I like to eat several times throughout the day. Do I need to? No, but I like to, and it has no affect on my weight loss. That's why people eat during movies. Because they like to.

I would be interested to see the blood work of individuals who have no dietary cholesterol intake but eat at a caloric surplus as compared to those who eat a high cholesterol diet with a caloric surplus. I'm sure studies have been done. I'll look after work.

My understanding is that dietary cholesterol DOES correlate with blood cholesterol, but it is not the major component of blood cholesterol.

Even so, calorie blow out time as a part of an overall calorie conscious diet isn't a problem. Plus, OP and others in here are looking for more nutrition conscious options. What's wrong with happening to have a snack during a movie?

Why is eating at the movies such a big deal for some people? Even at home I like to eat something when I watch a movie. Yeah... I'm sure it's from snacking at the movies a few times a year. Give me a break. It's a treat. OP I like Blue Diamond Wasabi Soy Sauce Almonds while I watch movies.

With a vegetarian diet you have to really pay attention to get enough fats and protein. From what I understand nuts are a great way to up your fats as well.

A lot of people get 1200 because MFP has you eat your exercise calories back. I asked for .5 lb per week and MFP gave me 1350 calories. My BMR is 1690. Not a good system IMO.

This. I eat oatmeal, but if I were to eat oatmeal for the protein I would have to eat over 30 servings. The protein is a nice bonus, but you should get your protein from sources that have 20+ grams per 100ish calories if you want to eat at a deficit.

The rule of thumb is typically about 2 pounds per week. If you have a lot of weight to lose you can maybe push that to 3, but you should really probably eat more to avoid metabolic adaptation and to preserve muscle mass.
