I have Aaptiv and it's okay. It used to be better, with great music, but there was some sort of switch and now the music is really hit or miss. I do find it helpful for outdoor running when I want to have an actual workout (i.e., speedwork) or on the treadmill to keep my interest. I don't use it for long runs. I haven't…

There's a reason raw milk is not legal in most places - it can really make you sick!!!! I don't understand the obsession with protein powders, but I'm also not a body builder. I do make smoothies, but they are made with mostly whole ingredients - frozen fruit, vegetables, hemp hearts, chia seeds, etc. The exception is that…

Two slices of sesame ezekiel bread (made with sprouted grains; has no sugar, less sodium, more protein and more fibre than normal bread) with unsweetened almond butter.

Ezekiel bread with avocado or almond butter. Skyr or greek yogourt with a serving of a low sugar/high protein/high fibre cereal Can of tuna with a quick drizzle of olive oil and vinegar Cottage cheese with addition of choice (I like mine on a salad, but a lot of people like it with fruit) These are all pretty high protein…

egable gave some great advice! I echo others who said to save a few calories throughout the day to let you have about 100-150 cals left for a healthy snack. One of my favourite snacks in that range is a can of tuna with some fresh cracked pepper and about 1 T red wine vinegar. Tons of protein, not to many calories and is…

If it works for you and keeps you happy and not hangry, then you're good. Some people feel happy with 6 mini meals; some prefer 3 larger meals, some prefer 2 meals. I say ignore the hype and do what works to allow you to feel good and enjoy your life.

Do you like swimming? Or even if you don't, is there aquafit in your area? That's one way to get a great workout, while still being much easier on the joints (plus the resistance benefits of water). I'd also echo suggestions of fitnessblender, and see what you can find that is low impact to help improve…

Mine is around 1250 most days. You can add me if you are interested in seeing it. I eat mostly home-cooked food (as opposed to pre-made/pre-packaged....obviously with exceptions. :)

You look awesome! We are pretty much weight/progress twins! I'm currently on Lean phase of Chalean Extreme, but T25 is next on my list. This is fantastic inspiration - great work!!!

I think those would be fine. You really only need the heavy weights for a few exercises (squats, and possibly rows/deadlifts) and 25 will probably do it relatively well if you focus on the muscle and work on having perfect form.

A few tips for risotto: 1) Never stop stirring. Just accept that you will be hovering over the stove for 25 minutes and be grateful for the tricep exercise it provides. 2) When you add the liquid, keep your broth just below a simmer on an adjacent burner, so you don't stop the cooking process. 3) Taste starting at 20…

I'm 5'4. Aiming for sub 130 to start, and then seeing how I feel. Lowest adult weight I've been at this height was 123. Two kids later, that would be awesome....but one step at a time... :)

I spend about $800/month for 2 adults, 1 preschooler and 1 baby. I'm in Canada, so costs are a bit higher here, and I also have expensive taste. I don't really look to spend less than this though - I try to get good deals, and shop sales, but I view eating healthy, fresh food as an investment in myself and my family. I…

On a hot day: - grande iced americano, black - 0 calories - grande unsweetened passion tea lemonade - about 40 calories, I think? Cold day: - americano, black - 0 calories - skinny latte (most are around 130 calories) If I get a latte with non-sugar-free syrup, I get it half-sweet, non-fat, no-whip (pumpkin spice latte is…

I'm doing it. I'm currently on my second-last week of Lean Circuit, and on Week 5 of C25k. I just space out the runs and workouts. I either run at 7 am or at 8:30 pm, and I do my workouts during the day (yay for maternity leave). It's taking me a bit longer, as I do listen to my body if I'm overdoing it, but you can…

This sounds amazing and totally indulgent.

You could try an angel food cupcake - they end up being pretty light on calories because there is very little fat in them (mostly egg whites, with a bit of flour and sugar). I like to scrape a vanilla bean in with mine to intensify the vanilla flavour. You could use a mix if you were pressed for time, but they aren't…

I don't have actual running shorts, but I bought some longer length (9" inseam) compression shorts from Old Navy and I'm happy with them. The compression in the top keeps the muffin top/post-baby pooch in check, and the longer length means they don't ride up and don't chafe. These are the ones I bought:…

Agree with the others - you need pretty heavy weights, especially for Push phase. I have 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 30. I don't use the 30s much (only when it's JUST legs), but I get a lot of use out of the 15 and 20. There are a few exercises where I would use a 25 if I had one. You can probably do the first week with 8/10…

That is a LOT of diet soda! I also enjoy diet pop, but I won't let myself have more than a can a day (try to avoid it though). Could you start by buying smaller bottles? Having some club soda instead (for the bubbles). I think it would be miserable to cut it out completely, especially when you likely are quite addicted,…

I wouldn't worry about the naturally-occurring sugars in fruit. Along with those sugars, you're also getting vitamins, fibre and a whole lotta yumminess for not too many calories. I think it's important to distinguish between naturally-occurring sugar and added sugar (which is bad). You'll find added sugar in TONS of…

Good for you!!! You look awesome and you've really developed a lot of muscle tone with your weights too! Nice!

I signed up at 2 months post partum, so I'm putting that as my highest weight. I lost 18 lbs within a week, so it feels like cheating to say that's weight loss I "earned" through healthy lifestyle choices.

My 3 year old likes doing weights DVDs with me (not for the whole thing, but for part). I have tiny little dumbells (1-2 lbs) and she likes to copy. She also likes trying to do aerobics with me. As a rule though, I workout after she goes to bed....it's just easier that way!

I've made these and they are amazing!!!!! I use 1/2 c evaporate cane juice in lieu of splenda/stevia. I find I can make 16 muffins from the batch, so that lowers the calories a bit. So yummy and chocolatey.

I've only done a few of the workouts from TurboFire, but I log the Fire workouts as Kickboxing and the HIIT workouts as calisthenics, vigorous. staceymc39 - it's by the same person as TurboJam, but it's a lot more intense. And super fun!

I just had my second baby (3 months old) and am in the same boat. I'm nursing as well, so I'm not as strict on the calories. I'm mostly working off the weight through exercise. In terms of calories though, I find that the more whole, natural, real foods I eat, the larger QUANTITY of good food I can eat for fewer calories…

Replying so I can bookmark, This looks fantastic. Thanks!

Just make sure that whatever you do, it's something that really challenges your body. If you can do it with bands, then the bands will work, but you need to be honest with yourself and see if you truly are reaching failure in the requisite number of reps. I'm doing lean phase right now, and I am mostly using my 12-15-20…

Just wanted to add that I never skip the weights workouts - I don't want to miss working out/building thsoe body parts, but will sometimes skip a cardio as I think most cardio is pretty interchangeable!
