Well thank God I'm a celery, hot pepper, and broccoli fanatic !! seriously damn you blueberry muffin for being so delicious yet so dangerous at the same time....

I just started with week 4 of my c25k program, and I run only on a treadmill for now. I figure I will probably do the program on the treadmill, and then go back 2 weeks to try and start running outside. Anyways I'm sidelined with pretty wicked shin splints so I'm on a 2 week break (and I am pretty disappointed). If you are…

Just one for me as well: Firefly. The only show I've ever truly missed. "theres no place that I can be.... since I found Serenity"

Well as an update...I've lost a little more weight and have added some stretching into my daily routine. The difference is huge. I am experiencing zero stiffness and/or joint pain the last week or so. Thanks for the advice on stretching...seems to be helping quite a bit.

I know exactly how you feel !!! I too never thought I would enjoy running but I am loving it. I am halfway through the c25k program and as of two days ago I have terrible shin splints. No running for about 2 weeks and I am actually very disappointed/PO about this. I guess there's not much we can do but heal up and hope we…

Good catch !! My wife is 6 years older than me and had her son Joe at the age of 18, years before we were together. I adopted him when we got married. But...just to keep the image alive.....:smokin: My wife and I grew up 4 houses down from each other. She was in prime baby-sitting age when I was still pretty young so of…

Maybe try working some strength training into your routine ? I don't think you can 'spot-control' where you lose fat but you might be able to firm up your pecs quite a bit by doing some chest presses on a machine or bench pressing. Even pressing some dumbbells will probably help. I know in the month I've been working out,…

wow...seems to be some hangry people on this thread.  I personally eat very little to zero exercise calories back. I figure I have about 100 lbs of 'stored energy' to tap into before I need to worry about replacing spent energy. I also underestimate my calories burned.

I think that they have the right to run a cover pic any way they choose...and I fully hope the *kitten*-storm completely blows up in their faces. It seems to me a desperate attempt to remain important in todays society...PR by any means necessary

Just saw this exact thing yesterday. I was on the treadmill and this guy gets on on one in front of me. He had a most impressive upper body...huge arms, wide v back, etc and then he had these completely under developed tiny- skinny legs. I thought to myself he couldn't possibly support his upper body with those toothpicks.…

Color me a little jealous. I'm on track to lose 10 lbs this month and I thought I was doing pretty good,, but 18 is pretty awesome !!

This fat boy totally agrees with you on that. Supposed to be even hotter and more humid Wednesday here by me in the midwest

Interesting article, thanks for posting the link.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I really think that as I lose more weight, and therefore more pressure off my joints, the better this will get. I do warm up for all workouts...10 mins on the elliptical before lifting, and now that I've started C25K, walking for 5 min before jogging. I also usually cool down using the…

Wow..5.2 is jogging for me, and at a sorta quick clip. Brisk walking for me is 4.0

The way I look at it, cheat days, or cheat meals are for people on diets. In my mind I have chosen a lifestyle change, not a diet. I am choosing to live within a set caloric range, and I can eat what ever I want within that range. Most times I choose to try and eat healthy, but sometimes I just want a couple slices of…

I figured it was damn husband.....lol

Its way too low. You should be eating at a MINIMUM your calories as defined by MFP. In addition to that amount you should make an effort to eat back most if not all of your exercise calories. From what I understand as you lose weight, your caloric intake decreases so you should be enjoying the amount you have now. A good…

5'10" 304 lbs I'm in losing mode so my caloric intake is 1820. Any type of exercise nets me more and I usually eat back about 75% of those. So far so good. I'm eating better and pretty much what I want just not in huge amounts.
-
Like so many others here, I started at 307, I'm 5'10". I'll definitely send a request. Always looking for motivational friends. I log daily and am trying to stay pretty active on the forums.

I'll add you. I'm on daily and am always looking for motivational friends.

I am into my third week and have had the realization that this is a life change, not the whole 'need to lose a few pounds' thing going on. I am pretty active on the site here and plan on logging calories and exercise till I hit my goals. You can add me, and anyone else wants to add me that's cool too !
-
I salute your journey !! Awesome job. Our 'statistics' (well your beginning stats) are a mirror image of mine with the height exception. I am just into my third week and can only hope that I will have the success you are having. I might have missed the question if it was asked but what was your daily calorie intake (if you…

I am so out of the whole fitness thing I had to google 'kettleball'....ha. Last time I spent any time in a gym they didn't have kettleballs. It was dumbells or nothing. As for running outside..not there yet. We will see after I get some of the excess off. Even when I was 'in shape' I was never a great jogger although I…

I did no consult a trainer for this, and maybe I should so its something I will look into to. I have workout fanatic friends, and asked them about starting routines They explained that just exercising and getting my heart rate up in addition to caloric intake makes a huge difference. I understand that this isn't…

although not into super spicey...i am addictated to franks and sriracha. just looked tonight and franks has zero calories...how awesome is that ???
-
Yea...I am ordering one for sure. I think I may be more active outside of working out than I figure...I think my main issue is gluttonous intake of calories I don't need....but looking to change that.
