Yes, very interested. I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life easily and am going to start training for a 1/2 marathon soon, but don't want to just run during this time period because of all the benefits of strength training.
-
Okay - first of all, you look great and I have to ask too - what is 5x5 and how do I get your type of results??
-
Thanks for all of the good advice. I think I will completely take a day off tomorrow and rest and see how I feel Saturday before I run. And get a couple of good nights sleep!

I'm in Missouri...could be the pollen. Typically doesn't bother me, but to be honest, I've never really had an active lifestyle in the Spring before.

The temperature went from highs of 30-40 mid-day to 75-80 with 70% humidity. Not HOT by any means but a pretty drastic change. I haven't been resting because I feel like running (11 min./mile pace - very slow) just 30 or so minutes one day is not enough to justify a day of doing nothing. I have been doing some intense body…

I felt the same way when I started - I'm an accountant and also LOVE the math. Weight loss finally just made sense and it worked when I played the numbers game with myself. I lost my 50th total pound this week and it took me a little over a year. However, I, along with "getting" the math, also got that this was a forever…

I would always love one more friend. I'll send an add and good luck. You CAN do this!

That makes me so proud of you and so inspired. I'm doing this for my kids too - not so they necessarily outwardly recognize my accomplishments, but so that they think being active is just a normal part of life. How wonderful of you to include your kids in your amazing journey. There is no better praise!!!
-
I would love to support you so feel free to add me! You CAN and you WILL do this for you and for a healthier life!

It is SO overwhelming and I've been at this since January. I have had steady, consistent weight loss for the most part so it's paid off. I think everything you read here should be taken at face value and realize that all people are just trying to do better and make themselves better. That being said, YOU know your body…

Ugh...I know the feeling. I work in a grocery store and my office is CONVENIENTLY located above the deli where the smells of fried chicken, freshly baked breads, cookies, and sodium filled deli cuts and cheese float through the air all day. So, everyday is work food day for me. However, even in the midst of that one can…

Absolutely inspiring. You deserve that suit - wear it proudly!!!

That is a fantastic success! And there are so many more to come. Keep up your hard work and dedication.

This topic hits home because my weight loss was initially motivated by two things: 1. Being embarrassed to be seen at the pool even though my kids desperately wanted to go and love to swim. It finally hit home that my negative self image (weight induced) was directly and immediately affecting them. 2. Not wanting to take…

That is hysterical. And true!

Love my guacamole recipe - 4 avacados, 1 roma tomato, 1/3 cup red onion, jalapenos (optional), 1/2 bunch fresh cilantro and the juice from two limes. Smash it up and serve. Delish.

I would love to have another friend on this journey - I need ALL the motivation and support I can get too - add me if you like and best of luck to you.

You look totally fabulous. I am actually 35lbs total into my weight loss and would love some new friends to help keep me motivated as I am finding it much harder lately. Friend request coming your way. Keep up the good work - you can do this!!

I would be happy to be some support for you. I have actually been a MFP member since February-ish. I have lost about 30 lbs plus 5-6 lbs before starting on this site and am wanting to drop another 10-15 to be at my final goal/maintenance weight. The thing is, if you're dedicated to doing it slowly but surely and once and…

Hi - I'm Dru a 30 y/o full time working mommy of 2. I started with a goal of 40 lbs back in February but recently reached 35lbs gone (total 30 since MFP) and now want to drop 50 total and tone, tone, tone. The energy thing was a big factor for me and it has been worth all of the discipline and mind/body retraining to get…

Great reasons to start this journey! Good luck and feel free to add me for motivation if you want. I've been at this since February and believe the accountability MFP provides is key to my success so far.
-
I'm needed some more motivation too - request coming your way. Here's to a new journey!
-
Request coming your way - I have been at it since February but am in a rut and would love some new, extra motivated friends to help me out and me to return the favor.
-
:drinker: Congrats - all of your hard work is paying off and it's wonderful for people to notice, however, they go about it. Super motivating - go you!

I hit a 3 week plateau and went into maintenance mode for about 2 weeks (I was also sick so that kind of forced me to do so) but after 2 weeks of slowing down my workouts and eating a 300-400 hundred calories more a day...I lost 3 lbs. I went right back into exercising hard core - way more strength training than cardio and…

This is fantastic. If you can not only maintain but lose in these circumstances you have set yourself up for nothing but success!!! Congrats to you!!!

The things I thought I would miss the most, I really don't miss at all...soda, candy, fried food in general. I miss Velveeta Shells and Cheese, anything Italian, and wine. I used to have a 1/2 or 1 glass of merlot at night but I feel guilty using my calories for wine...(insert longing sigh here...). I still splurge on a…

This sounds like an awesome recipe - just got that cookbook myself and I was skeptical because I don't like to make "low fat" or "fat free" substitutions - I'd rather just find a healthier more natural option. However, there are a TON of good recipes in that book and many of them chocked full of veggies. I will try this…

Me too - although I've been on this journey for a few months, I need some extra motivation lately. Sending requests to any that mentioned they needed some support as well. Good luck!!
