  • I'm interested if anyone knows anything about this because they say birth control does not cause weight gain, however, each time I go on it I gain significant weight. I think I also feel more hungry on birth control than when I am not.
  • I also have it and am really struggling to get the added weight off because of the insulin resistance that goes along with it. I'm 35 years old. Please feel free to add me.
  • I have, but I didn't associate it with Metformin. I think Chronic Fatigue Syndrome can be associated with PCOS and I noticed that my doctor noted chronic fatigue on my medical records, so I have always thought it was that. Unfortunately I haven't done much research about it so I can't provide any additional info. I did…
  • Thanks so much for posting this! I just did Week 3 Day 1 tonight. I wanted to stop during the 3 minute intervals but I didn't! You are an inspiration that I can keep going and I can do this!
  • I just started today and would love some friends to help keep me accountable. I have a friend (long distance) and we are going to try to keep each other going on the couch to 5k program, but I would love to support and receive support from others.
  • Hi! Have you been to an endocrinologist at all? My hair was thinning really bad on the top, almost like male pattern balding, and thats when I finally decided I couldn't tolerate the PCOS symptoms anymore. The endocrinologist was able to look at all of my hormone levels and determine what was out of whack. I shared with…
  • I'm glad to see all the responses! My husband and I don't think we want kids, and right now I'm struggling with all the questions from everybody "so... when do you think you're going to get pregnant?" I get asked so frequently it's becoming really uncomfortable. I love kids, just not sure I want my own. It's nice to see…
  • I totally understand your frustration. I went through many many doctors before I finally got a diagnosis. I've finally found an endocrinologist and an ob/gyn that are not afraid to develop a treatment plan. I can't say I've lost any more weight since I have found these doctors, but I am receiving proper treatment that is…
  • It also had the opposite effect on me. I used to crave carbs like crazy but once I started Metformin, I can take or leave them. I can even have a bread basket in front of me without inhaling the whole thing now.
  • Have you read the Insulin Resistance Diet? The main idea of the diet is to always pair carbs with protein and to never eat more than 30 carbs within a 2 hour period. I'm miserable without carbs, so this is what I am trying. I can't brag about huge success yet because I just started, but I'm a lot happier following this…
  • Have you gone to an endocrinologist? That is who prescribed metformin for me. I was diagnosed with PCOS by the endocrinologist. It wasn't until last month that an OB/GYN agreed. Going to an endocrinologist may be another option for you if your insurance will cover the visit.
  • I stopped BC about a year ago because it was causing migraine headaches for me. I didn't notice any effects until about March. I noticed my cycles started getting longer at that time. Over the next couple months they got longer and longer and I was experiencing pelvic pain probably 2 weeks out of every month. I ended up…
  • Hi! I'm doing a plan that's not drastically low carb, but does require limited carbs. I have pcos and insulin resistance so I am trying to follow the Insulin Resistance Diet which is generally 45% carbs / 25% fat / 30% protein and requires pairing proteins with carbs. I'd love to find more friends that are limiting carbs.
  • I think I'm actually at a point right now where I want to develop some sort of acceptance of my body as it is. I don't mean giving up on my focus to be healthy, but accepting that my body has it's challenges, that it is likely to always have those challenges, but to be proud and give myself credit for all the things I am…
  • Mine have been as follows: Hair loss on my head and excessive hair in other areas. Inability to lose weight Acne even past age 30 Pelvic pain Irregular periods Excessive Fatigue Hypoglycemia It's been a barrel of fun :grumble:
  • I fit in this group too! And would love to have some friends going through the same! I'm 5'5", 33 yo, and my highest weight was 274. I'm currently 246 and have been stuck here for what seems like forever. Also battling with PCOS, Insulin Resistance, and Slow thyroid. I'd love to get some friend requests from people that…
  • I'm also not new, but am newly recommitted. I'd love to add some friends!
  • I was put on 1000 mg of the extended release formula, and the first few weeks were not fun. I felt nauseous most of the time and I also felt like I was having hot flashes. I knew that it would eventually go away and that the drug would really help me, so I stuck it out. Now I only have occasional digestive problems.…
