I wish I had more upvotes to give for this story. Massive props on your success and adventurous spirit.

I can't imagine not bragging if you hit one-derland. Congrats!

It may be the amount of weight you have to lose. The more you have to lose, the faster it seems to come off. Here's my trendweight graph for the last 6 months or so: https://trendweight.com/u/0019e1fe9fcc4b/ You can see it came off much faster at the beginning--now is tapering down. And I'm still not even where you are…

Oh I know that look. Here's what's going through their heads. "Look at that fat guy eating a hamburger! Happy heart attack, fat boy!" "Look at that fat guy eating a salad! Not working for you, is it, fat boy?"

On a crowded patio, I broke a plastic patio chair trying to sit down for lunch at a local pub. I wedged myself into it and the right armrest snapped off. And when I got up to move, the chair remained stuck to my lower half. People laughed out loud.

Thumbs up! Feels great, doesn't it?

Hey, all our music isn't ****ty.

I started with more than 200 pounds to lose myself. I still have more than 100 pounds to go. Agreed, we can't do it alone. Friend request sent!

I've been using XBMC since the days it was on my modded Xbox 1. (not One. You know what I mean). Currently using it on my OUYA. And an old jailbroken iPad. I *love* it. I have probably logged more hours on XBMC than any other app I own.

You can do it. Document your food intake, weigh and measure your food, weigh yourself only once a week, and start or increase your exercise level. The act of documenting my food intake is helping me more than I thought it would. If you don't weigh and measure your food, you may eat more or less than you think. Weighing…

Good idea! I've been doing my own Mount Doom trek over the past few months, and documenting a bit on my blog here. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Ftw37

You can do it. I was 419 pounds on June 23 of this year. I'm down 138 pounds so far, and if I can do it-- YOU CAN TOO.

Welcome. The tools and support here will help you meet your goals. If you want to add me as a friend, I log every day and offer frequent feedback.
-
Truly inspiring. You are an example of what hard work and dedication can accomplish.
-
Good news. Can't wait myself.
-
Congrats on your 5k! Did you track it with Runkeeper or Garmin or something?
-
5 foot 9, starting at 419 lbs. 5 months to lose 100 lbs. Still have 135 to go.

Unless I change the way I eat forever, I will just gain it all back. It's like an addiction. I can't have my drug of choice (bad food) anymore. I have to take it a day at a time, but it has to be forever.

I just thought I'd follow up to my first post ever. I'm 40% of my way towards my theoretical set point of 175 pounds. My improved healthy diet and my increased exercise are starting to have actual benefits in my life. My clothes are much looser. I have much more energy. I walk a LOT now. I appreciate all my MFP friends so…

I was very nervous posting the first few times as well. However, you will find that your success here at MFP is almost directly related to the amount you get involved. Being accountable to others is important, but being accountable to YOURSELF is the most important, IMHO. Feel free to add me as a friend. I'll offer…

You inspire me. I see your hard work, day after day. The results speak for themselves. I look forward to you leading the way.

Hi Litha: As I write this, I have about 150 pounds to lose myself. I'd love to be your friend along our shared journey. Friend request sent. Frank (ftw37)

I suggest walking. It's cheap and everyone can do it. Get a fitbit to track your progress. You'll be astounded how quickly you level up.
-
I haven't found an all-in-one yet. I use the Mio Alpha for HRM (it's a watch, doesn't need a chest strap) along with the Fitbit One. Fitbit has a new band out that might do well for you as well. Good luck!
-
Hi: I'm a big guy too. I "saw the light" on June 19, 2013. Haven't looked back yet. Still have about 153 pounds to lose. Friend request sent! Frank (ftw37)

I wear headphones when I go out for my walks, most of the time. I pretend the people around me are NPCs or zombies. I have actually walked through crowds of people and thought "man, they need to tune the spawn rate for mobs in this area!"

You rock. Here's to the next goal!

You're that positive girl who has consistently helped and encouraged other people, day in and day out. You're that tough girl who exercised to the point of physical pain, and kept on going. You're that dedicated girl who has kept logging her food intake with commitment. You're that tenacious girl who will grit her teeth,…
