  • Yum! I'm going to try this!
  • Me too! I lost 40 lbs two years ago, but gained 30 back while neglecting myself, caring for my Dad who passed away in February. Time to get a grip!! I'm happy to be your friend.
  • I absolutely can relate. I have been in menopause since having my hysterectomy - and it has really affected my body. I don't know if it is the menopause that is a barrier to my losing weight, or the HRT that I am taking. In any case, I am exercising and eating right, and really struggling with losing weight. I was doing…
  • Me too!! I lost 40 lbs two years ago, and today 30 of those 40 are back! I need control! I have no summer clothes that fit me :(
  • I found the best selection at Popeye's Nutrition store. I love them! They are expensive, so they are a treat. I have one in the evening to keep me from snacking on other unhealthy stuff. I look forward to it. Actually, if you get the chocolate chip cookie one, I just put it in the microwave for about 15 seconds, and it is…

  • Oops, I forgot to say that anyone here can add me as a friend. Thanks.
  • I'm 48 and I have 37 lbs to lose. I may want to lose more when I get there, but for now I would be thrilled to lose the 37 lbs! I gained 7 of those pounds over Christmas! Sheesh!
  • I buy Protein shakes and bars at either Shopper's Drug Mart or Popeyes. At Shoppers I get the IsoFemme shakes, and the stuff at Popeyes is Iso something (sorry). I like the Pure Protein bars at Shoppers, and the Quest bars at Popeyes. I start the day with a shake. At lunch I have a salad or some sort of veggies and a…
  • Good for you! It all adds up, and since you are losing weight, it is obviously working.
  • Good for you! I have used alternative proteins, and that works too. Perhaps the results don't come as fast, and you don't have the 'support' of a coach. I am now trying to eat more protein and veggies, but watching the calorie intake here on MFP. That seems to be working too, and it works with my busy lifestyle. When I am…
  • I am very fortunate to have a gym right at work for employees. I try to get there at least 4 times per week and just plan it around my meetings, etc. So that may mean a morning workout, or at my lunch break, or late afternoon. Whatever works. They also offer yoga and zumba classes, so when I can I enjoy those as well.
  • I find that I tend to munch mindlessly while watching tv at the end of the night. Last week I picked up some knitting needles, and am knitting a very simple pattern (eternity scarf), so my hands are busy, and I do not have to concentrate - and it is still mindless. I am hoping it will keep me from eating, and I will end up…

  • I have entered my info into MFP and it suggests a diet of 1200 calories. I am using protein shakes and bars to help keep me full, and to stop me from going to fast food during the day when I am on the run. (bars in my purse just in case). I am working out since there is a gym at work. That will help a lot I think. I hope…
  • Hi, I'm Corinne, and a full-time working Mom of three boys. The boys are 18, 17, and 14. My husband is great, but travels a lot with his work. I have horrible eating habits, have struggled with my weight all my life... sometimes winning and sometimes losing. Two years ago I lost 40 lbs and felt really good about myself.…
  • You can do this!! I'm starting again today as well. I am doing my own version, but the principles are the same. I need to get back into my clothes!! I refuse to buy bigger clothes.
  • Go shopping at a thrift store! It is fun, not an investment, and when you shrink out of the clothes, you just send them back to they can be a blessing to someone else. And it always feels good to be wearing clothes that fit you properly, no matter what size is written on the tags.
  • Amazing!! You have always been pretty, but now you are able to enjoy it! Awesome determination! Enjoy the rewards :)
  • I am loving the yoga. I had no idea how very 'non-flexible' I have become over the years. This is a good thing. I think I have even talked my husband into doing an evening class with me in the new year
  • I. Just. Need. To. Stop. Eating!!! So sick of being overweight!!. Life is stressful, and I can't see that changing, so somehow I have to figure out how to deal with that without eating all the time!
  • Remember why you started in the first place! We all have bad days. What defines us, is what we do after those roadblocks. Don't give in to the urge to give up and take the easy route!! Just get back to doing what you have been doing well.
  • The scale was nasty to me this morning. But when I looked in the mirror at myself in leggings, boots, and shiny shirt.... I feel great!! There is definitely progress happening here!!
  • 5'9" and my highest was about 240 after my 3rd baby. That was 14 years ago. I still have some to lose, but doing much better, and thankfully out of the 200s!! Never want to go back!
  • This sounds AWESOME!!
  • Good for you!! Very motivational!
  • I'm curious... what don't you like about being thinner? For me, it is the loose skin. I hate it.
  • I love the picture idea! I am going to do this to help me stay motivated! Thanks.
  • How do you cook the shredded zucchini? I have tons of it from the garden.
  • I'm 5'9", and used to feel tall. Now all my boys (mom to three!!) are taller than me!! I am the 'shorty' in the house. My boys are 14,16 & 18. So far, the tallest is 6'3".
  • Ouch! Try to eat as reasonably as possible, stick to veggies if you can and drink water or diet soda tonight. It sounds like you will have to live with the bad decisions made early in the day, and start fresh tomorrow - making better food choices. It's all good... just learn from it and plan ahead next time.
  • Thanks for the advice. I contacted the gym, and I need to bring my own mat. I will buy one this weekend. It sounds like everyone here loves yoga and doesn't worry too much about being embarrassed. If that is the case, I really believe I will benefit from increasing my flexibility, so I will keep up with the class. It is a…
