I love this! I would also recommend that you check out www.mybodygallery.com Enter your height, your current weight (or goal weight) and body shape (I am pear-shaped, for example) and see the variety of bodies. It is really eye-opening to see that we all carry our weight differently.

My gold '96 Saturn SW2 is still on the road and named "Goldie" (I know you're stumped where the name came from). Lately, she's the old gold mare as in the song "The old grey mare she ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be...."

I'm 5'3" and my goal weight is 140. Check out www.mybodygallery.com You can search for others at your height and weight (or proposed goal weight) and see how others look. Not everyone carries their weight the same way!

I like Just Dance 2014 (Just Sweat portion) for Wii, but I use it as a break from my usual activities. Have you asked **her** what she would like to do? Does she prefer dancing, hiking, playing soccer? If you two do the activity together that might be more enticing than if you said "Here honey, I bought you a Wifi Fit…

I love this idea!

Same! Best of luck to you - I would love to follow your progress. Please consider doing a website/blog :flowerforyou:

I've been doing Leslie Sansone's Walk It Off in 30 Days. It has two workouts - Burn 30 (cardio) and Firm 30 (strength training). Works for me because I am a beginner. I started with 5 lbs and now use 8 lbs weights. I also have Sworkit Pro app and FitStar on my iPhone which I use occasionally - these are more push-ups,…

I think you are lovely. Women in my family tend to resemble bowling pins - skinny on the top with bodacious hips - you are nicely proportioned. This website is a great one for those with hourglass or pear-shapes: http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/deadly-capri-lavender.html

Welcome back! No shame in having to start over - life happens and it's good to get back into it. I am trying to look at every "failure" as a lesson - what is my behavior trying to tell me? Did I need to HALT, in other words was it because I was too Hungry Angry Lonely or Tired? Being an emotional eater, sometimes life…

My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 in Nov 2011. I was in shock for a good while, but I started to read anything I could get my hands on in order to help my daughter. I think one of my favorites is DiabeticLivingOnline.com - it is the companion website to the BH&G magazine that is available at a lot of supermarket…

What an achievement! It is marvelous to see the change - very inspiring! Congratulations!

Part of the mission of the Fitbit makers is to get people more active throughout the day. I think part of the "Obesity Epidemic" is that we move less and less - we open e-mail instead of walking to the mailbox, we have our groceries delivered instead of walking up and down the aisles of the supermarket, etc. Getting more…

I have a Fitbit One, not the Flex (bracelet) Remember that it is a fancy pedometer, and not a HRM. If you run or walk for your exercise you will love it. If you are mostly riding a stationary bike, this product is not for you. I wear my Fitbit every day (usually clipped to my bra) and I love it! I walk and hike or do…

I have struggled with binge eating too - it falls into two categories for me 1) I binge because my diet is too restrictive 2) There is some emotion that I am uncomfortable with, and I try to comfort myself/block it out with food. The answer to 1) has been to make sure I am eating enough, frequently enough. A nutritionist…

Welcome back. There is no shame in falling - it is refusing to get back up that constitutes failure. I used to use every excuse in the book - "Oh I had a bad day - I might as well eat everything in sight" or even "Ooo, I have a hangnail, I'm gonna need a chocolate cake for that." No more - I prefer to treat myself like a…

I agree with this advice. Go at your pace doing something you enjoy. You should feel invigorated but mildly tired. Leslie Sansone is a marvelous motivator and you can use a number of her videos on YouTube. She has been keeping me going during this brutal winter since I really prefer walking outside. It is tempting as a…

I see a Fitbit Zip, don't I?

"Transitions of power"? You, Sir, cannot even put together a decent sentence. Perhaps you the phrase you are looking for is "positions of power" . I encourage everyone to be emotional creatures, because power without compassion is despotism.

Think of yourself as a toddler learning to walk. You are going to fall on your butt...a lot...every day. Every toddler eventually learns to walk and even run. Each fall can teach you something - maybe you need to go slower or lean on a friend or rest. After you gather your strength, try again. You can do this!

Very impressive - it's hard to believe the before and after are the same person, you have changed so much! Congratulations on getting your life back! Hold on to that Jackie, she sounds like a keeper!
