like I got a little exercise, even though I didn't record it. And I came in under calories, so all in all, a great day.

I love the pee chart1 LOL That's one of the ways I knew I wasn't getting enough water to drink. The past two days have been much better, but I'm having to drink 80 oz of water to make it happen. I'm hoping I'll see an improvement on the scale next Monday as well. And I promise not to share color. Ever. :)

If I hadn't had a pity party for myself this afternoon, I would have come in under my calories. On the other hand, I didn't blow the day. I'll be drinking 5 more glasses of water in the next 2 - 3 hours, so that will be fun. Time to refill my water glass and drink up!

I did manage to get in 64 oz of water so far, and I have a couple hours left before bed, so I think I'll make it. I didn't make it to the gym, because the migraine sneaking around in the back of my head decided to make its presence known. So aside from moving furiture in my classroom and toting bins of books around, I…

I was so disappointed when I weighed in this morning. I actually gained 2 lbs. As far as food goes, I did a very good job of logging everything, and should have lost weight. However, I have noticed that I'm retaining water. And although I thought I was doing better with my water, The puffy ankles and dents in my legs when…

Today started out with a migraine, so I wasn't too hopeful. But after hydrating and eating a bowl of oatmeal with some juice this morning, things started looking up. I spent an hour cleaning house, went grocery shopping, and because I had a very small snack instead of lunch, I'll be enjoying pizza and a piece of pie for…

It was a headache day, so I've been kind of off the entire day. However, I did well with my water and my calories all day. Until dinner. My daughter made homemade cake batter ice cream. I only had 3/4 C, but it was enough to put me over. I've also got swollen ankles this evening. So if I happen to not lose weight when I…

Today was a much, much better day for me! I went kayaking with friends this morning for two hours. That was an extremely pleasant way to burn a lot of calories! Meals weren't bad - the only negative was that I went over my cholesterol, but normally I'm way under, so I'm not going to worry about it. I had to play catch-up…

13Strong, I had two cats awhile back. I used white vinegar to take out cat urine. Worked better than the stuff I bought at the pet store!

This is a good topic, since I had kind of a crummy day and I need to remember that my problems are small compared to my blessings. 1. Even though it was a terrible food day and I went way over my calories, I somehow managed to be under on my cholesterol. Yes! 2. My dad is alive and still living independently at 84, even…

I've been visiting my elderly dad, who has no internet, so all I could do was my food and exercise diary on my iphone! I did great with my water today - I'm about to pour my tenth glass and I'm still thirsty - think I've had a little too much salt. My ankles are starting to cankle! Hopefully that's just a one day fluke. I…

Well, it was not an awesome Monday, but for whatever reason, I'm feeling really good about life and feeling motivated! I actually gained 0.2 lbs, which I know is inconsequential, but I wish it would have been inconsequential in the other direction! LOL I also went over my calories today, because I was starving at lunch and…

Spending the weekend with my dad definitely messes with my healthy eating. He's 84 and can't keep enough weight on. So when he wants to go to Perkins, we go. He likes their food and eats well there. I did pick a meal that was under 550 calories, but by the third meal of the day, that was just a little bit too much. Today,…

The day started out with a trip through McD's drive-through. I had nothing at home for breakfast, and this running between my house and my daughter's house to pet sit has gotten old. But, at least I thought about how many calories I was throwing away, and planned the rest of my day accordingly. I was craving pizza for…
