Haha that's actually a good way of thinking about it! :) We rarely do buffets, thankfully. But this applies to me in any restaurant type place where the nutritional info isn't available. I've had a tendency in the past to beat myself up over eating something I couldn't necessarily count properly.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! My all or nothing mentality is probably my #1 obstacle in my weight loss, so these suggestions are very helpful. :)

That is spot on, really. Thank you.

Wow, I think we are twins!! That sounds a lot like me. One slip up and I feel like all is lost. I know in my rational mind that is not true, however it seems I don't often listen to that part of my mind as often as I need to. The biggest problem for me is that when I turn off, it's not just for a meal, or a day or two.…

Not better, not worse, just different. If you need extra support and/or extra accountability, then the meetings are incredibly valuable. Not cheap though. If you prefer the points system, it is very easy to do at home without paying for meetings or paying for the online stuff. There are a million free apps out there that…

I love it with Wheat Thins, carrots, peas, and mixed in with steamed broccoli. So good.

A friend of mine did one, and found it made no difference at all. The rep she bought it from said the more you do, the more results you get. Sounds like a waste of money, and lots of money.

I am so glad I read this today...you give me hope. I was 280 at the end of my second pregnancy, now sitting at about 250. My belly used to be relatively flat but now is so far from it...and most of my family is obese as well. Sometimes it feels hopeless. But it's not!! Thank you. :)

I have almost 100lbs to lose. Feel free to add me as well.

I don't want to be fat. Oh, how I hate being fat. Somedays I can't look in a mirror because of it. Somedays I get anxiety about just leaving the house because of it. But I will be the first to admit that I was once full of excuses for being fat: It's in my genes. I have emotional issues stemming from being abused as a…

I got some at Target.

A lot of foods are marketed as being "healthy" options. I remember being at a fast food restaurant and they had muffins called "healthy sensations". (I think it was McDonald's, but can't remember for sure). I looked at the nutritional info since it was posted on the wall, and those muffins had over 400 calories each. And…

Obviously MFP counts them, but I don't. Not really, anyway. I am working hard to cut down (and eventually out) breads, pasta, rice, potatoes, that kind of stuff. But I won't limit my vegetables no matter what, and as long as I'm not going crazy with fruit, then I don't worry about that either. I think it just comes down to…

Love it. Though I tend to prefer the brands higher in sodium, which probably isn't a good thing... I used to add All Bran flakes to it for some crunch, until I started trying to cut down on my carbs. It's great on its own though.

The peanut butter was the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten. The mayo was also disgusting. The chocolate sauce was okay. Not great, but not terrible. The BBQ sauce was okay as well. I tried a few of the salad dressings, and found that while some of them tasted okay, they didn't taste like the flavor they were…
