Any vegetable with a little olive oil, 2-4 cloves of chopped garlic, s&p, roasted at 400 degrees until its done. Some of our favorites are broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, brussel sprouts. (I usually omitt the garlic for the last 2) I roast cubed sweet potatoes the same way.

This is Captain Jack, I am on week 7 of C25K and had to stop taking him with me at W4 because he makes me run to fast and I can't finish the runs. I am hoping to bring him along with me in the next couple of weeks as I get used to running 30 minutes, he can help me increase my speed. does anyone know why that is huge but…

OOOOOh! I didn't even know about that! I'll have to check that out for sure!
-
Thank you!
-
Aww, he's a keeper!

I did W7D2 today it was a 27 min run and it was easier for me than W6D3, I don't know why that was such a tough day but it was really, really tough! You'll do fine on W7D1, just keep going, slow and steady wins the race!

Congratulations! Enjoy your first 5K and please let us know how it goes.

Slow down, your probably running to fast and remember that at this point it's probably mental and not so much physical. Your going to have to actively talk yourself into not stopping. I am on week 7 and when I run, I run very slowly and I push myself to finish but I'm able to get it done.

Maybe this will help http://www.hundredpushups.com/index.html#sthash.fWXU2cr9.dpbs

Make sure you do your 5 minute warm up and if you are having a hard time getting through your run then you probably need to slow down. The goal is distance not speed. Once you graduate and are running for 30 minutes at a time you can work on speed. I would also find a place with less hills if you could. As for your shoes,…

I am intrigued enough to want to try that, it sounds crazy LOL! I googled and found this http://www.skyrunner.com/screwshoe.htm

It will be hard to help you unless you open your diary and let us see how you are "spending" those 1500 calories, that really does make a difference.

Don't beat yourself up over it, shake it off and take this one day at a time. Think about where you want to be 6 months from now and concentrate on that! You can do this!!

My W7D1 is tomorrow Run 20 walk 3 and Run 5 and I was feeling the same way you described for Day 2 and 3 last week. My breathing was good but I really did have to force myself to keep going so we'll have to see how this goes. I figure this is my body's last fight to stop this and go back to sitting all day and I'm just not…

The time spent typing that out should have been spent calling your doc and explaining to them what happened and asking them if you need to come in. Oh, and if you didn't call them already, call your doctor!

I am using a different app and my 20 min run was today W6D2. I did it and if my 47 yr old 100 pounds overwieght self can run it then you can too. Just keep moving, you've got this!
-
How fast were you running, maybe you need to slow down. This is about endurance, speed will come with time.
-
Congratulations to you for finishing!!!! Good luck with your race on the 9th.

This is the opposite of most of the advice given but I don't drink with meals. The theory is that if you drink with your meals you are flushing food from your stomach at a much quicker rate. If you put applesauce in a funnel it will drip out slowly, if you pour water on top of the applesauce it will go through much quicker…

If I win I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I'm going anyway, but if I win I'm staying longer and in a better hotel!

You go girl, run it like a boss!

Your looking great! Keep up the good work!!!!!

Me to, I have found if I shower within the first 15 - 20 minutes after a workout I can usually minimize it but on the days that I get busy around the house and don't get in the shower for a while I will freeze for a long time after my shower.
-
Sounds like a real workout. You should cut and past that post into a word document so next year you can read it and remember when!

I plan to not have any vino, it's like potato chips for me, I can't have just one. I am better off just not drinking at all. It's a huge change for me because in years past I would easily drink a bottle at dinner and then come home and open another.

You look great, keep up the good work!

It's probably your app, I use this one and don't have that problem. You can also use pandora with this app https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ease-into-5k/id301233668?mt=8 Another bonus for this app is that the dreaded W5D3 that everyone refers to doesnt happen until W6D2

Chico's is actually on my list of stores to try when I get my weight down a little more. With the exception of coldwater creek I have never stepped foot in any of the stores mentioned above. I just wasn't comfortable at 200+ pounds to go into them. They are all on my reward list!!
-
You rock!!!! Thanks for the inspiration! I finished W5D1 today and will be thinking of your story as I push through the rest of the week.
-
Congratulations on finishing 2 5K races!!!! I think it's awesome that in spite of all the hills you still beat your time, your story is inspiring!
