  • Try this for a few days: Stay low carb (under 50 grams) for a week. It takes 3 days just to go into ketosis... fat burning mode by eating low carb. In order to not be so darned hungry you have to eat lots of protein. Try to eat at least 100 grams and up to your body weight. Stay away from sugary fruit and processed foods.…
  • I had two knee surgeries over 20 years ago and my knee has always been an issue... floating knee cap, instability, always somewhat swollen, etc. I do have osteoarthritis in that knee, but it is very mild and not causing pain. I started to have paint a few months after starting crossfit and it turns out my knee cap is not…
  • Shin splints while running are commonly caused by low magnesium levels (even low in the so-called "normal" range). You could try a Magnesium supplement for a couple months and see if that helps. (best to take before bed - helps you sleep better). Take some of Brandon's. LOL Most of us should be supplementing magnesium…
  • I don't rely on the mayo clinic as a credible source of truthful information. The guidelines are designed to get you on a statin for life.
  • Check out the Spunky Coconut blog, she also has recipe books for sale. Her recipes are gluten free and healthy.
  • Maybe you could try not eating bananas for a week or two, then reintroduce them. That should give you an idea if they are hampering your weight loss or not.
  • My advice would to be to do some research on gluten and consider eliminating it from your diet. It seems that most doctors do not think gluten plays a role in chron's disease, but they very well could be wrong.
  • Your story is so inspiring and motivating! Thank you so much for sharing with the rest of us!
  • I think there is so much more to this story that isn't being addressed. If hypothyroidism was properly identified and treated the number of individuals diagnosed would at least double. Holistic doctors have estimated that half of us have some kind of underlying thyroid problem. If this is true, it could explain why so many…
  • The government agency studies are biased, as they are for most things... not a source I trust at all. HCG does help you lose weight... but are you prepared to take HCG injections for the rest of your life? HCG boosts thyroid and there is a doctor in AZ that is using it to treat thyroid resistance. I learned this after…
  • Thank you for all of those links. I can't wait to go and read them! I'm thinking I'm not eating enough...
  • I have a few suggestions for you to try. You would have to decide if you think they are sustainable or not. Try eating lower carbs, more protein. Maybe try to match up the protein grams to the net carb grams (net carbs are carbs minus fiber). For protein, try to stay away from the processed meats. If you can't get grass…
  • And pastured raised meat is usually no more expensive if you invest in a freezer and buy a whole pig (or half cow) at a time.
  • Just wanted to say "thank you" too all of you who sent me a friend request. I look forward to getting to know everyone and learn more about Paleo! Kim
  • Thank you so much for this! If you click on the Author's name it brings up a list of a few other Paleo cookbooks she has. Those are all .99 to buy!

  • Almond milk is a great alternative to regular milk. I use coconut milk in my cooking, but it tastes awful straight. I think the almond milk tastes great straight. I get the "unsweetened" variety.
  • I think I'm going to try this without the crust first and see how I like it!
  • I got my fitbit just a few weeks ago. I love it. Please feel free to add me!
