  • I started running last winter on a treadmill. Completed the C25K and was regularly running 10k. When the weather turned warmer I wanted to try running outside and realized a couple things instantly. I started off running way too fast. I was totally gassed by mile 3. Got so used to the treadmill moving at a constant pace…
  • Oh I soooo understand this. Some days its like opposing forces arguing in my head....
  • Saturday ran 6.25 in 1:08:12 in like 85 degree humid weather. I felt good and could have kept going except for the fact that I was in desperate need of body glide you know where...:embarassed: :frown: Thats the first time I have ever had THAT happen....
  • I love the fact that a year ago I said to myself..'in a year I will be able to run more than 5 minutes at a time, that I will enjoy the run not for exercise but for the actual run, that I will be able to just start running in a random direction because I haven't run that direction yet. A year later when I run, I…
  • You can add me. I have had my fair share of ups and downs on this road. I don't eat clean, but have had some success losing weight while eating pizza and drinking beer. And I found out I really enjoy running. A lot.
  • Bursitis in the hip can cause a pain, usually more intense after you are done running. For me it was more of a tightness with a almost burning pain right where your butt=side meets your hip. The only way I can control it was to stop running for about 2 weeks, started a weight training program that focused on my core and…
  • like the above poster stated, buttermilk will take the 'fishy' and 'gamey' taste out of wild caught fish and game.

  • The premium grilled chicken sandwich is actually pretty tasty....the one with lettuce, tomato, and bacon Sandwich...590 small fries............290
  • Taylor scale. I got mine at Target. It has grams, oz, lbs, , goes up to 11 lbs and I think it was less than $20
  • Hey all...been lurking a while in this group although was kinda active in the C25K group. My name is Matt, and I am a endorphin junkie. The bigger problem may be for me though is I am not sure if its the endorphin high I am addicted to, or the chasing of it. Up until last fall I have never run,....ever. Started with C25K,…
  • You could go that route....but for the extra $10 or so in savings I say patronize your local running store. They usually have awesome and invaluable advice, free classes on form and breathing techniques, as well as discounts on other items such as running socks, etc. My particular store has a deal that for every $250 you…
  • The best advice would be to go to a running store and get a run analysis done. They will record your stride and try and fix your running issues with the correct shoes. Everyone is different so what works for me might not work for you. That said I am a over-pronating heel-striker who was suffering terrible shine splints.…
  • Crazy B.itch......Buckcherry
  • I only log dedicated workouts. Movement that I do anyway through the course of a day...like house cleaning, etc, I never log. The only exception for me is shoveling snow as that can be as intense a workout as going to the gym for the same amount of time. Even walking around the county zoo or a summer festival I don't log…
  • I started the C25K program at 305 lbs. I am down to 260 now. It took me about 14 weeks to finish the program due to shin splints that I let heal and then I repeated the previous week so it took me a little longer. At the end of the program I could run 30 minutes but only 2.5 miles. It took another 4 weeks to get to 3.1…
  • Excellent. I would suggest maybe downloading a C25K app for your smartphone. I went from never running ever to now running 5k's and 10k's. A true endorphin junkie lol.
  • Dont be a hater..it was a simple observation and a simple opinion while I was watching them compete in a sport that amazes me. Geez...bitter much ?
  • I honestly don't care whether female athletes have boobs or no boobs but as a male, I did notice all the women participating in the Super Combined last night had little to no boobs. On the flipside their legs and butts were simply phenomenal !!
  • Both awesome vehicles.....trying to convince my wife how incredible she would look in a new Stingray for a weekend car. She hasn't dismissed it so I am taking that as a 'yes' to purchase.
  • this coming from a chevy owner...chevy...the VERY definition of style and performance....
  • 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan...meh 1998 Lincoln Continental... I love this car...perfect blend of luxury performance
  • Great, thanks. I didn't realize it was a couch to 10k.
  • As a man, I have to strongly disagree with that statement...but I will add that boobs do not make the relationship unless that is what the relationship was based on...I know a few people who dated others strictly based on boob size. My wife has a nice boobs...and I like 'em but they do not define our relationship.
  • Just be active no matter what it is . I know you are thinking about getting into a running program, but even just getting to the gym and walking on the treadmill listening to some music is a fantastic way to begin the gym 'habit'. That is exactly what I started doing when I first joined. And I know its your perception but…
  • As someone who has been sidelined twice with major shin splints here is the advice I can offer you. 1. IMHO the most important thing you can do when you start running is go to a running shoe store and get a run analysis done . you need to find out if you over/under pronate, heel strike, etc. Get shoes that fits how you…
  • SHOES !!! It makes a huge difference. And not just getting shoes, go to a running specific store and have a run analysis done. They will be able to help you find shoes to correct most running issues that will affect you. And also second the slow down part....speed will come with time and better fitness. ETA..check out the…
  • I think Applebees has a pretty decent lighter menu...I can get a steak with shrimp (510 calories) AND a strawberry cheesecake dessert shooter (380 calories) and STILL be under most of the entrees minus fries.
  • One of the best tips regarding running...sometimes your mind will want to stop before your legs are ready to. Sometimes its a psychological barrier that needs to be overcome.
