Has a much younger sister, or alternatively, had a child in his twenties, unless you really want to go with the "closet perv" thing . . .

I have the same type of spiralizer, but since space is at a premium in my kitchen, I just ordered this: http://www.amazon.com/Native-Spring-Spiral-Vegetable-Slicer/dp/B00GHA3S4C/ref=sr_1_3?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1407036977&sr=1-3&keywords=vegetable+spiralizer I really only use the spiralizer for zucchini spaghetti, so…

Just wonderful! Congratulations for your honesty with yourself! :flowerforyou:

Hi there, The 1540 does *not* take your workouts into account if you called yourself "sedentary" as you entered your information. Therefore you would want to eat back your exercise calories to prevent further weight loss. It sounds like you know your body is asking you for more food. Could you make a deal with yourself to…

For an inexpensive but nutritious snack, try avocados. Also, canned salmon is pretty cheap. If you mix it with olive oil and lemon to taste it's a nice healthy protein. Look for BPA-free cans if you can find them. Sometimes I eat the salmon salad in an avocado "boat." Olives are a nice snack, if you like savory things. A…

I wanted to wish you well. I don't purge myself, but here's what I've noticed. When I record my foods, I feel less guilty and anxious about what I've eaten, even if it wasn't ideal. But I don't know how this would work for someone with bulimia.

That is a huge accomplishment!! Congratulations! :flowerforyou:

That's fantastic! You're doing great, and you're so beautiful!

Oh, one other thing. A lot of paleo folks swear by coconut oil for the medium chain triglycerides, and (if you enjoy it) liver for the vitamin boost for providing energy.

Hi there, I can't see your diary now--did you close it? I wonder as well if your carbs are too low, perhaps below 50 per day? You almost sound like your in ketosis, which works well for some folks but can be problematic for others (especially if you have, say, an underlying thyroid problem, like I do). Anyway, this varies…

Hmm. I'd have to second (or third) the comments above that suggest that's not a good idea. If you want to try intermittent fasting, that's something to consider, but I'd do it with lots of bone broth. "Cleansing" supplements in a pill form don't sound very natural or paleo in approach.

Hmm. I thought the reason cyclists shaved their legs was to avoid hairy complications with the inevitable road rash from taking a turn too fast and wiping out. I can't imagine it'd affect your time, unless it's some kind of placebo effect!

I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter is dealing with thyroid cancer, but I'm glad they caught it and that you've been able to find something positive in this! I really love cooking, and it definitely helps me eat in a more healthy way when I do my own cooking from scratch. My husband and I have a really nice…

I'd second most of the things already mentioned. Here's a recipe I thought I'd kick in, for radish and jicama tabbouli. It keeps for quite a few days, it's light and refreshing if your school doesn't have air conditioning (most of ours don't), and it's a great way to get a bunch of veggies in. Sometimes I have it with…

I think your legs look slimmer too!

Nectarine slices wrapped with prosciutto, pineapple chunks wrapped in bacon and roasted. I'm having a sweet and savory thing!

That's an amazing amount of weight lost. Congratulations for your dedication and hard work!

You look great! Congratulations!

There's some comfortable shapewear out there. I found some at Target--I didn't want something to squeeze me like a sausage. This stuff is more like a light pair of shorts that just smoothes you out a tiny bit. I have a little tummy from my c-section, and it works great for that, plus it's light and not tight feeling. I…

I had a great time in Ireland. Galway was especially beautiful, and so were the Aran Islands! Which little town in Colorado are you talking about?

I do track, but just to bring awareness to what I'm eating, and to see if I'm getting way over the top with calories. I like tracking--it actually makes me feel less anxious about what I'm eating. I'm reading "The Paleo Approach" right now, and she says not to sweat the macros.

You might want to go over to the Paleo/Primal boards. That sounds like what you're doing.

That sounds great! I'l have to check it out. My personal favorite is "You are Your Own Gym," which times you, puts together workouts, and has videos to accompany you!
-
I just wanted to second the point that it's your triglycerides that you want to keep an eye on, and your HDL. Don't sweat the LDL, as long as your triglycerides are low!

A cookbook that I found really complete and helpful is Practical Paleo, by Diane Sanfilippo. It has breakfasts through (gasp) desserts, and many meal plans depending on your reasons for doing paleo. The recipes are realistic and doable, and have turned out well for me!

Hmm. So I looked this up, and it seems like the general recommendation for women with PCOS is to limit their carbohydrate intake. That puts you in the land of low carb and paleo, most likely. Eggs, canned salmon and tuna are cheap options. Keep in mind that you may have disliked veggies that were 1) under-cooked, and 2)…

You look really wonderful! We're about the same height. I'm so impressed by all of your physical activity!
