I usually fast before an event so that when I do eat, I have the calories to spare; but I am very picky with how I use them so I don't go overboard. Its always fun to try a little of everything though.

The only time I ever got the flu was the one year back in 2002 when I took the flu shot for the first time. While it may be good for some, its not for me. Thanks for starting this group!

I do not agree with the BMI and although I am considered overweight by its standards, I don't care. I refuse to be within its range because I am muscular and would rather look and feel strong and healthy. Good question though because it is confusing.

I wear my leg weights to work so everytime I get up, its a work out.

Dark chocolate is the best :) Keep it in the fridge so you have to get up to get it and since its hard from being in the fridge you won't be able to eat the whole thing at once.

I plan on keeping my weight in the high range for my BMI at 145. I am 5.0 but want to keep my muscles. In the past I have lost weight by fasting and excersing only to find that I lost muscle and even had people make comments that my legs looked better with more wieght. My frame is large for my height and I have a good…

Hi there! Feel free to add me for support. You're right it is hard to stay committed. The hardest thing I have had to learn is to eat to fuel my body otherwise I have no energy to workout. Good luck on your journey!

Hi there! I applaud you for signing up and welcome you! I joined MFP to make a lifestyle change which includes being committed to better eating and staying active. I am not a believer in the BMI because it all depends on how you feel and that's all that matters. This site does have a wide variety of people on here and some…

This is my first time keeping track of calories and I find it highly invasive only because some days I don't feel like eating or I fill up on veggies which have very little calories, so having to log everything to me is a pain. On the other hand being part of this site is the best thing I ever did. Knowing what I eat on a…

Hi there! Welcome! Feel free to add me too so we can help each other meet our goals!

Hi There! I am just like you and am a sugarholic! I am addicted to sugar and hate diet drinks etc. But now that I am on this site, I use my sugar sparingly. At first I was eating sugary cereals and oatmeals for breakfast and sugary Healthy Choice meals so it took me a little while to get it down. To trick my mind, I eat…

No one is sabatoging you, he is just trying to be thoughtful. Now, he may be testing you but being that you are on Myfitnesspal, you are working hard so If you decide to eat it you can work it off later. I love cake but I am selective with my sugar so you might want to only take a few bites.

Many people do not like store baked cake because it is way toooooo sweet so since it is Your Birthday, tell her what you want. If she doesn't listen and insists on buying then let your guests eat it.

Hi there! It was a snide and sarcastic way of saying that you should know how to eat and if you ask me it was not advice but a burn. So my dear it is best to forget it because some people like to say things to get a reaction. I do also believe that some food can be considered junk for us trying to lose weight, such as…

Hi there welcome to MFP!! I have an ongoing knee injury and recently started wearing a knee brace on it every time I walk or do the treadmill. As you begin to lose weight your knees will love you for it but until then try using a knee brace on each knee to help support your knees so you don't injure it worse. The knee…

Only Nightmare on Elmstreet, the first one. No other horror movie came close. Mostly it was that dead bloody girl in the body bag in the high school hallway and being told that Freddie would get us if we fell asleep!

I am going to do my workout as soon as I get home from work this afternoon but thanks for the motivation and reminder!!

Speaking of pet peeves, I go to the gym daily and a few days ago I'm on the treadmill and some lady comes in with tons of male smelling musky perfume on. Unfortunately she posted up on the treadmill right next to me so I had to stop my workout and move because I am allergic to many perfumes. To me it just seems rude to go…

Hi there! I am so proud of your decision to join this site and the fight! I am also looking to lose about 30 pounds as my current weight is 173. I am 5 feet and I aim to defy the BMI with a toned and muscled body that I feel good about. This site is filled with soooo many amazing people who I am proud to be associated…

Wow I am sooo glad you are ok! I agree with you that when we work out we are building protection for our body/bones. Thanks so much for sharing your experience and showing us that our workout efforts are going to pay off one way or another!

Hi; don't get discouraged, because you signed up for this site for support and you are not alone. Many of us on here get frustrated because we think that the weight will just drop off, but it takes time. In my case I have not lost more than 2 pounds since starting this site but I have been working out aggressively so I…

Hi; I just had mine and since I started working out consistently since June 6th, I hardly had any cramps and it was considerably light. I also managed to go to the gym and do the treadmill and the excercise bike. At first I wasn't sure if this was going to be possible but it worked out just fine. If you don't feel too good…
