I agree -- 1 to 2 lbs a week is not only safe, but doable without feeling like you are a slave to your body. That brings you into burnout mode and then to yo-yo workouts/weigh-ins/calorie counting. This is a lifestyle, not a quick fix. Good habits to continue through the rest of your life so you won't have to try to take…

Needing motivation also...would l love to help you too!

I'm 5 feet exactly I started at 1200 calories a day. You have to stay honest with the calories. If you walk 10,000 + steps a day that should help you at the beginning…I have a feeling you may not have "estimated" your calories correctly in the past. Move forward and be honest and you will figure out if you can eat more or…

Okay…think I posted the quote backwards…anyways I'm from Southern Mass… I see we do have a nice group of New Englanders represented here….though I should have been a southern girl for my tolerance of snow and cold… your snack sounds lovely…especially the mug of fat free hot chocolate…yummmm

Good Morning All from cold (frigid) New England. I just want to thank everyone for their insight so far. I have read all the posts and I am amazed by the dedication and ingenuity of everyone….and the gratitude…what a positive forum for me in a time of life that is really in a state of flux. My goal today is to log…

Hi Everyone and Happy New Year! I am new to this post so let me introduce myself….my name is Ann and I live in New England where it is very cold and sunny today…I am married and have two grown sons. I am currently working in a hospital in a nonclinical position and going to school to finish my degree which has been a long…

Beautiful pics! You have a really great eye….

How about nonfat or low fat ricotta cheese? Protein and less sodium. Broil on toast, add red roasted peppers to it…yum! Small curd cottage cheese with chives..yumm or with canned mandarin orange pieces.

Me too! I have the same problem….too big on the waist but a little snug on the hips/butt….keep trying different pants…the higher end clothing companies are a little more generous through the hips.

I use what the package says or try to come as close as possible with ingredients when out at a restaurant…I usually order things that I can estimate easily and does not need a lot of different ingredients. Most deli products are 70 - 80 cal. 2 ounce serving. Cheese is usually 80-90 cals an ounce (or a slice if sliced…

Bump Sounds wonderful and good for on the go….

bump sounds delicious!!

Now this is just cruel and mean…..but I am going to try to trim 400 cals off this ….I'm thinking light butter, light cream cheese, less glaze and so on….

I am 5' 0 and at my highest was 169 (horrifying to me) now down to 156…my goal is 126…or as close as I can go without starving myself. I love the term "fun size". I always liked being short but now with the extra weight it's not so cute anymore…please feel free to add me!

I think some people may not have seen the undertone of the original post….if you look at what some people have accomplished (as in losing 50, 60, 70 + lbs) it can be a little intimidating when you only want to lose 10, 15, 20 lbs. You may feel like you don't belong here. I have a way to go and I wish I had only 10 - 25 lbs…

I just got back from the second doctor for my bloating…didn't think it was food until I got off of wheat totally and went gluten free…felt better for about a month. Now I'm in agony and bloated constantly…I am eating a lot of yogurt and fruits…seems everything bothers me. My son had the breath testing for lactose/dairy and…

I am not saying I learnt how to deal with it all today, but I'm definitely one step closer. That one sentence alone shows you are learning how to deal with scarey food situations and still stay in check. Very happy for you! You did well today!!!

I think you should relax for a week…don't go crazy working out…eat as you have been. You body has plateaued and it's not always more that changes that…sometimes it's less. In the pictures you look great! Not sure what you are looking for, but I think you are overthinking and stressing over something that will eventually…

The best 200 lbs anyone could ask for….Congrats on your "gain"

when I get discouraged and ask "Why am I doing this?"...my answer is always "Because I Can"...which applies to many things in life
