Yesterday I got an email that there were donuts in the other campus' lounge. I was thanking God that I don't work on that campus...until I saw the cake in ours. It's gonna get tougher with the holidays coming, too.

GREAT job!

Friends at the gym. I had anxiety attacks daily, same time, every day, until I started going to the gym. It was pure loneliness. Now that I am at the gym daily the attacks are gone because I look forward to seeing those same people. Also my relationships outside the gym are better because I am more positive and energetic!

kiwiburger those are sexy abs for sure!

Studies have shown that weight loss is successful when you document what you eat, not necessarily when you count calories. By writing down what you are eating you are still going to see similar results. It is amazing when you are aware of just what and how much you are putting into your body. SO...use a paper log, and…

HIIT...I agree.

I'm hoping Santa brings me some fat burning pills that actually work. I want to eat cake and cookies and stay home to watch movies instead of working out every night, too!

Definitely...smaller plate! That is what I have been doing. I'm the same way, I have to clean my plate. Also, I dish the food at the stove instead of having it on the table. When I get up I'm more likely to put the extras in containers for leftovers as opposed to eating more. I like to plan out my meals. If I make 2…

I think that what you are doing is fine, especially since you are beginning. Another thing to consider, if you have the time is to work out in the morning for 20 minutes and then work out in the evening for 20 minutes. By separating the time you work out you are boosting your metabolism through out the day. You might find…

I would just use a chain's information. It isn't going to vary too much. I ordered Pizza Hut's thin crust veggie lovers with half the cheese and had to put it in as the regular because there is no way to estimate it with less cheese. There is no way the slice was that many calories, but I'd rather be under than over.

If you possibly can, cut the portion sizes down. Maybe indulge once a week, but skip the rest and find some friends to work out with you.

Definitely document what was said and talk to the mom about it. That is too much for a kiddo to make up. I've never played beer pong and had no idea what it was until I was 26. He couldn't make that up. He has at least seen the drunken behavior.

Ah, I don't care. I'm not really afraid to tell people what I weigh. It's a number and it means different things for different people. One guy who wanted to meet me asked my friend if I weighed less than 120. WTF...he's an idiot because most girls don't weigh less than 120. My friend laughed and said that he thought she…

I want to be able to make my body do whatever I tell it to do. So...like run a marathon, compete in triathlons, etc. I don't want to be burdened by weight and lack of muscle. I'm overweight at this point, still have 20 to lose before I hit the "normal" point...and 35-40 for my final goal, but I honestly think I look good…

Remember that exercise and nutrition calories are really just estimates. Unless you wear a heart rate monitor and weigh everything you eat it is going to vary anyway. I'd be so lucky to get within 60 calories!!

I hadn't heard of Tabata but one of my instructors uses it for classes occasionally. She actually made us do 8 reps instead of 4. It was hell and I was sore for several days afterwards.

I had a dream last night that I was an amazing swimmer. Got in the pool this morning and realized...oh it was really a dream...Spent the 45 minutes choking on water. UGh...maybe some day my dreams will come true....

The government (if you can really trust them) recommend at least 30 minutes of MODERATE (not intense) exercise 5 days a week--so 2.5 hours a week plus strength training 2 -3 times a week. Most people on here are trying to lose large amounts of weight. I work out 4-5 days a week at least 45 minutes a day, if not up to 2…

I agree...no matter how great of a friend or family member...they aren't 100% reliable. They can help fill in the gaps though. It is imperative to find it within yourself to be happy.

Ya, it's in Nebraska not Illinois. A lot of my friends and companions will be doing it. It's also a race they say you aren't a runner if you don't run it. I know that is dumb...but it's kind of a big deal to me and my friends. I know it would make more sense to push the triathlon back to later in the summer but the…

Does anyone know if there are any water proof ones? I want to know how many calories I burn while swimming.

Eat no sugar until Dec. 20. Work out 30 minutes everyday (even if it is just walking or something light) Do 30 sit ups and 30 push ups everyday. Record what I eat everyday Hit the 170s--5lbs to go!

WOW!!! You look like a whole new person!!! Great job!

I find it best to work out the next day...maybe not as intense as the day before, but if I don't I feel worse for longer.

I am actually addicted to sugar...not gonna lie... My brother recommend that I go on a "sugar fast." I'm not super crazy about it. I am still eating fruits and peanut butter, things like that. However, I told myself...one week without sugar. No big deal. I'm doing great (It's day 5!) and the weight is starting to come off…

I think it is your style, and you could rock it... but I think it is too low cut and too short for me.

Instead of cornflakes, try fiber one cereal. Parmesan cheese isn't really terrible and I just don't think that's worth cutting out. I don't know about using milk instead of butter. When I make chicken parm I usually use eggs and flour, then coat in a mix of parm and italian bread crumbs, but that isn't healthier at all.…

I was seeing this amazing guy who I am still crazy about. He broke things off because he needed to work on himself a little. We are still friends but I miss him like crazy. I definitely miss the affection and security...and the hope that the single life was vanishing. Last night in cycling class, however, the hurt I felt…

I think the general rule is from the neck up, exercise is good. From the neck down, take a rest. Personally, when I feel ill I think it's best to sweat it out. I really haven't been sick since I have started working out 4-5 days a week.
