I hope you really enjoy yourself, and everything goes well, breka!

Thank you for starting the thread!

My Garmin 305. I love being able to track where I've been and the height gain and that sort of thing. Love4fitness, go ahead and start the recipie thread.

Thank you for all the pumpkin tips :flowerforyou: Oishi, I didn't realise you are in the UK. I thought I was the only Brit on this thread. To answer some questions - my diary is open to friends - not that I have many. I'm not good at always making good food choices and sometimes feel a bit embarassed about some of the…

Maybe we could have a recipe thread? "Healthy and nutritious food for active people" or something? Anyway, I need your help!! I have a PUMPKIN sitting in my kitchen! What on earth do I do with a pumpkin?? I've never prepared one before... (I know I can google, but I don't even know if I need to peel the thing or not, and…

Good morning all! It is a lovely autumn morning here in Scotland... Well done on your dancing mcppsl :o)

Thank you for sharing your story so honestly with us.

Morning all! Its a lovely sunny autumn morning here in Scotland :-) I've got club run and swim sessions later. To answer questions - I'm definitely a 1 - I don't think I've ever weighed as much as 10 stone (140 lb) and when I came on here I was already into triathlon training and logged my starting weight at 62kg. (That is…

Oh, and my thoughts on the questions asked earlier - I'm also in the fortunate position of never having been overweight, but I'm now a lot more active than I was when I was younger. And at 5' 7" I'm tall-ish. If I'm training hard then I do take one rest day a week - otherwise I'll at least use my folding bike for 20…

Morning all (well it is morning here, anyway. ) Cycled the 16 miles to work this morning. MFP says I can have 2003 calories today. Mustn't forget those 3!! The Pilates class was "interesting" in that we just sat on the floor and the instructor talked... well she wanted us to say a bit about ourselves, too.…

Wow, lots of running! Are you training for something, or do you just like running? (I do not mean to imply that the two are mutually incompatible, just some people like to have targets and/or enjoy racing, while others just like to run.) I have quite a routine when it comes to food on working days, so don't "plan" as such,…

I'd go with the personal preference thing - I'm bad for snacking (sitting at a desk all day doesn't help) but someone who struggles to make time to eat (someone up thread was saying this) probably works better on a more set meal plan!! There's also the notion that you should be fueling your exercise and eating the right…

Well I've just eaten a slice of chocolate and coffee cake that we bought from the patisserie yesterday, and it was very nice, so we will see if the game bird casserole I've got in the slow cooker beats that (probably not). Yesterday? Probably the German schwartzbrot that we got at the market (along with the game bird…

Got it, thank you. Why does MFP only set 15% protein, I wonder? It will be interesting to see what my eating looks like against that setting. One of the things I found when I started logging on here was that I wasn't eating enough protein. However my b/f likes his steaks, pork chops, that sort of thing, so I don't have any…

Where do you set your macros? I'm sure I've seen it somewhere but now I can't find it again. I do have myself set as sedentary because a working day would be literally "get bus, get train, get bus, set at desk, get bus, train, bus, sit in front of computer/TV. So then when I take my folding bike and cycle those sections…

Hope this doesn't scare you too much... I would say a "good" time full stop would be sub 20 minutes... a good beginners time? I don't know... sub 30? I've only run one stand alone 5km and that was 23 minutes and that was slow relative to most of the field.. but that was a race full of people who ran regularly... if you're…

Bump to mark the new thread. I don't want to know how many calories I had yesterday - we went out for a drink which turned into more than one drink.... hmmm.

ab move: plank (is this allowed as it is not exactly a "move"? ) arm move - bicep curls leg move - one legged squats. workout video - don't do them.

Phew, finally managed to read through the rest of the thread, so feel like I can join in without asking something that was answered back on page 5!! To answer some questions - usual quick weekday breakfast is cereal (a heathly kind, not one that has loads of sugar on it). Favourite weekend breakfast is poached eggs on…

Hello... just posting here because its the first time I've spotted a group that fits more with where I'm at, and would like to come back and read the whole thread... MFP thinks I should eat 2700 calories today (that's because I'm doing a couple of hours of cycling) I must average around 2000 depending on what I do. I did a…

Ooooh is it chilly! I just did my long cycle into work. Last time I did it I was in shorts and a tee shirt - and that was only a couple of weeks ago... Today I was in my longs and a thermal top and my cycling coat and wooly socks and so on. Needed my lights for the first half hour too... Now having a latte and a muffin…

Oh, I nearly posted something similar!! I got a nice new pair of black trousers, and now they are getting too big! And all my other trousers have tucks in the waistband held with a safety pin. When the January sales come round I'm going to have to go shopping...

Oooh I got some friend requests :flowerforyou: thank you  I'm afraid I'm not very good at logging everything - I'm mostly using this as a maintanance tool at the moment so it is a metter of staying roughly on track...

Hello all! Can I join in too? I was an occasional poster on the thread earlier in the year. It was a lovely weekend here in Edinburgh, I got out on my bike on Saturday and went for a run with my o/h on Sunday. It is rather more autumnal today... Fiona

Got under the hour for my cycle to work this morning for this first time ever!!!

Nice one! Well done!!

<confused Brit> You guys have your weight on your driving licence??? </confused Brit> Well, obviously some of you do! You learn something new every day... We don't in the UK.

Hi Cloggsy! I take it from your ticker that you're a Geordie originally? (I grew up in that part of the world.) The haar (sea mist) is in good and proper here today - and I was under 58 kg this morning!
-
Enjoy your travels, everybody!

Just back from a long weekend away with my boyfriend and his family - lots of nice food and now I weigh 1kg more than I did the last time I weighed myself! Oh well. Should be able to track and eat sensibly for a while now.
