  • Too be totally honest I figure can I cut about 10lbs or a little less before competing, and while I am training no point in going 100% year round as it will take away from recovery and general level of mental energy pacing. So I added 5lbs on top of 10lbs or so of water weight (or a little bit of extra fat). Since I want…
  • Of course there is one huge benefit. You don't have to work at it, or not really that but you don't have to work at it only to fail again and again until you slowly do more and more right. No failure and no worries. Just eat and be fat. It's easy. With that said just like anything in life, it's best to put the work in for…
  • Anxiety and anger which can lead to me not caring about what I eat. I lose focus.
  • I have been fat ever since I was little, I had to teach myself how much to eat and educate myself on what and when to eat. I really only cared once I got into MMA.
  • It really depends on what you are doing. I believe strongly in working out for a purpose (better cardio, to get stronger, increase agility). Even then it depends on what the purpose of the purpose is (for powerlifting, for mma, for football, for running, for general health ect.) Your not really going to lose weight by…
  • I weighed 225lbs at 5'4 so simply by eating like half the ice cream at night or a few less pizza rolls I lost like 10lbs in like two weeks. It eventually got harder and I had to make real changes. Took me five years to get down to 155. That is because I stalled and slowly made changes, it wasn't a constant thing.
  • I'm no doctor so I would suggest asking them and a strength trainer what exercises are appropriate for your current state. I find the cardio helps with weight loss, but even that is mostly water. The benefit is over long periods of time it keeps the metabolism up, diet is pretty much the key factor with weight loss.
  • At the end of February I had a ham and cheese sandwich and curly fries from Arby's.
  • Looks like we have to get to about the same weight. I joined this site to bide time during the extra push as I suffer from anxiety. I'll join your quest.
  • Sorry to hear about the job, but on the bright side now you can focus on your health! Never ever give up, there is no substitute for persistence. Don't ever think of it as a weight thing, you can get skinny eating six ho-hos a day you'll just be killing yourself. If you make a mistake early in the day never say "of screw…
  • Back when I first got from 225-185 was when people really started making comments. So that's about 35lbs. My Dad didn't really get comments till he lost about 40lbs but he is a much larger man than I. People probably notice around 20 or so but it's not big enough for them to comment or they aren't 100% if you have or not,…
  • Actually alcoholism can be a genetic disease. Most people don't want to hear it but about 20% of people actually have changes in the chemical receptors in their brains. People are extremely prejudice against people who are alcoholics and they are constantly thrown under the bus because most people drink and don't want to…
  • This guy clearly doesn't know how to treat people and at this point in his life he never will. He's an *kitten*. I would suggest leaving him. No wonder you are an emotional eater, this guy is doing everything in his power to prevent your success. Don't second guess yourself and get out.
