Congratulations on your amazing loss! I agree with you that some of the things I used to love no longer taste great. Maybe it's just mind over matter telling me that the calories are not worth the taste. Whatever it is, I'll take it. I did drink my first beer in almost three months this weekend and sorry to say, it tasted…

Aw, please don't be down. Men lose weight easier than we do. My husband only has to cut out alcohol for a couple of weeks, and the pounds come off like crazy. How long have you been at this? Hopefully you are failthfully logging all of your meals and exercise. Once you get to say the 10 pound mark, you will start to feel…

I'm chugging right along toward my goal. This program is the first time I've seriously committed to losing weight and following through. So far it's been easy for the most part. I fully expect the inevitable plateau, and hope I handle it well. I'm at the stage right now where none of my clothes fit - and not because they…

Wow! You are getting responses from one end of the spectrum to the other! Yes, it is possible to get proper nutrition at 1200 calories, and it is easy to earn more calories by exercising, so you can determine how much or how little you get to eat. I've been eating 1200 calories (with a couple hundred extra most days from…

I'm wondering what made you disengage the first time. Did you not have enough support from family and friends? Were you not seriously comitted to your weight loss and or fitness goals? The reason I ask is that I'm hoping to avoid those things myself! I joined in June, and so far I have found it easy. The ease of logging…

Congratulations on quitting! I smoked for 20 years, and have been smoke free now for over 18 years. I gained 30 pounds practically overnight, which was odd for me because I'd always been thin. Don't let anyone tell you that weight gain is not inevitable when you quit. It's much more than just an oral fixation, which is…

I know it can be overwhelming to sort out all of the jargon! Eating healthy food is a bit more costly because you have to buy fresh stuff. I find it amazing and sad that fast food is cheaper than real food! I've been watching my calories using ONLY myfitnesspal.com since June and have lost 24 lbs of the 50 I want to lose.…

Gorgeous pictures, and what a special vacation! You simply HAVE to enjoy the local cuisine when you travel. You did well be eating a light breakfast and lunches when possible, but it wouldn't be a vacation without a little indulgence!

Welcome to the group, and back to MFP, Debbie! You'll find lots of support and encouragement here, as well as women who share your goals and understand your struggles. Sherry

Um, bring them to work?

Hi there, This is a great method to lose weight in a HEALTHY way. 2 kg per week (almost 4.5 lbs) sounds extreme to me. Doctors recommend 1-2 lbs weekly as a healthy, sustainable weight loss. You might be able to drop your desired 60 lbs in 6 months, but you could be setting yourself up for another failure. I urge you to…

I'm Sherry. When I was setting up my account, every option I tried with my first name was taken. I didn't think at that time I could have added a unique number afterward.

It sounds to me like you are worrying excessively about this. Do you think they feed their children buckets of gravy smothered in chocolate sauce for every meal? Yes, it would be rude to pack all your own food and eat separately from the family at every meal. I agree, though, that taking along some healthy snacks is a…

Lost weight on vacation? Way to go! Keep up your great work. You'll be there before you know it!

I also suffer from chronic depression and anxiety. Interesting enough, it started when I quit smoking almost 20 years ago. Do you currently take medication for depression? There are some wonderful antidepressant meds available, although you may have to try a few before you find the right one for you. There's no reason to…

Haven't heard of it myself, but I'm embarassed to admit that hubby and I fell for the raspberry ketones and spent close to $100 for nothing. I've never been one of "those" people. I think it was Dr. Oz that sucked me in. :embarassed:

I made kale chips once. It was a lot of work, and they weren't great. I'll never do it again! I agree that air popped popcorn is good. I spray it with zero calorie cooking spray and shake on seasoning salt and Tabasco sauce. Yum!

Hi Ross, It looks to me like you are eating too much sugar - bananas, yogurt, fruit, energy bars are all loaded with it. That could be contributing to your "belly". Congratulations on quitting smoking. I did 20 years ago and promptly gained 30 pounds. I applaud you for noticing the slight weight gain early on and taking…

Often for me it's sliced lunch meat (turkey, ham, or pastrami), raw vegies like broccoli, carrots, zuchini, and some reduced fat Triscuits. Oh, and I put Laughing Cow cheese on the crackers. Sort of like a grownup Lunchable. I hadn't thought about baked sweet potatoes for lunch. Great idea, Cara! Oh, and I try to stay away…

I agree with Sedna. Sounds like you need counseling. What you are describing sounds dangerously like anorexia nervosa. You started out your post by saying you've never really been outside a healthy weight range, but ended it by saying you don't want to "blimp up". And, seeing a "cow" in the mirror makes me worry about you.…

Pizza and beer is going to be my reward when I make it to 20 lbs lost. I'm excited that this will most likely be next week or the week after. I've had a slice or two of pizza since starting MFP, but no beer, and I miss it!

yogadownload.com has podcasts and some free yoga classes on line. They have classes specifically for runners. Also, if you use iTunes, search for Sage Rountree Yoga. She has podcasts for runners. Both of these podcast classes are usually 20 minutes in length.

Good idea! I brush my teeth after lunch to take my mind off of food.

Some days I'm super hungry all day, and I feel like I will go crazy! The days I'm the most satisfied are days where I've eaten lots of fiber and protein and have kept busy enough to not think about food. I also think I'm just getting used to being slightly hungry most of the time. It's kind of a relief not to feel…

If I could, I wouldn't have lost a bra cup size!

On the other hand, I hesitate to accept friend requests because I don't spend much time online other than to log my food and exercise, and don't feel I can be supportive enough.

I definitely think you should stop stressing about it. Stress hormones (cortisol) cause weight gain, especialy around the middle. Is it possible that you are at your ideal weight already? I agree with OhLeita that you are probably adding muscle (which weighs twice as much as fat). Good luck with the measurements tomorrow.

Me either!
